Reebok Work Men's Rapid Response RB8874 Safety

(545 reviews)

Reebok's Rapid Response combat boots offer phenomenal fit, protection and comfort. The flexible Tailex lining moves with the foot with each step, helping to prevent blisters and other foot injuries, and creates small air pockets in the boot, giving the foot room to breathe. It also wicks away moisture, which rapidly evaporates as soon as the boot is removed, reducing the growth of bacteria that could cause mildew or odor. The Rapid Response also protects the foot in several ways. The ASTM F2413-05-rated composite toe guards the foot from compressive loads up to 2,500 pounds and impacts up to 75 pounds. A Shock Eliminator heel cushion and dual-density outsole absorb shock, while a dual-density polyurethane cushion and EVA midsole protect the sole of the foot. No need to fumble with laces at the end of a tough mission. The durable YKK side zipper allows for rapid on-off.

I've been wearing these boots since before Reebok bought Converse, at least 9 years. As a Correctional Officer, I do a lot of walking and, once they're broken in, these are the most comfortable boots I've owned. The only reason I'm not rating them 5 stars is because of the break-in process: the first 2 or 3 shifts, they'll blister your feet. After that, though, they've lasted a minimum of 2 years before having to be replaced.

Better when they were converse, but best boot ever still.

I have been wearing these sows since they were converse labeled 10 years ago. They were a lot more durable when they were labeled converse forsure. I get just over 1 to 1.5 years max on them before they are worn out. That's every day use in very greasy, heavy industrial work. When tread is worn smooth in large spots I dem them wallared out and take them out of service for personsl safety reasons. I actually have personal safety morals that I take to heart I dont like slipping and falling anymore than normal on the average hungover, demoralized, dead end career thats talked way up work day as a Wind Turbine Technician. Like I said when they were converse they were made by Asian kids that were fed very good meals with dessert even and loved to make a quality product. ... MoreI have been wearing these sows since they were converse labeled 10 years ago. Over the years the brand changed, boots still said converse on them but the box said Reebok, then full out reebok conversion happened, the kids got fed less and less, they got beat on more, electronic shock therapy pads were attached to yhe workers and a low shock was administered to them if their production of product was falling behind and shock increased as they progressed failed to keep up the pace, production pressures really ramped up on them to fill the demand and they stopped caring about building a robust quality product that holds up %100 until the boot is evenly worn out. Now the inside where your heal wears on the boot lining comes separated from main boot support which is just annoying when trying to take the boot off as the guts try to cum out with your foot and one year they really skimped on the zipper and zipper would split on you. They did warrenty that pair and sent me a bran new pair that held up just fine. All that said I still buy and wear them because they are the best hot weather boot made. Only feed back is that they should treat the kids making these a bit better like they used to. Their product quality would get that extra bump for the better. Our employees have gone thru what these kids are right now. We went from world class professional quality workmanship to underpaid janitor being asked to be a journyman electrician at farm labor rates. Save your workforce while you can!

These boots have the most flex, the best insert, the best lacing and zip side I've ever seen and felt. Also, they're comfortable after 12 hours! I didn't think the term stealth meant anything, but these boots are super quiet . Minimal break in! They run pretty dead on, so if you think you need a wide, get it. I got 13 double wides and they are perfect. No more pushing on your heel to get your boots off after a long day. Unzip, and go. Same with the start of the day.Do yourself a favor. I know the price is a little more than you pay at Walmart or for stuff at tractor supply.. but take the time and invest in these. They are the best freakin' boots ever. Great Boot
18 December 2022

I purchased these for work. I am on concrete floors, trailer floors, and forklifts for 12+ hours a day. They are light and comfortable. I did switch the insoles for better cushioning and support. Otherwise this is one great boot.

Great boots
26 April 2022

These boots are fantastic. I have been ordering boots in similar styles for decades now, and I have ordered multiple pairs of these particular boots over the last few years. I plan to continue ordering them for as long as I can find them for sale in my size. I wear them both for my regular everyday street wear, and for my work boots as a cnc machinist. They are light weight compared to many other work boots with similar protective qualities to what these boots have. They are some of the most comfortable foot wear I have ever worn. I have never had any issues with these boots, and only change them out because eventually they get pretty banged up from wearing them to work everyday.

Horrible

Very disappointed with this boot. Returned immediately. I bought the 6” pair at the beginning of the year and they are the best shoes I’ve owned less the side zip Velcro not staying attached all the time. So I bought these 8” ones for winter. I love the way these look, but that piece behind the ankle/heel is unacceptable! I originally thought it might have been a defect but after reading way into the reviews I see that others have had the same problem. Someone had to use gauze?? I took 15 steps in these and Immediately started feeling major discomfort and rubbing on the back/sides of my ankle, with thick socks on! It is that “support” piece that looks like cheap leather paper. I’ve bought a lot from this site and this is not something I would expect from them. I ... MoreVery disappointed with this boot. I would highly recommend discontinuing the sale of these boots. Whoever designed these shoes should try on a pair and walk around for an hour and see if their ankles aren’t rubbed raw. The design difference between the 6” and 8” is crazy. 0.5 stars because it isn’t wearable. It might as well be a door stop.

Not bad
6 January 2020

As someone else stated, the biggest issue with these is that the zipper is somehow positioned just wrong so that it applies constant pressure on your ankle. I am going to give these a few more wearings for break-in purposes to see if it'll relax at all. I honestly can't understand why these are ANY different from the Converse made ones, which is what I am replacing. If you buy the rights to manufacture someone else's design, why change it? The other oddity is that the laces are about 4 inches shorter. Again, why? Other than that, so far they are a very close replacement for the Converse brand. Too bad they weren't jdentjcal, then we wouldn't have to be pouring over reviews to find the flaws.

Not the most comfortable, but long-lasting!
11 May 2019

I've had a pair of these boots (labeled as Converse, but the same boot), since 2010. I bought these boots because I was traveling all over the globe to lots of industrial plant sites. These boots supported me climbing ladders, walking on grating, and logging miles around plant sites. I've also used them as my duty boots. They have held up amazingly well over the years. They do leave your feet pretty sore after prolonged wear though. Even with better insoles. Now they are about shot because the soles are separating from the rest of the boot. They've already been glued once. Now, they need to be demoted to yard work boots.

Not what I have come to expect from Reebok
15 April 2022

Bought these after I almost wore out previous ones. These are not even close to previous pair in comfort, fit and wear.Medium width on this pair fits wider. Cranking down the laces creates gathering on toe end of boot. Not good.Right foot zipper broke. I compared the zipper material to my old pair. These zippers not as "substantial" as my previous ones.
