After using the Razer - BlackShark V2 Se for awhile my kids have come quite accustom to this headset.. Pros: -Love the color of the headset, the black pairs quite well with the green, the sound (both playback and record [headset and mic]) are quite good. - THX Spatial Audio also works quite well once you can seem to get it working with the headset. It has better Discord compatibility than with any other HyperX headset. I love that it is quite light feeling when it is sitting on your head and is actually very comfortable. The headset is also fairly affordable and well worth it, as it is quite the bang for the buck. As for the Cons: - Synapse software doesn't seem to be the greatest and could use quite a few improvements with headsets. Synapse makes getting the headset working, if at all at moments very very finicky. Sometimes the headset when plugged in seems to work off of the Razer Sound Card audio source in Windows. Other times the headset will work off of the THX Spatial Audio audio source. Due to the Synapse, you never know which one it is going to be until you plug it in. Another problem I noticed is the Microphone doesn't always seem to work when you are speaking into it, especially if you have it plugged into a gaming source such as a Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Ps4, etc. My Final thoughts on this headset are as follow: Those that are quite tech savvy should be find since they should be able to get Razer's Synapse's to play nicely with them long enough to keep this headset working consistently. Therefore, those who work quite well with tech this most definitely would be an amazing buy. As for anyone who is not technologically inclined or at least educated in tech I would not recommend this headset,, as the Synapse could quite possibly give you a major headache as well as a lot of uneccesary frustration.

I went from a Corsair wireless model to these. I liked having them wireless better, but the battery would no longer take a charge and the extra dongle was a pain (not Bluetooth). That and of course the static, pops and disconnects inherent with being wireless. What I worry about these is of course the wire fraying and breaking at some point. They do a much better job of noise dampening/canceling, but just don't sound as nice as the Corsair. They're not as loud, definitely not as bass-y. They distort when there's bass and you have things cranked up in the settings. That being said, they are way more comfortable. I don't regret getting them, good for the price point, but could use a little more oomph.

Decent headset, does the job.

Functions fine, I don't use the mic as I have a stand alone Blue Yeti X mic. The headset is a bit understated and bland looking compared to others in the price range. Has a dial for volume control instead of two buttons and it sticks out very noticeable from the headset. There is a small button near the dial for muting the microphone. I use it on my PC and I have no complaints about the audio at all. I don't really like the feel of the ear cuffs when worn, they are not as large as most of the other headsets I have had in this price range. While it works fine and all, doesn't slip from the head and such, I doubt I will stay with this headset on my next purchase. I have had others that look much nicer and have a better feel when worn.

Far exceeded expectations!

TLDR: Great sound and mic quality, great build quality, and good packaging. Packaging was secure, foam seemed to be of the nice, biodegradable type placed strategically near the most fragile parts. Documentation and warranty info is fairly concise, and a 2 year warranty is pretty generous for how much I paid for these. The headset also comes with a very nice carrying case (with an extra pocket for the usb sound card and removable mic) that I didn’t see mentioned on the packaging or listing. The build quality is very good, with mostly metal construction with a high quality plastic shell on the ear-cups. All of the foam is high quality, comfortable, and works well to block out outside noise. Sound quality is very good, sounding just short of my AirPods Pro (gen 1). ... MoreTLDR: Great sound and mic quality, great build quality, and good packaging. The microphone is removable (uses a standard 3.5mm jack), and has just about the best you can expect for a non dedicated mic. The mic is a little quiet default, but the Razer software has come a long way and allows nearly infinite customization, including raising your mic volume. The usb card seems to do a fairly good job of controlling customization and audio profiles without taking system resources-a must with gaming software. Due to how the size adjustment work I’d suggest sizing it in front of a mirror to make sure it’s even. All in all this headset had qualities that I would expect out of a 150-200 usd headset. I would (and have) recommend this to my friends and family.

I got this so my poor boyfriend didn't have to hear me through my PC mic anymore. 8/10 mic quality and the razor software is a cool feature to have if you want to customize the sound. The surround sound is also pretty good for the price. I'm a fan of THX, and they do a good job with immersing you in the music and games you play. Just be prepared for some sound to leak out. The comfort of the headset is nice. They move around nicer than I thought they would. I've found that I have to keep the mic pretty close to my mouth, though. Some of the time I have to have it brushing my lips for people to hear me loud enough. l'm a pretty loud person, so I was surprised I was even asked to talk louder. Good Headphones

I've been generally pleased with the headphones. When I first got them I had an issue where the audio and microphone wouldn't both work at the same time but eventually I discovered that it was an issue with the USB port on my PC and it worked fine on another USB port. I was able to chat with Razer technical support pretty late in the evening (10pm EDT) to track down the issue and their tech support was friendly and helpful. I'm not audiophile so I can't tell a big sound difference between my old cheaper headphones and these, although I haven't had any complaints about hearing me through the microphone like I had with my old headphones. It doesn't seem like my ears get hot any faster than my old headphones but I still definitely take them off for short breaks after an hour or two. I like the notch in the middle of the volume control so that you can find 50% volume by feel after setting it a little higher or lower temporarily. I found the spatial audio kind of distracting in League of Legends (since it is 3rd person isometric) but turning it off for just that game was easy to do.

Great headphones great for gaming & calls
19 November 2022

These are great headphones for gaming, conference calls, and general use. The quick mute button just behind the ear is super handy, especially on conference calls, and the ability to adjust the volume on the headset is also super convenient, especially if having a problem hearing a participant on a call. Note the headphones are wired and I purposely bought them to replace my Son's wireless version after the charging port broke. Now we both rely on this model of headphones. The only complaint I do have is that the cord seems to get twisted too easily and you have to unwind it. It's a minor complaint, but a complaint I have. Overall though, happy with these and would buy again.

Bought this for my son. Box says it has THX. What it didnt say is that getting any bass or THX to work requires the user to create a "Razer account" whereby the personal data is sent to Hong Kong. This was rated top gaming headset right now by a few notable websites, even though the pros aren't really using it. Regardless, I was expecting a great headset after my $200 Steelseries broke within a year at the single cheap, plastic connection point between the earpiece and headband (while the rest is a bougie metal alloy... go figure). However, right out of the box, it had a physical connection problem. First, I checked to see if it was my Windows settings. It wasn't playing out of the right speaker when the mic wasn't installed. Then it stopped doing it either way. Only upon squeezing the left earpiece or pressing it against my head did it work correctly. Some sort of loose connection it seems. Perhaps I could have found a sweet spot where it would have stayed ... MoreThis was rated top gaming headset right now by a few notable websites, even though the pros aren't really using it. Perhaps I could have found a sweet spot where it would have stayed working, but being that it's brand new, no thanks. Their QC department must have really slipped. From what I understand, from a YouTube video doing the 6 month durability review, these are not very consistent quality wise. It's like a toss of the dice. If you decide to get these, good luck. I, on the other hand, am switching to the HyperX Cloud II, which is the same price (actually cheaper since it is on sale), and is the set most used by the pros by far. The wired version. The wireless version is second place on many of the aforementioned websites though, if you've got the bucks to give them a spin.
