Redken Extreme Shampoo - 300ml

Excellent for damaged hair! I used this in conjunction with the conditioner and Extreme Anti Snap Leave In Treatment. The combination made a huge difference to my hair: split ends, texture, snapping and frizz, all reduced. Tried using them separately and got decent results but more so when using together. If my hair is heat damaged again I will re-purchase. Lathers well and smells lovely. Just be careful not to use too frequently as this helps to get protein back in the hair but there is only so much protein treatment the hair can tolerate, a saturation point, after which hair can become brittle/dry and snap. Caused Hair Fallout

I was really liking this shampoo/conditioner combo at first. I am a fickle person so I usually have 2-3 combos on the go at once and so I was only using this set every 3-4 washes. I started using this consistently recently and noticed A TON of hair fallout after rinsing. I always brush through my hair before showering and had no more than usual hair in my comb/brush but then had huge globs of hair in my hands in the shower after rinsing to the point where it was clogging the drain! I stopped using and instead used my other set of shampoo/conditioner from another brand for 3 showers and guess what? Almost no hair fallout. I did nothing different in terms of styling or other products used so it has to be this set.

Do not buy!

I have thick hair with a lot of volume and after using this shampoo and conditioner my hair started to fall out in big chunks! I started doubting my health and I was an emotional mess. Until my 12 year old daughter decided to use it and her hair fell out too! More than usual... then i decided to research and it turns out we aren't the only ones. They really should look into these products and remove them. Playing with people's emotions is not good; I am at peace knowing im not sick. Please do not buy. I do have processed her but my daughter has virgin hair just in case you were wondering.

Great for after highlights

I use this after getting very light highlights on my natural fine dark blonde hair & it really helps keep it healthy!! My hair doesn't look damaged. The Redken products with the Ph and protein really help. This one is great for the first wash after a treatment and then I also use their Redken Bonding Shampoo & Conditioner. I alternate with the 2 different lines for my hair wash schedule and they really keep my hair healthy!! I have very fine natural dark blonde baby hair, I have a lot of it, but it is super fine and a lot of products just leave my hair gross, these leave my hair amazing!! Everyone asks me what I use. These are just great!!

So I'm a natural and I have a combination of 4A/4B hair. Back in the summer of 2022 I had my hair professionally straightened for the first time in a few years. After several weeks of washing my hair like normal my hair continued to be bone straight. Months later I just decided I would have to start over. The Redken brand was recommended to me by a coworker so I decided to give it a try. My natural hair typically loves pantene but since having it straightened, my hair doesn't respond well to that anymore either. Nothing has been working. So I gave this a try the other day and literally for the first time since summer of 2022 I was able to easily wash and detangle my hair with my current situation (having 2 textures of coily hair combined with damaged straight hair). Not only was I able to truly detangle my hair from the first time (from root to tip) but I noticed A LOT LESS breakage when washing with this shampoo and the mask than I would normally have during my normal routine using my regular shampoo and conditioner. Mind you, the pantene I normally use has been what I've been using since about 2015. When I tried this shampoo I replaced the conditioner with the mask instead which may have helped with the results too, I'm not sure. But I will continue to use this product and see if I get even better results over time. If you have damaged hair and have been struggling definitely give this a try. I'm so glad I did. I feel like if I continue to use this line then I may not have to do a huge chop and cut off several inches of my hair. We shall see. I was skeptical at first because there were so many negative reviews compared to positive reviews even though the ratings were high so I was very nervous to spend $100 on 3 hair products but I am so glad I did.

I never thought I would spend this much money on hair products but recently my hair started changing. I all of a sudden had problems with breakage and it was getting worse so I finally decided to try this along with the Extreme Conditioner & 25 Benefits and I am so happy I did! I've been using these products for almost 2 months now and have noticed a significant difference in breakage & growth. My hair has WAY less breakage than before and I've even noticed new hair growth as well. My friend has also been using these products the same amount of time as me and her waves/curls are more defined instead of frizzy, less breakage and more growth. Never received so many compliments

Ever since using this specific duo from Redken, my hair has been in the best condition I’ve ever seen it. Everybody tells me my hair looks so healthy. I had previously dyed my hair for 10 years (bleach blonde) and have grown my natural hair out, to way past my shoulders by using this. My hair is thick, glossy and so healthy. Wouldn’t use anything else after this. I actually used Garnier’s coconut (brown bottle) shampoo, in between purchases of Redken, and my hair looked so frizzy. So the current condition is definitely down to this shampoo and conditioner.

Shea moisture products are 110% more better for "damaged" or "dyed" or "dry" hair. The redken line will only damage your hair more in the long run and you won't notice until it's too late. Redken products do not own up to the expectations given. After every shower, I use Marc Anthony leave in conditioner (like $14). I only use a little bit for extra hydration. The only reason I need this now is Bc of using redken for the past 2 years. I had went on vacation and bought travel side shea moisture & the Marc Anthony leave in. My hair had never felt softer !!!! Then I came home & used my redken shampoo & conditioner. My softness did not come back & it was completely dry & hoarse like - even with my leave in. Then I bought shea moisture for my next shower & washed my hair. The softness came back & my hair looked and felt healthy again. So in conclusion, if you are to buy this shampoo, I advise to only use it once or twice a month for a "deep cleaning" ... redken products are filled with sulfates, even though they swear they aren't. Literally just turn the bottle around and you will see about 2-3 different sulfates. Go buy that $7 shampoo bc redken ain't it hun, trust me..

This stuff truly helps repair damaged hair!

This shampoo actually does what it says. When I first bought this, my hair was damaged and dry and the ends were very dead. My hair lady told me I needed to find something more hydrating bc my hair was struggling. I bought this shampoo hoping for the best and it did deliver. I've used it for maybe 2 or 3 months and I recently had a hair appointment and my hair dresser commented on how much better/healthier my hair looked! I used this blue bottle along with the ultra soft conditioner (the gold bottle). My only complaint with this shampoo is that it makes my hair pretty greasy by the second or third day (I think because it's so hydrating). I'm sure a good dry shampoo would help with that. Zero stars if I could

I bought the shamooo and conditioner because my hair dresser suggested it and the reviews were mostly outstanding. Unfortunately I fell into the small group of people that do not like it at all. Here was my experience after using it twice. I had triple the amount of hair loss in the shower. My hair felt extremely tangled. I use a wet comb after the shower and comb from bottom up. My hair felt like a sticky clumpy mess. During the comb out process I lost another full handful of hair. It felt sticky and stretchy during the blow dry. My hair felt ok after it was dry but tangles easily. My scalp is also very very itchy and flakes. My scalp has never been dry before. I will never buy this again. I'm thankful for ultas hassle free return policy. Sad that I lost SO much hair!
