I’m new to gaming keyboards, so I wasn’t sure what to expect ordering this. I mean I’ve used a few here and there, but nothing new or my own. I’ve read a lot about mechanical keyboards and was looking at getting a ducky with the cherry Mx keys or the brown Mx keys hopefully looking for the silent and tactile feel, which I probably would have liked more, but this keyboard is phenomenal. It’s wayyyyy louder than I’d prefer, I wonder if it’ll interrupt my gameplay at all over my mic or anything but in all reality I’m not concerned. Buttons are smooth with an extreme response rate. Never realized how quickly a key response could be until I got this board and all I can say is I wish I would have gotten the pro with the rest rest and media keys. Definitely worth the extra ... MoreI’m new to gaming keyboards, so I wasn’t sure what to expect ordering this. I mean I’ve used a few here and there, but nothing new or my own. Definitely worth the extra for that. This was a great purchase at the time though as it came with the razer mamba elite mouse FOR FREE, and the mouse alone retails at around 90 dollars and honestly I’ve had a few mice and this has got be my favorite. Perfect size for my hand which I border on larger hands, for wide hands, and the grip is awesome. Doesn’t get too hot and it doesn’t slip, the sensor is so incredibly smooth too! Alright I’m rambling now.I use these for school and gaming pc and console and I’m extremely pleased and the the razer synapse program for all the rgb and fine tuning is phenomenal, I’d DEFINITELY recommend if you are in the market but don’t want to spend that 150 and up.Only took a star away because it is LOUD. But some people love that clickyness!

I've tried out a few gaming keyboards in my life, and I've always found them to be lacking, either due to stickier keys than they should have, too 'gamey' as in they look too flashy without enough function, or they just didnt work. This keyboard is pretty fantastic in every regard, because while it is quite loud (as in the keys are 'clickier' than I've seen in a while) they are incredible responsive. Chalk it up to the Opto-Mechanical switches or whatever, but it is so comfortable to use that it took me all of one paragraph to get used to the entire experience, and its really enjoyable overall. I find myself really appreciating the tactile feedback, though I would definitely recommend wearing headphones if you want to listen to music and type something extensive. ... MoreI've tried out a few gaming keyboards in my life, and I've always found them to be lacking, either due to stickier keys than they should have, too 'gamey' as in they look too flashy without enough function, or they just didnt work. This keyboard is pretty fantastic in every regard, because while it is quite loud (as in the keys are 'clickier' than I've seen in a while) they are incredible responsive. I would recommend it for someone who really wants that gaming keyboard experience without paying an exorbitant cost.

Pros: Got this on offer, so was great value compared to RRP. Solid keyboard, nice weight to it, looks good. Keys are light but not too light, the clicky keys have an instant response, best for fast typing and games, feels better than my last fully mechanical keyboard. The optical switches should be more reliable than fully mechanical ones. Chroma lighting has great customisation.Cons: Keyboard works without software but you need to use Synapse 3 for all functions to work and that software is still in Beta and may have issues. If there is a problem with the software it can make the keyboard play up and spam keys, I've not had this problem for a long time so may be sorted. At a glance it is very hard to see what LED is for what, the symbols are very hard to see. Fully exposed keys are more likely to get damaged by accident (knocking them from the side). Keys with more than one function the secondary symbols don't light up, only the primary functions light up. It would be better if all the writing on all keys light up.

