Unlike the earlier small Raspberry Pi Cameras, the camera and lens are separate, so the lens is interchangeable (and can be of much higher quality). This lens has variable focus, yielding higher quality pictures and finer control. The camera module can easily be attached to the lens, which in turn has a standard thread for use with camera stands (1/4" 20). Note that the camera module is not included.
