Classic, well made and authentically American. The color is perfect. However, the leather is incredibly stiff so much so that I used a leather moisturizer to try to loosen them up. The inside of the shoe is well constructed but you will need to add a cushion insole - they are really hard. I ordered 1/2 size down anticipating an insole and prob could have gone down one whole size.

Just got these in the black cherry leather. Leather is absolutely beautiful…my favorite of all except for the navy portage, which is my favorite of all leathers ever. Solid and thick construction. The more I wear, the better they look, the more I love. Pleas Red Wing, never discontinue the black cherry leather, and pleas bring back the navy.
I have bought this first Classic Moc Boots in Nuremberg, Germany last week and yes, it is some hard time to wear them in. After one week, they are still a bit stiff, but they get better and better every day. The quality and comfort is outstanding and worse every (Euro-)Cent. I am pretty sure, that this will not be my last pair of Red Wings!For everybody who thinks about buying some, please go to a good dealer and wear them before you buy them! And also wear them with good, thick socks in the beginning.Best greetings from Germany.
Best and most beautiful boots I have ever owned. 3 stars only because RW refuses to make all moc toe colorways available in wide widths, and any inquiry to customer service results in a vague apology & no reason offered as to why not all moc’s are offered in W.
I can’t wear these for more than 20 minutes and I have blisters on back of my heels. I’ve worn them roughly 10 times and still not getting better. What’s the trick to breaking these in??? I’m ready to trash them!
It seems like Backcountry has switched to a new Customer Service. Received the boots I ordered and there was a manufacturing defect. I contacted Customer Service. The person I spoke I could barely understand (looks like an outsource service). He told me to send photos of the defect which I did, and he would get back to me. After I never heard back, I called. I spoke with another representative who knew the guy I was dealing with and would give him my message. Never heard back so I ended up just returning the boots. Backcountry Customer Service was always top notch. This new service was very disappointing.
Just received the Black Cherry version. Not my first pair, and I am already trying to decide which one will be my next. But for the life of me, I don't understand why they don't offer more of these with the big Vibram Lug soles (i.e Roughneck). Those are so much better in the winter if you live in the north country. If Red wing was really sharp, they would have some kind of configuration tool like other premium bootmaker's have and people could design their own from a pre-determined pallet of materials.
I really want to love this shoes, unfortunately the pair I received today have "lots of cut and scratch marks". package is in great condition but shoe box was obviously damaged, I have to pay $6.99 to return it! have not returned anything for years and this is NOT pleasant experience.
