Good customere service, they sent me a pre-paid label for a return and were very accomondating when I asked for a refund. As for the product itself, I think the Spitz does about what the website advertises it to do. My problem was that some over-enthuastic YouTube video made some faulty claims. A couple of Youtubers have suggested that the Spitz works with ANY SIM card, and that any cell phone plan with unlimited data will give the SPitz unlimited data. That's not true. Most SIM cards will not work in this device and most SIM card data plans include limits on what they call "hotspot data" so even if you have a plan that advertises "unlimited data," and you get it working for the SPitz, the Spitz will stop working ing just a fews days. I think this would be about enough for 1, maybe 2 people, who do casual internet use. But it will never be enough for a whole family, or enough for gamers or people who use a lot of internet. It provides impressively fast internet, considering the price, but it's not a replacement for your regular household plan.Again, none of this is the fault of the device. It's designed to be used for RVs and to be compatible with ATT & T-Moibile and just a few other carriers. I think people who use it as it is actually intended will be happy with it, and I am grateful that I was given a refund when it did not fit my situation.

The item shipped as they said the same day I ordered and it in three days it arrived. (shipped to CA).Was super easy to setup and get working. I am using this as my secondary Internet provider for my home office. I use pfSense as my primary firewall to automatically failover to the GL-X3000 when myPrimary Internet goes down. I have enabled Tailscale to allow access to my LAN from the public Internet and it works without issues. It did take some research to change the settings so that it would not use hotspot data on the cell network, but once I made the changes I have had no issues.I am very happy to see how easily firmware updates are shown in the admin console. I am hopeful to see higher uploads and downloads once I get the external antenna. Having the external antenna connections made it one of the primary reasons for selecting this unit.I did place the unit outside of my house and with just the supplied antennas I got almost a 30% increase in both uploads and downloads.I did try the Netgear M6 Pro and returned it for the GL-X3000 for several reasons, price, night and day increase of features, the ability to have additional add-on like Tailscale and hole home ad blocking, and nicer antenna connections. I am so happy that I switch to this device.

The GL-X3000 is a not what I expected; to be honest I didn’t have very high expectations. I was way wrong and very glad I decided to purchase this device. So far I am very pleased with this unit. It was easy to setup and I had no issues getting the Mint Mobile service working with this device. My 5G coverage is very weak in my area so I have also purchased the Waveform QuadMini 4x4 MIMO antenna for this unit. The design with the four (4) SMA external connectors was one of the reasons I selected this device as I knew I would need to get an external antenna. From just moving the unit from the inside of my house to the outside I was able to get almost a 30% increase in both upload and download speeds. Once I receive the Waveform antenna I hope to get that even higher.I did first try the Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro with an external antenna, but the feature set was basically on/off. The external antenna connectors did not seem as nice as the SMA that come with the GL-X3000. The price of the GL-X3000 is almost half of the Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro. Returning the M6 Pro was the right decision.I am not using many of the excellent options that the GL-X3000 offers as I have it connected into my pfSense firewall as a secondary Internet for my home. I did enable Tailscale on the device to ensure that I have access back into my home network when I am out and my primary Internet is out. With some Google searching I was able to configure the GL-X3000 to stop using Hotspot data and utilize phone data. Which makes this device that much better over other devices.I will update my review when I have more time using this device, but so far I see nothing wrong with this unit and highly recommend it.

