Comfortable and good grip

A comfortable boot with good grip. Not quite as waterproof as hoped due to low ish ankle height. Doesn’t have lace hooks at the top of the boot so not as easy to take off and on.

Comfortable and sturdy for a year.

The boots wear in quickly then you can insert gel soles from the supermarket. Water resistant rather than water proof use silicone spray before muddy conditions. The outer fabric frays after a year. The seams on the front of the sole and toe may need to be caulked with latex glue by then. Lack of metal hooks is a plus for those who want to avoid them. Postage from the UK is disproportionate to the purchase price. Comfortable and sturdy but only expect a year's hard use.

Comfortable boots but if I was doing a long walk I would want extra socks and the boots would not be big enough. I wear size 9 shoes and bought these, also in size 9, and they are a tight fit. I am only walking the dog so they are more than adequate. Truly waterproof - I was worried just how waterproof they could be but I have been out in all weathers, walking through long, wet, grass and my feet haven't got the slightest bit wet.

Did not last
14 June 2024

Bought these on behalf of a friend in January this year for when he walks his dog so not for any heavy duty walking at all they haven't lasted at all the soles split on both boots and let in when raining. I have had to send them back for a refund which hasn’t been received yet!Not impressed by these at all!

Disappointed
4 February 2024

Size is a lot smaller than normal. When walking it restricts foot movement especially the forefoot. Overall the boot is comfortable but rigid when walking and may need more breaking into. Haven’t had a chance to wear it in wet conditions so can’t comment on whether it’s waterproof or not.

Good quality lightweight boots
29 April 2024

These are really comfortable, lightweight walking boots. The grip is excellent, and so far they seem waterproof, though without a Goretex-style membrane I wouldn't use them in winter. My only criticism is that I paid an extra ÂŁ10 for the peat and gold colouring, yet the 'peat' is actually dull grey - I certainly wouldn't have paid the extra had I known. The photograph is not representative. This is the only reason I knocked off 1 star.

Competitively priced, mid-range walking boots. I've had a pair of these previously, and was satisfied with comfort, waterproofing and longevity. I also have the hiking shoe variant, which is my footwear of choice for walking my dog. For context, my other boots are Merrell Moab 3 (of which I've had four pairs over as many years) and Berghaus Hillmaster (currently on my fourth pair in 15 years). I favour the Merrells for most of my hillwalking and tend towards for Hillmasters when hiking in boggy ground. Most of my hill walks are circa 10 miles with around 2,000 - 2,500 feet of ascent, and I'll average two or three of such hikes per month. They're not quite as comfortable as Moabs in my view but are nonetheless fit for purpose and are great value for money.

Smaller than usual
6 June 2024

This was my 5th pair of these boots, but something has changed. Previous boots have given a good fit straight out of the box, but this pair are smaller. On the first walk my big toes was rubbing on the inside making them very soar, so cannot ware them any more. As I have used them cannot return.

Waterproof boots
8 February 2024

Got these for my partner to walk the dog in any weathers. He is getting used to them. He found the laces a bit difficult and fiddly but are fairly comfortable. I think they will soften up with wear.

Waterproof, sturdy, comfortable
6 November 2021

I bought these for my son, he's 14 and liked the look of them online. I'm pleased to say he was also happy with the fit and they are excellent quality for the price. I'm not an expert and we don't go hiking all day or anything but these are decent walking boots for his outdoor adventures, (climbing, kayaking, walking in the woods, getting muddy etc.) I didn't want to pay the earth for something he will grow out of soon. I would recommend them.
