The other day i was just taking it off my head and the force of simply separating the ear cups off of my head sent plastic bits flying.The only positive i can tell you about this headset is the battery life, and that's IT. It was not comfortable to wear for extended periods, always left my ears hurting because the cups are poorly designed. It also has wireless connectivity issues, it'll turn off without any notice on me for multiple times in a session, and sometimes the audio is will be working fine 1 second and the next it's all crackly and distorted, forcing you to turn it off and on again to have it work properly, which is not ideal at all when I’ve had it happen in critical points within a game. Also the buttons on the headset are very poorly thought out in terms of design and their functions.Razer is a company that continues to live off initial reviews of their products, the ones that don’t have enough time with them to understand the horrible build quality that they offer. This is absolutely the last Razer product i buy in my life.

I do have a couple of issues with it though:- Mic sidetone is very quiet even at full volume. Not a deal breaker for me personally, but it could be for those who prefer a more audible sidetone.- Placement within the headset can be a bit cumbersome upon insertion; can be finicky and will not function unless placed and spun counterclockwise. Takes a bit of trial and error but will stay in place once properly fitted.Noise cancellation: Passive only, will not filter out loud noises at same level as most closed back headphones. This seems to be the trade off for having such a comfortable fit. However, neither myself nor my partner have noticed any audio bleed or speaker audio being picked up by the mic.Miscellaneous: note that the earcups are not removable or replaceable, which is a strange omission given that the Blackshark V2 wired variant has that option. Go with those instead if you don't mind the wires and are looking to customize or properly maintain the earcups. The Pro variant also charges via an included Micro USB, which may be a turnoff for those who have already fully converted over to USB Type C.

My test calls received the same response from the people I called—I even had one friend mention he would have no idea I was on a headset if I hadn’t told him.If you’re already part of the ‘Razer-verse’ then you likely already have the Razer Synapse program installed on your gaming rig. If you don’t, it’s a nice program designed to make all of the Razer products you own ‘sync’ with each other. It also has controls for individual items such as color selection to ‘sync’ the colors on each product (even including their RAM if your PC has a ‘window’), mouse button assignments and much, much more. For the headset it has equalizer adjustments and settings—best thing about this is you can ‘save’ your favorite to the headset! It will carry over if you connect to PS5, and also means you don’t automatically have to open Synapse each time you want to change your EQ settings (and can still be switched to other settings via the headset controls). If you don’t want to bother with a new program on your computer then the good news is that it is not necessary in order to use the headphones.Overall this is a fantastic high-end headset for gaming. If you are in the market for a product like this I highly recommend them—If you’re already in the ‘Razer-verse’ then this is another stellar product that will sync nicely with your other Razer devices.

It's bloated and forces you to install unnecessary components, which is incredibly frustrating when you only need the drivers. The Razer Cortex and Central software are useless and just add to the bloat. To make matters worse, the USB connection frequently drops, especially when using a USB 3.0 port or a USB hub. I want to make it clear that I take very good care of everything I own because work very hard to be able to buy good quality items that will last a long time. My headset is hung from a headset stand when not in use, and I am the only user of the headset in my household with no children.I promptly contacted Razer support and sent more pictures when the headband clip broke off the rest of the way. I recently changed departments at work, but previously worked in Quality Assurance inspecting plastic injection mold output quality for several years and quickly realized the headband clip's defect was caused by an internal structure failure where the plastic is injected into the mold from the injection nozzle. This is usually caused by insufficient pressure during the injection process, clogs in the injector nozzle, or the volume of the plastic material being under specification.The response received from Razer support is that this is not covered by the 2-year manufacturer's warranty. I've attached a screenshot of the response, with the name of the case worker removed to protect them backlash.Based off of my experience, I would not purchase another Razer product. You may feel differently, but if this review helps someone who is on the fence about who to trust for a quality purchase, Razer is not my recommendation. I'm out $200+, and back to using the Philips headset that I got on woot.com 9 years ago until I can save up enough money for another new headset - which will not be made by Razer.Reasoning for ratings:Overall rating is "Poor" due to low product quality, unhelpful customer service, and nonexistent warranty coverage.Value is "Poor" due to the cost of the item set at over $200 USD, yet unable to survive through 6 months of gentle use.Quality is "Poor" due to internal structural failure of a component caused by a defective plastic injection process and poor quality control and quality assurance.Ease of Use is "Fair" because after getting through the initial driver updates and configuring the Razer Synapse, Razer Cortex, and THX 7.1 Surround apps to work cohesively, the headset did work correctly until it fell apart.

