Our daughter absolutely loves to scoot on this Razor scooter! She loves to coast downhill on it too. She looks so calm as she glides by. We were searching for a scooter with large pneumatic wheels for a smooth ride. This scooter delivers on the smooth ride. It handles hard surfaces and a hard packed gravel surface but is not very good on lawn. The front axle is forward of the line of the forks which helps to make the steering more stable. The front and rear hand brakes make it easy and worry free to stop. The base plate can easily accommodate both feet of a 7 year old. Both wheels spin well. They are probably ball bearing wheels. The hand brakes are just regular bicycle side-pull brakes. Set up was easy. It does help to have a second person to help you. Brake adjustment is easy if you have one person to pull on the end of the metal cable with pliers while holding the black cable housing to the caliper. The second person pushes the brake pads to sit several millimeters from the rim while then tightening the lock nut. The inner tubes use standard auto-sized valves. When it comes to inflating the tyres, the clearance between valve tip and wheel is a bit tight, but do-able. The scooter fits in our car trunk for when we want to scoot at the park or bikeway. Overall the build-quality on this scooter feels much more like that of a bicycle than a typical kick scooter.

The kids like it, however I notice some design problems: The deck is short for standing on, so wish deck area was a little bigger/longer. There is no fender/fender brake like other kick scooters for the back wheel, so sometimes I put foot on the back wheel by accident when it is moving. There is a turn stop on the front wheel handlebar, so you can only turn the front wheel about 45 degrees in either direction of center. The lack of being able to turn the front wheel more than 45 degrees makes it difficult to turn around and go back the way you just came if you are going back and forth in front on the sidewalk. Basically you have to pick up the scooter to turn it around. There is no kickstand. An optional kickstand would be nice.

This is a fun and smooth riding scooter. It's pretty quick to put together, with clear instructions. You will need to adjust the brakes, and I had to look up a YouTube video to figure it out, but it wasn't too bad. The tires are big for a scooter, but to pump it up, it's kind of awkward getting the pump to attach because of the wide spokes. It says it's ages 8+, but my 6 year old loves it, and he can use the brakes. He's kind of a small 6 year old. I'd say it's perfect for 8-12 year olds. I was able to ride it, and I weigh about 195, and am 5'9. I do wish the handles would raise like other Razor scooters, but I like the bike like tires and the handle brakes. It makes going up driveway and corner curbs way nicer than a normal scooter with the small wheels. Overall, ... MoreThis is a fun and smooth riding scooter. Well after our child received this for Christmas, on his first use he had complained that the brakes didn't work. So like any big box store bike, it was obvious that the brakes needed some adjustment. Not a biggy. Well the first issue was the rear brake cable was mis-manufactured and frayed. Again -no biggy, called razor support and a new cable is on its way. From there, I was able to adjust the brakes but no matter what a person does they rub on the wheels. Upon further inspection, found that the wheels are not "true" and there is about 1/4 inch of run-out as the wheel spins. So no matter what a person does the brake will always rub on the high spot of the wheel (both front and rear), that or you have to adjust the brakes so loose that they don't work. So no matter what a person does the brake will always rub on the high spot of the wheel (both front and rear), that or you have to adjust the brakes so loose that they don't work. Called Razor and raised the concern, and with no questions asked there is a new set of wheels getting shipped. Long story short, the scooter looks nice and reminds me of the one I had growing up in the early 90s. The manufacturing quality on the other hand is not the best (not that I had the bar set very high for a product that costs just over a hun). In the end, the support from Razor is quick and incurs minimal hassle... hopefully the new wheels show up and they spin true. If I hadn't experienced these issues, I would give it a 5 star.
DO NOT BUY! This scooter has a single snap button pin holding the handle bars to the Y fork Bar (where the front wheel is). I bought this scooter almost exactly one year ago and this dumb pin has broken twice! My 10 year old is NOT abusing this scooter, or riding hard. No tricks or crazy stunts just regular riding. When you contact the company, instead of sending you a .30 cent piece they can ONLY send the entire fork and they charge you for it. RIDICULOUS from a company like RAZOR that specializes in scooters. This is a really poor deisgn choice, becuase when that 30 cent pin breaks the $150 scooter is unsafe to ride. Buy a different brand.
