When part of an overall RGB setup, the possibilities for customizing one's work/gaming space become enormous.I'm not usually a 5-star reviewer, but when something works this well for such a good price, I have to give that extra little bump in its rating. I can easily recommend this mouse, especially if you can get it on sale for even less.

The Razer Basilisk V3 wired optical mouse is a terrific mouse for gamers. With 11 programmable buttons, you can not only make it work for you, but customize it for every game you play. My first recommendation is to use the Razer software called Synapse. It allows you to make adjusts to the buttons and the RGB lighting, and you can create an account or login to your existing one, to save your settings. The Synapse software is used for a lot of Razer products, so if you also have a Razer keyboard, you can use the same program to adjust both devices. The software is also a good place to figure out what all those buttons do. In my case, my previous mice was simpler so I needed a little help. Nanoleafs have been discontinued, but are still supported to some degree, at least for now, although it says July 2021.Out of the box, the mouse was a litte too fast for me, but one of the default buttons changes the DPI, so I could quickly switch to the perfect setting. The mouse feels very responsive and accurate, and it was a pleasure playing games with it. It does a great job at non-gaming tasks too, like browsing.I would argue that this is the most complete mouse on the market, in terms of functionality, at least for gamers. The scroll button in particular, is so much more useful than a typical one, especially since you can go sideways, but also because of alternative smart scrolling settings.I found the Basilisk V3 to be comfortable after hours of use, which is important for extended gaming sessions. It’s wired, but as long as the cable is placed correctly, that shouldn’t be a concern, and it’s made out of a nice, soft material that doesn’t get stuck as easily as typical rubber cables. I’m glad it’s wired actually because it keeps the latency and connection in check.Judging by the feel of the material and continued use of buttons and wheel, this thing feels like it’s built to last a long time. This was my first Razer mouse, but it doesn’t look like it will be my last. The price seems pretty fair to me, considering the quality of the product. I have no harsh criticisms for this mouse, at least not after a few days of use, so I’m giving it two thumbs up.

I bought this mouse at the end of Jan. 2022 with high hopes. The hyperscroll wheel and the thumb button meant I could use this mouse as both a work mouse and a gaming mouse, something I was really excited by. However, after a couple days of using it, I noticed that the when using the scroll wheel in smart reel mode, there would be phantom scrolling. I would spin the wheel to scroll and as the wheel came to a stop, it would cause the document that I was reading to jump ahead 5 to 6 pages. So every time I thought the page was coming to a stop, I would suddenly find myself 6 pages from where I was just looking. I reached out to Razer tech support, and to their credit, they have been extremely helpful, looking for some solutions. They had me send the mouse back to have them inspect it, then sent it back and asked me to try again. It had the same problem. They asked for me to send it back again for a higher level tech to look at it, which I did, only to receive a mouse that still didn't work properly. They had me send it back again and sent me a new one which had the same exact problem. So back it went only to get another mouse with the same exact problem. The problem happened on each computer I tried and was easily replicable. But when their techs looked at it, they said they couldn't identify a problem. I have sent the mouse back and gotten another one close to half a dozen times, and each one has the same exact problem. It has taken so long to go through this process that I am now outside of the return period. Several times the new mouse I got was shipped from Honk Kong. Why? I don't know but it couldn't have been cheap to do that several times. So now I am stuck with a mouse that doesn't work correctly and has phantom inputs that makes it unusable. Be aware and look else where.