We purchased this cellular Gateway/router to replace our T-Mobile Trashcan we had been using. Over the last couple of years though it just got slower and slower as more people signed up for service on our area. We read about GL-3000 Spitz AX on Reddit as a great alternative to the TM provided gateway. After seeing the $600 price tags for other brand 3rd party gateway we decided on the GL. inet Gateway. It was easy to set up and we immediately saw our download go from 150MBPS to 500+MPS(we often see it go as high as 750). . . and uploads went from 10MBPS to over 50+ MBPS. We can now down zoom meetings with no issues. For the price this little 5g Cellular Gateway cannot be beat.It also has great phone app. Way better than anything T-Moblie has.
As for the product? This is a sweet little cellular router. I probably only use a fraction of its capabilities, since this device only acts as a 5G LTE backup connection for me in front of another, primary (pfSense) firewall. But, I was able to do exactly what I wanted with it. It provides me with a basic 5G LTE connection and a Wireguard tunnel to obscure the traffic. It works great with my carrier using a manual APN. I'm able to pull in strong signal with the substantial antennas in a less than ideal crawl space location. As for speeds, I'm getting 250/90mbps and that's likely mostly limited by the carrier itself. This was a substantial increase from my much older 4G LTE device. It's so good I'm starting to route certain types of traffic over my LTE as opposed to my primary internet connection. If you were using this in a "normal" single firewall configuration, I think you'd be quite pleased with it. It is a functional multi-WAN router with native 4G/5G LTE capabilities. The interface is slick, easy to use and it has all the modern amenities of current gen routers. Since it's based on OpenWRT, you're getting a capable platform without a bunch of proprietary nonsense. You can do basic internet things, create failover internet and even advanced things with the capable software. Sure, it's a little on the pricey side...but almost all of that is going into the quality hardware that you're getting. As for ordering direct from GL.Inet? It was a great experience. I know I could have ordered from Amazon, but lately, I've been trying to avoid them more and more. Shipping to me did have a little hiccup due to my location, but customer service reached out and got me taken care of. Delivery was much faster than Amazon and I saved a bit of money as well. I'd order direct again, so that tells you something.
Worked Great, straight out of the box! This is my first GL.iNet purchased and I am impressed.I like this cellular modem router because of the Open WRT software used, which will keep on receiving firmware upgrades for years to come, when compared to other well known western-based brands. The Spitz was easy as to configure, especially when setting up Mullvad Wireguard too, which then masks the connection ip address & protects every device connecting via the cellular gateway. I am really glad I switched, it’s been completely trouble experience so far with the Spitz AC (GL3000) 5G g 🤩I intend to use this for connectivity (when in mobile range) for my new liveaboard sailboat in the next few months, when I move off grid and using my boat’s LiFePo4 batteries 👍
Connects and setup to the internet is easy including restricting others from using your connection to the internet. However a Firewall plugin unlike all other consumer router is sadly missing, the average Joe could not block or open certain ports without a good understanding of how openwrt works, there should be a simple firewall menu driven page to configure out of box requirements especially considering the high end price.Wifi speed is excellent and setting up two or three connection to the internet as fall backs in case one goes down is exceptional.Battery back is one of the feature that also drew me to this router a must have where power is unreliable or for security systems etc.Would I buy again yes should they install a simple plugin firewall app ... I had no trouble setting up and connecting to T-Mobile. I used a hotspot SIM and got great download speeds until T-Mobile started throttling. But, I was not able to give this device a good test. I was not able to access the band locking feature. Even though I could connect to my PC's without trouble, I was not able to connect either of my android phones to WiFi network (I would get an error message that the password was wrong event though it was correct). The Wifi lights lit up, but the Internet lights never lit up and I was unable to connect to T-Mobile. I also inserted the test SIM that comes with the Spitz AX. No luck.I am truly dissapointed with this product. I wanted to use this in my RV. The size of the Spitz AX is great. The fact that you can attach it to a window with the provided sticky pad is great. What would really be great is if the Spitz AX devices actually worked. The rating are good, so why did I get 2 devices that were defective? The good news for me is that both devices crapped out within a couple of days. Imagine if they dropped dead after the 30 day Amazon return window.
As a resident of UAE, living in high tower with a 5G wireless Home plan, a brick like router with internal Antennas (included with the plan), the Cellular signal was way less than acceptable. The setup browser page was very easy and straightforward. In less than 2 minutes I had it up and running with 5G NSA connection. the reference signal parameters were excellent for LTE and good to fair at 5G, with the device resting on a table inside the living room.Once I finished setting up the WiFi connection, I moved the device closer to the window, the 5G NSA reference signal turned into excellent! Speed tests fluctuated between 90-200 Mbps for Download, and 35-60 Mbps for Upload (High figures were obtained during off-peak hours tests). That's 5x times the figures I had with the brick like ISP's router.I hanged the router to the Glass using a heavy duty double sided mounting Tape. Unfortunately, I cannot attach an external antenna as the tower has a fully glazed exterior. Have to accept what the device's antennas provide. The router is full of features and services and the support is awesome. Everything I need to learn about is documented, backed-up with tutorials and a forum with generous and polite members.I cannot ask for more. It has everything a home would need plus advanced features for small to medium office (like VPN, QoS, port forwarding, etc.). Probably, what one could ask for is to have firewall filtering by Application and/or country to safe guard his family/business.GL support team provides dedicated support channel via application and email. They respond fast and can remotely access your device to help you tune it and configure it based on your needs, if granted your access permissions. Local support is not essential at all with such a company. GL.iNET always introduce new features and fix bugs in their new firmware. The guys probably seek perfection rather than commercial competition! They love what they do, strive to satisfy customers, something only mature and developed enterprises value it as the fundamental pillar to sustain business and success.