This time around, I replaced it through Best Buy's accidental replacement plan, and decided to give the model one last chance - though I'm leaving room in my budget to upgrade to something more durable in the near future in case third time isn't the charm.To the headset's credit, though - I use it for an average of 10 hours a day (work from home, social video calls, music, videos, gaming) and, when it's intact, I couldn't ask for a better headset. It's comfortable to wear, it can last for days (though I try to charge it every night or two), and it switches pretty easily between devices. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile, but the sound quality is fantastic, especially when you're plugged in to a PC for THX support.Overall, I'd *cautiously* recommend this headset if you're willing to treat it like it's made of eggshells, and if you get an accidental protection plan from the seller rather than the manufacturer (can't give Razer customer support many points, unfortunately). But you're probably better off looking for a different product line - this one seems to have the complex technology down, but not the basic engineering.

And speaking of things that stand out, the microphone is what most receives my attention because normally the microphones of wireless headset and more if they are detachable, don't always deliver a clear and strong sound as one would like, but in this case Razer has made an extra effort and it is noticeable, at all times my teammates hear me correctly and clearly, I have been very satisfied in this area.Regarding the design I can say that they are not the most aesthetic headset I've had because I consider them a little big, but I like them and mainly because they are comfortable. They come in matte black color, with sufficiently large earcups that cover my ear completely, at the moment it seems that I am using noise canceling headset. On the right earcup there is a knob that serves to modulate the volume, two buttons that are power and to mute or activate the microphone, on the right earcup the button to manage the bluetooth connection and also fulfills other functions such as switching device as well as selecting the equalization depending on the game you are playing, the software (Razer Synapse) has 5 presets for games that are Apex Legends, Call of Duty, CS:GO, Fortnite, Valorant, you can also create different presets to taste.In summary and based on my experience using gaming headset of different ranges, I can say that these headset offer enough and a little more for its price, there are headset that are around twice the price with practically the same performance, this product meets, and dare I say, exceeds my expectations. I can certainly recommend them highly.

Unfortunately for the time being, I have a Mac and that Synapse software is Windows 10/11 only (Soon I'll have an Asus Rog, handheld gaming PC with Win 11).I did game a couple of Sessions on PS5 playing COD MW II and its sounds good so far - Bass seems good enough if the volume is not too high, and on the Movie sound preset profile, and of course good surround sound to hear what's coming or what's around. But its only a matter of time to create a custom EQ profile soon once I get a Win 11 handheld gaming pc and embed it into the Headset - But Razer should look into consideration if at all possible to make Synapse for iOS, or have this specific Blackshark headset model included in the compatibly for using this other iOS app called Razer Audio (though the app ratings aren't doing too well).Next, I have tried this on my SteamDeck (its a Linux handheld gaming console that runs some PC games from Steam), through their official USB-C/thunderbolt dock that has a number of usb ports and I have also plugged in the 2.4ghz receiver into the available port. It does show up as the audio output source choice in settings; Went ahead and played Deadspace 2 - well it's scarier with the surrounding audio and especially on the Movie EQ setting. Later on played a bit of Halo Infinite and also awesome boom and gunning sounds as well.Overall, it is a great headset for both console and PC, especially customizable EQ settings and the volume knob along with the removable microphone are a couple of things I praised which my older headset didn't have.
