Razer Basilisk V3 Ergonomic Optical RGB Gaming Mouse, RZ01-04000100

Individually lit RGB zones? Check. Easy movement? Check. Fully customizable color/animation profiles, including ones tied into specific apps/games? Check. Priced reasonably, unlike just about every other mouse brand/model with these features? So many checks.I've had this mouse for a little over a month now, and it continues to be a pleasure to use. And the Razer Synapse software makes customizing it to almost insanely granular levels possible, even if it's sometimes a bit overwhelming. Coupled with the fact that you can also apply lighting effects to other compatible devices like the Cynosa 2 keyboard with the click of a button, and the whole Razer Chroma ecosystem is just plain nice, and at much lower prices than other manufacturers.Oh, and how beautifully it ... MoreIndividually lit RGB zones? When part of an overall RGB setup, the possibilities for customizing one's work/gaming space become enormous.I'm not usually a 5-star reviewer, but when something works this well for such a good price, I have to give that extra little bump in its rating. I can easily recommend this mouse, especially if you can get it on sale for even less.

The Razer Basilisk V3 wired optical mouse is a terrific mouse for gamers. With 11 programmable buttons, you can not only make it work for you, but customize it for every game you play. My first recommendation is to use the Razer software called Synapse. It allows you to make adjusts to the buttons and the RGB lighting, and you can create an account or login to your existing one, to save your settings. The Synapse software is used for a lot of Razer products, so if you also have a Razer keyboard, you can use the same program to adjust both devices. The software is also a good place to figure out what all those buttons do. In my case, my previous mice was simpler so I needed a little help. Nanoleafs have been discontinued, but are still supported to some degree, at least for now, although it says July 2021.Out of the box, the mouse was a litte too fast for me, but one of the default buttons changes the DPI, so I could quickly switch to the perfect setting. The mouse feels very responsive and accurate, and it was a pleasure playing games with it. It does a great job at non-gaming tasks too, like browsing.I would argue that this is the most complete mouse on the market, in terms of functionality, at least for gamers. The scroll button in particular, is so much more useful than a typical one, especially since you can go sideways, but also because of alternative smart scrolling settings.I found the Basilisk V3 to be comfortable after hours of use, which is important for extended gaming sessions. It’s wired, but as long as the cable is placed correctly, that shouldn’t be a concern, and it’s made out of a nice, soft material that doesn’t get stuck as easily as typical rubber cables. I’m glad it’s wired actually because it keeps the latency and connection in check.Judging by the feel of the material and continued use of buttons and wheel, this thing feels like it’s built to last a long time. This was my first Razer mouse, but it doesn’t look like it will be my last. The price seems pretty fair to me, considering the quality of the product. I have no harsh criticisms for this mouse, at least not after a few days of use, so I’m giving it two thumbs up.

I bought this mouse at the end of Jan. 2022 with high hopes. The hyperscroll wheel and the thumb button meant I could use this mouse as both a work mouse and a gaming mouse, something I was really excited by. However, after a couple days of using it, I noticed that the when using the scroll wheel in smart reel mode, there would be phantom scrolling. I would spin the wheel to scroll and as the wheel came to a stop, it would cause the document that I was reading to jump ahead 5 to 6 pages. So every time I thought the page was coming to a stop, I would suddenly find myself 6 pages from where I was just looking. I reached out to Razer tech support, and to their credit, they have been extremely helpful, looking for some solutions. So every time I thought the page was coming to a stop, I would suddenly find myself 6 pages from where I was just looking. I reached out to Razer tech support, and to their credit, they have been extremely helpful, looking for some solutions. They had me send the mouse back to have them inspect it, then sent it back and asked me to try again. It had the same problem. They asked for me to send it back again for a higher level tech to look at it, which I did, only to receive a mouse that still didn't work properly. They had me send it back again and sent me a new one which had the same exact problem. So back it went only to get another mouse with the same exact problem. The problem happened on each computer I tried and was easily replicable. But when their techs looked at it, they said they couldn't identify a problem. I have sent the mouse back and gotten another one close to half a dozen times, and each one has the same exact problem. It has taken so long to go through this process that I am now outside of the return period. Several times the new mouse I got was shipped from Honk Kong. Why? I don't know but it couldn't have been cheap to do that several times. So now I am stuck with a mouse that doesn't work correctly and has phantom inputs that makes it unusable. Be aware and look else where.
