I don’t normally write reviews, but I was puzzled by the few low reviews for the Renegade (Klassik fit). If you’re a person who scours reviews when deciding on a purchase I would advise you not to put too much weight into the few low reviews for these pants. I have a difficult time finding pants that fit me well both comfortably and cosmetically (they feel and look good, and fit true to size). They are my go to pants for hiking a mountain, doing ruck marches, etc… i.e., they are highly durable and functional. I boxed up most of my other pants and now cycle through the four pairs of Renegades I own, with a scant few other models, for daily wear. I highly recommend the Renegade, they are hands down my most favorite Kuhl model of pants. I have an *healthy* behind and, as I wrote before, it can be difficult for me to find pants that are both comfortable and look good. Buying these in the size I normally wear (34/30) has been spot on (for me).-Gideon

I purchased these pants because I loved the first pair that I bought, and I have made several other purchases from Kuhl. However, this pair had an enormous hole in the front right pocket that I did not realize was there until I wore them for the first time. I will have it repaired on my own, but I thought that I would warn people to check before purchasing. For the price, I thought that this would not happen. Thanks.

Love the fabric and features. I definitely noticed the difference in the tapered fit of the Free Rydr over the Klassic fit of of the Renegades or Radikl pants that I own. Part of that may be that the Rydr fabric isn't quite as stretchy as those others. The weight of the fabric is great and the fit is good. The difference in the fit will be something that I will adjust to.

the pants are made of a noteworthy fabric that strikes the perfect balance between stretchy, durable, and anti-abrasive. KUHL's website refers to it as DURALUX and notes that it's comprised of 95% nylon, 5% spandex. It also has a DWR finish that repels water and the DURALUX fabric is quick-drying. The reviewer also mentioned that the pants are a smidgen smaller than they hoped for but not uncomfortably so. They gave the comfort rating of 9/10 and overall rating of 8/10. I hope this helps!
Yes, these are technically a "downgrade" since they are not the same stretch material they once were, but I still love them because there's still enough stretch for me. I have about 10 pairs and rotate them around as my daily wear on top of being my hiking pants. I have worn these for several years and never had a tear or any issues. In fact, I have yet to retire a pair of these. I do, however, wish there were more colors/shades available.Tapered fit: this is the perfect fit for me. But, I wish the tapered fit got changed the rear left pocket to something smaller. My wallet always falls out, and I don't dare put my phone there for that reason.Klassik fit: I prefer the velcro pockets on this one over the tapered fit back pockets, but the cut is a bit more baggy for ... MoreYes, these are technically a "downgrade" since they are not the same stretch material they once were, but I still love them because there's still enough stretch for me. These would be perfect then! I still love these pants regardless.
Not the pants they used to be. I purchased a pair of renegade pants a few years back. They are still my favorite go to for any back country adventures in almost all weather conditions. I wear them daily for the work I do. The original were perfect in every way. Finally decided I needed to get another pair only to discover they have been turned into super tight fitting hipster pants. I’m not talking about the tapered fit either. I purchased the Klassik fit only to find that even the klassik fit has a taper to it. I work hiking and biking and climbing in the mountains every day, I’m not some body builder, but when you hike like I do your legs get big!! I am 6’1” and 180 lbs. wear a size 34\32 is it really that much to ask for a full fitting pant that’s not made by carhartt.
I must, sadly, agree with sone of the other reviewers who noted that this pant went from perfect to poor. The fit of my first pair (green khaki or a kind of burnt olive) are simply the best fitting pants in my dresser. I tried them on at REI and though the tag seemed large for me at 34 waist, the fit suggested otherwise. I then ordered a second pair in a pinkish tone in the same size and they were huge. Baggy and unattractive in a way I would never pick off the shelf. Not sure if the latest colorway is like the first or the secobd pair I got snd I probably never will. Not only is Kuhl's quality control/design department asleep at the wheel, the company still doesnt manufacture their pants in Fair Trade factories meaning that your "adventure" psnts are likely made ... MoreI must, sadly, agree with sone of the other reviewers who noted that this pant went from perfect to poor. Purchase many Kuhl products from jackets to shirts to various style pants. This is the first time I placed an order online, I usually purchase from a distributer. The left front pocket of the pants I received has a huge hole in it.It appears to not have been stitched.Normally I would have caught this, like I said I ordered it online. It's a little disappointing when paying $100+ dollars for a pair of pants. Not to say these folks don't make great clothing lines...they really do, I guess everyone has the occasional hiccup once in a while.
A outstanding pant. I am 6’ 2” and 175 lbs. I bought a 34 x32” pant with Klassik fit. It is a perfect fit. This pant is very well constructed and is made to last a very long time. I plan on buying 2 more pair. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this pant. It is very comfortable and weather resistant. Which makes it outstanding!
Every once in a while you find a style of clothing that works so well for you that you wind up buying multiples of that model, in different colors. Renegade is that model of pants for me. I currently own 6 pairs of Renegade pants, and I’m am likely going to be buying a few more (in different colors). Why? Because they are the most comfortable, practical and cool looking pants I’ve ever owned. As far as use of pants, while I do enjoy a nice hike on occasion, I’m more of an urban adventurer. Living and working in NY, I find the pants perfect for my treks through the city, with it’s durable fabric material and it’s Many pockets that hold all the little things that make my life easier. Renegade, I’m so happy I found you!