SOLID buy for the price it went on sale for. I like Razer but I was never satisfied with the Blackwidow series of keyboards. The Huntsman series is remarkably better and feels amazing to type on, for gaming or for work (it's loud though!). They're putting out different versions of this one now with different sizes and even linear, less clicky versions of their optical switches so you've got options if the standard tenkey Huntsman isn't for you.My only complaint is that I'm not satisfied with the keyboard stands at all. If I accidentally shift the keyboard up on my wide desktop mousepad, it'll retract and fold in the little stands that keep the keyboard angled. The keyboard itself does a lot of moving around on my desk just because it's on a softer surface and the ... MoreSOLID buy for the price it went on sale for. Still a great keyboard. RGB Chroma is great.
GOOD: The switches on this keyboard feel great, and I highly recommend it as a typing keyboard. The click combined with low activation pressure make it a great keyboard for reduced-hand-fatigue typing. It does an OK job as a gaming keyboard, but linear clickless red switches are still better.BAD: The manufacturer misrepresents the capabilities of the onboard memory which can only store key mappings. The onboard memory cannot store lighting settings, so you're stuck with the default "breathing" backlight unless you install their bloated drivers, background services and make a Razer account. Even cheap RGB keyboards at least let you change between three or four default lighting schemes without a driver. Razer's failure here is totally unacceptable.ALSO BAD: The ... MoreGOOD: The switches on this keyboard feel great, and I highly recommend it as a typing keyboard. They constantly collapse if you slide the keyboard the slightest bit away from you. They're flimsy and ineffective. This is not a $150 keyboard.
Bought this keyboard because it was on promo sale which made this premium model much more affordable than it usually is. This keyboard's claim to fame is the fast very responsive optical mechanical key switches with key cap stabilizer bars on each key. The keys definitely live up to the hype. Though the key switch sensor is optical in nature, the keys themselves have a very nice clicky tactile feel to them with audible feedback. The keys don't appear to wobble and feel exactly the same whether depressed on center, left center or right center. The actuation point and reset point is right as the click sound is made. With practice a user could actuate the keys with a feather light touch not pushing the keys all the way to the bottom of their travel stroke length. On the downside the keys are not fully illuminated unlike other similar keyboards. This can be observed when looking at the 3 key where the 3 is lit but the # symbol is not lit. The LED illumination brightness can be controlled directly by the keyboard special function hyper shift keys. However the RGB color choice as well as the illumination pattern can only be controlled via Razer Synapse software. Unfortunately Razer Synapse on my laptop doesn't appear to detect the Huntsman while it seems to detect the connected Razer mouse just fine. Based upon online research this issue may be remedied via uninstalling Synapse, downloading Synapse and re-installing Synapse with the Huntsman connected. Haven't done this yet as the keyboard's default mode of color shifting through its entire RGB color palette isn't too annoying with the brightness level turned down.
I've been trying out new keyboards, in search of the perfect one. Unfortunately for me this was not it. I was used to the feel of my current (but temporary) membrane keyboard, and decided to try the switch back to a mechanical one. (After a previous, disastrous experience with a very buggy Strafe.)Right away I noticed several keying errors. The keys were definitely too sensitive for me. However, the build seemed pretty solid, and I could see why some gamers would actually love this keyboard. Since I was looking for a more all purpose keyboard, I ended up returning it, and eventually settled on a competitor's MX Brown switch keyboard that was more forgiving.I realize the lighting is a big deal to some, but I just simply like the keys all one color, so I didn't play with that much. It can be configured many different ways through the software, but I didn't bother. I got this keyboard on a great sale, but I'm not sure I would pay full price for it, even if I was a gaming enthusiast.
It is absolutely sooo cute., I personally love the clickity clackity noises it makes., I know others wouldn’t agree with me as they like their keyboards silent. I bought this as a gift to my husband (his favorite color is pink) and I wish I bought myself one. You can change the colors of the lights on the keyboard to what you like and it’s super cute and easy to set up. Still pondering on getting myself one.
I purchased this to replace a very old Apple Extended Keyboard II which I had been using for years, but the polling/lag in gaming was becoming very tiresome and noticeable with modern gaming and caught strokes.Pros:The keyboard itself is very well built and the Synapse software is very straight forward to use. I like the metal body of the keyboard too.Playing World of Warcraft and Diablo III, the response time was immediate and apparent compared to my ancient keyboard where sometimes twitchy input would delay or not be registered. After experiencing the response time of a gaming keyboard, I don't think I can switch back to my Apple Extended Keyboard II for gaming.Cons (and why this will be going back to Best Buy):Lack of alt key lighting. After experiencing the response time of a gaming keyboard, I don't think I can switch back to my Apple Extended Keyboard II for gaming.Cons (and why this will be going back to Best Buy):Lack of alt key lighting. Every other major mechanical keyboard maker seems to offer full key lighting. Razer fully illuminates the numeric pad, but the rest of the keyboard fails to illuminate the alt functions of keys. The main problem with this is the keyboard is black and the alt functions are an off grey and hard to see in normal lighting and obviously impossible to see in the dark.It is incredibly loud when typing. Even compared to some of the other mechanical keyboards I tested in store and my previous Apple, this one stands out with just how loud the keystrokes are while typing to the point people in the other room (with the TV on no less) noticed the sound and asked that I shut the door......that was a first. In store, the box had the directional pad exposed so you could feel and hear the keys in action, but it doesn't really let you know just how loud this keyboard is once unleashed outside of the box. Conclusion:I really wanted to like this keyboard as this was my first foray into Razer products, but the loudness and lack of alt key lighting were deal breakers. I'm still giving it three starts though because the core typing experience is very nice and the in game responsiveness is great. If keystroke noise is not an issue and you are a touch typist 100% that never needs to glance at the keyboard for alt key functionality, then this is a great keyboard.
Razer peripherals are usually 10/10 on looks, but varying levels of durability. This keyboard sets a great standard for other manufacturers. When my DasKeyboard Professional with brown switches started failing on me after 4 years, I was up for a new keyboard. Unfortunately I was limping along the Das which kept double-pressing keystrokes. My wife ended up getting a keyboard she wanted more as a gift after having bought this recently, so I've now assumed it. It's SUPER pink. Like, VERY pink. I expected that, but it's super high contrast against my dark desk and mouse mat. Razer Synapse is the best of the best when it comes to customization and this keyboard is no exception. Many awesome presets for flowing color around in varying ways, I love the simulated flame crackling!!Most importantly, the switches! At first I was very apprehensive about the proprietary switches. I was very pleased to find out that they are exceptionally comfortable, well performing, and satisfyingly audible. If you do not like "clicky" keyboards I would move on as this is almost as loud as it gets, but is very nice for those who appreciate that loud feedback. All in all I would recommend this keyboard to anyone, so long as you like pink. ;) If you prefer a different palette, the Huntsman also has a Black color variant too!
