Don't waste your money. I can't even tie my boots because there's a huge lump of leather that jabs my foot where the tongue meets the vamp. The right boot was lasted crooked, not acceptable on a 300 + dollar pair of boots. The laces were to short right out of the box, and the welt stitching has a crooked jog in it that again, shouldn't be on an expensive pair of boots. I'm going back to my previous brand, they are superior in every way at half the price. Sorry, just being honest.

The red wing boots is a great boots. However, I ran into difficulties with the uncomfortableness of certain areas with a cork on my balls of my feet. I tried on various pairs and they all felt different and better . I started with a size 10 and ended up with a size 9, during the trials of those varieties of pairs , some of the cork didnāt bother me at all in a few of the boots however in others it bothered me a lot. I tried 7 pairs from 2 different stores and found that a size 9 fit me best I donāt understand I would love to get a pair of redwing boots. Again I love these and own currently at least 5 different styles and have previously had more....and I must admit that i truly enjoy every one. These are one of my favorites BUT i was given a recommendation based of foot sizing and after breaking them in my feet hang off the footbed. I've worn them maybe 15-20x on vacations or special trips into the city and they were great and held my feet in until the leather broke itself in and allowed my feet to hang off. Hoping these something you can help me.with. Will upload photos tomorrow

This boot just arrived and I couldn't be happier. Like all well-built boots in this category there will be a break-in period, but I have to say that right out of the box, they were pretty good. I am a 10.5 sneaker, with a moderately high arch and normal width foot. I went 10D and that is where I need to be. The fit and finish of the boot is absolute quality. The leather and unique single piece heal construction drove my decision and WOW is it great looking. Love the support of the 8 inch for days in rougher terrain and for rolling pant legs to keep the wet grass from wicking up my pant legs in the morning. One thing that is a personal preference: I like the eyelets to the top, not speed hooks. I had my own pair that lasted for 20 years with many resoles. Back then we had a choice of a more rugged black lugged sole in addition to the traditional tred sole and of course they had the speed hooks! Not sure why Red Wing got rid of the speed hooks for a boot like this. I think they're essential. Fortunately, they are cheap and easy to add. I just resoled my latest set using the old Beckman Vibram sole so I can get by wearing them to the office on casual days for a more refined look. I bought these boots a month ago I use them to go out but the moment I put them on realized they were not even as close as comfortable compared to my other Irish Setter Wing-shooter boot. Theses heritage were a lot more expensive but right away felt all the stitching inside the boot rub against my foot and toes. I mean they can use some padding on the sides to cover leather stitchings. Another thing the insole has zero padding. Think of putting some dr sholls inserts to cushion my feet. The looks are great and all looks perfect outside but can definitely use more padding in the inside.When I put my Irish Setter wing shooters felt instant comfort and felt lkke walking on clouds. But these heritage are not even close. I was told the 877 would take some time to get comfortable in and it certainly lived up to that for me. My Gore-Tex Moc was extremely comfortable from the first day but it took a good week or so of significant wearing of the 877 to get to the point where it was not causing aches or blisters. (I made sure it was the proper size too which I know could be an additional source of pain for people.)However, now that the break in period is over I am extremely happy with this boot. I would caution to any first-time boot buyer that this might be a later purchase after experiencing a break-in period. I do not write reviews for anything, but my wife urged me to leave this note. I worked in my iron rangers everyday for six yearsā¦loved them but became frustrated that the leather in the vamp began to split so I couldnāt resole them. Thinking it was a leather quality issue, I changed to Nickās boots. While they are amazing quality boots, I just missed the feel of the red wings with the cork midsole. Iāve returned to red wing for the 877 and am so happy I did. The fit and feel are really unmatchedā¦and Iām determined to take better care of the uppers this time to get decades of use out of them. As long as the 877 is in production they will be on my feetā¦I am a lifelong red wing customer.
Just got my 20 year old 877 boots back from Red Wing with the Traction Tred Lite sole and am very impressed. This is my third resole on these boots and probably the last! The boots look great. This sole is so comfortable and actually feels like Iām walking on very cushiony running shoes. The more aggressive tread is much better on slippery surfaces, too. Also, itās said to be a much more durable sole than the original. When itās time for a resole, I highly recommend this sole. Red Wing should put this sole on all their wedge sole boots.

Wore them mostly around house for several weeks during my most painful break in. Big snow storm came. Shoveled snow off driveway 3x after a couple feet of snow fell few couple weeks time.