I've had a few versions of the Basilisk over the years, first the Basilisk essential, then the overpriced but good Basilisk Ultimate (Wireless). So this is my third Basilisk and it sits in the middle price wise of my first two.The V3 is very solid, buttons/clicks feel very good all around, although maybe a pinch more force needed than my Ultimate..but that could also be the amount of use that has smoothened out the buttons on the ultimate. Overall feel and function from the texture of the mouse and click/buttons are very good. Texture is significantly more aggressive than both. Could be personal taste but I enjoy it a lot.Lighting is very nice, although I don't use razers software because it uses far too much of my CPU and noticably affects my gaming experience ... MoreI've had a few versions of the Basilisk over the years, first the Basilisk essential, then the overpriced but good Basilisk Ultimate (Wireless). So this is my third Basilisk and it sits in the middle price wise of my first two.The V3 is very solid, buttons/clicks feel very good all around, although maybe a pinch more force needed than my Ultimate..but that could also be the amount of use that has smoothened out the buttons on the ultimate. Overall better experience and less intensive on the computer in most cases.I'm hopeful the mouse will last me a long time as my other Basilisks have. I do recommend this one the most out the 3 total I now have. It is priced very reasonably for the features and quality you're getting.Just don't download the software or use it. Razer you need to stop trying to force your bloatware on me.-1 point for that behavior.
The mouse is very nice. Its suited more for a claw grip rather than flat or any other way of supporting a mouse. The shape is designed for right handed people and is ergonomic. The switches are very nice and provide sharp clicks without being hard or uncomfortable to press. The sensitivity clutch is perfect for 3rd person shooters. The tilt scroll wheel is very helpful and I was contemplating whether or not I would occasionally accidently knock it, however its difficult to accidentally press. This doesn't mean that its hard to press either. It provides excellent and stable clicks with every press. The RGB lighting on this mouse is also fantastic, completely customisable and even can mirror lighting effects in game. The only flaw with this mouse is the price to performance, being, in my eyes a little too much. Regardless this is an excellent purchase.
First off.. Wow gaming mice have come down in the past few years it seems.. This is GREAT for the price! (Remember the Razer Diamondback??) Longer clickers than I thought they would be but work just fine for FPS and any game i've used. I'm not sure if I can go back to a mouse without the button to make the scroll wheel just go full fidget spinner mode.. I'm not kidding a really do like it, it's useful too. I get some little crumbs or whatever microscopic things that scrape underneath the mouse which can be annoying (I use the Razer Sphex V2 mousepad) but it's not the mouse's fault I suppose. The different color lights look great and the Razer program works just fine imo. The button mapping can be a bit funky but totally doable. I figured out that you can't really ... MoreFirst off.. I figured out that you can't really create another "Mouse 6", instead you need to just assign the button (between Mouse 4 and Mouse 5 on the map) using the "keyboard function" to the exact letter or key on the keyboard for the game. You'll see what I mean. Cord is nice, has that braided feel but isn't super stiff (it's been months since I got this not sure how it was in the start but it's fine now).
This is a great mouse. I'm a Razer hardware boy from way back and this has been been no exception to that rule. It's been an awesome performer since I got it and I use my mouse for at least eight hours every day and usually a lot more than that when I'm gaming or working. It's hefty (even for a corded mouse) and I like mice with a bit of heft to them. It helps me keep slow twitch muscles under control while I'm gaming. It also provides a tactical advantage during gaming sessions with the adjustable optical sensor, onboard profiling, and fast button switches that I've come to expect and love about Razer mice and keyboards. In the every day: the mouse tracks perfectly, no jitter, no jolts, and the RGB looks amazing. I'm also happy that I can use the mouse without Razer's software installed though as that is a little bit resource intensive. Granted, it's not as easy to program the RGB (I have to use a third part piece of software), but in the end, I'd rather have color fading RGB than a resource hog.If you catch it on sale or at a reduced price, grab one. Or just grab one at full price. Either way, you won't regret it. :)
This Razer Basilisk V3 is a really nice option for those who are gamers, but also want a mouse that works great for work and household computer use. No surprise that the ergonomic design makes for extended, comfortable use. I like the built-in thumb paddle, feel of the mouse surfaces and smooth glide of the PTFE feet. No issues with the braided cord and I’d have no qualms with sticking with a corded mouse.A stand out feature of the V3 is the Razer Chroma lighting. Surely one can find the ideal lighting via the Razer Chroma studio. Create your own or go with established modes to keep things visually interesting. An underside switch allows one to cycle through the profiles. The HyperScroll Tilt Wheel is pretty interesting that it allows Tactile or Free Spin modes. Depending on use one might want the more clicky, precise scrolls versus the unrestricted free spin until stopped. By spinning the wheel quicker Smart Reel will put the wheel into Free Spin automatically. For work, this is a nice feature to have available. The V3 has some nice improvements to functionality, great overall feel and build quality and one will be amazed at how enjoyable the Razer Chroma lighting is. Strongly recommend the Razer keyboard too.
I recently picked up the Razer Basilisk v3 to try in place of my current logitech G403. I like the shape of the G403 but just like with keyboards I'm still always interested in trying something different to see how it compares. I also have a OG logitech MX510, OG SteelSeries Sensei, wired logitech G pro, and the logitech G403 to compare it to. So far I am enjoying the Basilisk shape and switches. The shape fits my hand well and I find it to be very ergonomic for longer gaming sessions. It also provides good control over the mouse with my finger tip style grip. Good for FPS and RTS, im sure its lacking buttons for hardcore WOW players and the like. Switches feel good as well with a good amount of effort, not too stiff and not too light where you are constantly ghost clicking. I really like the scroll wheel on the basilisk v3 and it has some neat features like the ability to change from a tactile scroll to a completely free scroll feel. The scroll wheel can also scroll left and right which is nice, not the first mouse ive owned with this feature but my last few logitechs didnt have this. Can customize button functionality in the synapse software for different games or applications. Synapse isn't quite as terrible as I would have expected but I also feel a 500mb application is a bit much just to change button bindings and RGB patterns. Being a razer mouse the basilisk is full on with its RGB. Plenty of patterns to choose from and its nice and bright. The mouse has sort of a underglow to it which is actually kind of cool. Im not a huge RGB guy so this wasn't a selling point to me but if you are all about the color schemes you can certainly achieve whatever your theme is with this mouse and the synapse software. DPI is easy to adjust in the synapse program and comes with 5 different presets out of the box, up to 26k DPI if you can somehow even tolerate a sensitivity that high. Overall a great mouse option for most types of gaming as long as it fits your hand and your grip well.
A must upgrade from any mouse you currently own. Heck i also want to by another one just for work because i cant use anything else but this. The mouse is so comfortable in the hand and the responsiveness is insane! And the custom DPI that you can set for yourself makes it even the more worth it. It is very easy to install because it comes with a driver and app already installed into the mouse so it automatically does the updates and downloads as soon as you plug it, no need to go to a website and download drivers and an app and restart the pc etc, looking at you logitech. As someone that had the logitech g502 hero for a few years, i now remember why i kept telling myself not to buy logitech anymore because they dont last long even with the most care out there. And in comparison to the hero, the basilisk 3v is a no brainer and a better mouse in every way! Weight, comfort , features, im a huge fan that the dpi buttons are not next to the left click like in the hero, that way there arent any accidental presses, so the left click feels bigger and easier to use even for just working at home and gaming. Overall this is a must buy and i highly recommend it! And the RGB lights on it are outstanding!!