My kids LOVE that this scooter can run over bumps better than their standard razor scooter! My 7 year old loves the hot pink color, and my 12 year old loves the way it glides! It was even fun for the adults to ride around on.One complaint I have is how hard it is to pump up the tires, It was a challenge to get around the spokes. I would love to see this improved on! Also, the tool that came with it to adjust the nuts didn't quit fit the nuts. This was disappointing! But otherwise, it was super easy to put together. The only other complaint is I wish the handle bar raised on it. Overall, It is a great scooter and my kids love it!
This is such an awesome scooter! The dual hand brakes, and wider wheels allowed my 6 year old to ride it easily. The wide skateboard type deck make it comfortable for my older teens to ride it. The BMX style tires allow for a smooth Ride. Putting it together took less than 15 minutes. I did not experience a hard time adjusting the brakes like some other reviewers mentioned. My boys love this scooter and it definitely gets a lot of attention when we take it to the park! I would definitely recommend this scooter! It's built to last.
We gathered with some friends to watch football, and the kids were able to compete in a scooter contest using the new Flashback Razor Scooter. I set up some cones, and the fastest time received the grand prize...candy and more candy. Here is a picture of some of our friends and the winner with the fastest time. My kids and I (dad) have Razor Ripstiks and the kids have Razor Kick Scooters, so this scooter was a nice change of pace because of its size and large tires. The adults enjoyed the smooth ride, but the kids found it to be too heavy and slower. One major flaw for such a large scooter was no kickstand. The assembly appeared to be no problem until it came time to secure the brake lines. That took quite a bit of time and was well beyond my 10-year-old's ability.
I purchased this scooter for my 6-year-old grandson. It was relatively easy to put together with the included tools. However, adjusting the brakes was a complete pain. Even with the use of an appropriately sized ratchet and implicitly following the instructions, the brake pads barely touch the rim. Not sure if this is a design flaw or the particular scooter we received was defective. Despite the previous, my grandson loves it!
Boy does this bring back memories for me. Razor hit the spot with the flashback of this scooter. I’d like to start with assembly, mine came packaged in a large box, the handle bars (with break line already connected and handled) the body of the scooter and the 2 wheels. It was so simple that for me, the direction manual actual confused me/us (had to call in the hubby for backup). You pop in the handle bars, which have a “pop through a hole” when they are in, you attach the wheels, that come with all the parts needed already in place on the wheel, with the provided tools! There’s a black 1 inch plastic “thing” around the screw on each wheel that is NOT represented in the instructions, leading me to believe (as the instructions were very thorough) it was simply a ... MoreBoy does this bring back memories for me. There’s a black 1 inch plastic “thing” around the screw on each wheel that is NOT represented in the instructions, leading me to believe (as the instructions were very thorough) it was simply a buffer for shipping purposes (like most toys have addition plastic etc) because I didn’t want to assemble it wrong I took them off, assembled, hubby came in and said NO THOSE GO ON THERE, reassembled and NOW FOR THE AMAZING PART (also for clarity still with my mistake it took ME about 6 minutes to assemble and reassemble this so it’s EXTREMELY SIMPLE TO PUT TOGETHER FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESNT ASSEMBLE trust me!) My son has just turned 7, we live somewhere that’s typically 9 months of cold/winter so bike riding is slim and we are just attempting to push him on the “no training wheel needed” Bravia service we see he rides with them up but he’s terrified to do it (a bad fall he will not ever forget lol) . So I take it outside with tons of blacktop space expecting to PUSH him on it and coddle him so that he doesn’t fall, (hey I’m mom, it’s a real issue lol!) since I’m an 80s baby I consider myself an all around ROCKSTAR on anything with wheels , so I show him once and NO JOKE, HE TAKES OFF on this thing, fully responsible for his own balance and hasn’t looked back in over a week now! It was a whole “thing” for us, realizing in the driveway my baby isn’t a baby, him feeling his first “rush” of excitement and confidence to balance without help or training wheels. We may need therapy after all this, I’m not quite sure how but the RAZOR SCOOTER leveled up this entire summer. Now I’d love to add that dad is 32 and since he’s a “pro” (I know you saw those air quotes and feel my eye roll lol) it’s also great for older kids (adults too) because I think he had a flashback as well as he zoomed trying to do fancy tricks. My 7 year old kicked him off and reclaimed his new scooter as he should, and has been showing off ever since. Love the simplicity of assemble, love the vibe of the throwback and OF CORSE LOVE the brand name backing a WELL MADE SCOOTER! FIN!
