My travel trailer uses lots of power when we camp off the grid. My two 12 volt batteries typically die within 24 hour of use. I tried a 100 watt solar panel (from another brand) and it didn't help much. A couple of my friends have 100 watt Renogy panels that they spoke very highly of so I went onto Renogy's web site to order one for myself. While shopping on Renogy's site I found this 200 watt solar suitcase and the technical information sounded like a better fit for my trailer needs. AND WOW! This solar panel solved all of my 12 volt power needs. The prior 100 watt panel would only generate about 30 Ah when I needed 60 Ah minimum to get the charge I needed to get back to 100%. I also found out that to make matters worse, my trailer batteries only held 60 Ah of ... MoreMy travel trailer uses lots of power when we camp off the grid. I also found out that to make matters worse, my trailer batteries only held 60 Ah of usable power storage.Last week I used my new 200 watt solar suitcase and, to my surprise, my poor batteries were 100 percent charge by the end of each day and a couple of days it was overcast with clouds and heavy smoke from the Dixie California fires. Our second to last night, of our 4 day dry camp, was quite cold so we put the trailer to the test. We ran a 1500 watt inverter to power a TV, and DVD play. We watched a movie and we also ran the heater all night. Again, to my surprise, the solar panel had given us the 100% power we needed to make it through the cold night and again charged us back up to 100% so that we were ready for the next cold night. This solar panel works great and the included controller shows volts and amps being generated. At one time, the controller showed 14.7 volts and over 20 amps with clear direct sunlight. At that same time my friends 100 watt panel showed 14.7 volts but only 9 amps. My friend had to run his generator the next morning in order to get the charge he needed to catch up for the next cold night. I brought my generator for the trip but I didn't need it.

I haven't had this system very long so I cannot rate it's service for a long time. I can say the portable system arrived with in a week. I bought this to keep batteries charged on an a frame Flagstaff camper. I want to use the camper off grid so I have increased the water capacity to 45 gallon and added an enclosure for the outdoor shower. We bought an instant up tent for the portable toilet too. Installed a second deep cycle battery to increase the available electric starage. Connections to the batteries were simple and the system stated charging immediately. It has been connected to the camper for about a month now without any issues so far.

I have used this suitcase product once so far, and it works very well. I use it as a supplement to the built-in rooftop 190W panel on the roof of my trailer. Because I can't point the rooftop panel toward the sun it takes days to fully charge my 2X6V golf cart battery pack. When I connect the suitcase directly to my battery (via the included solar controller) and point it at the sun, the combination of both batteries charged the battery in a few hours. The only reason I haven't given this purchase 5 stars is the fact that one of the alligator clips fell apart as I disconnected it from the battery. The rivet holding the two sides together simply popped out. Customer support says they are sending me a new one. Given the apparent quality of the rest of the system I am ... MoreI have used this suitcase product once so far, and it works very well. I did a lot of research before I chose this one. In fact, I liked it so much I bought six. I think they're currently the best hard solar panel suitcase for the money. They come with a very nice hard zippered cover and the adjustable brace design is very sturdy. However there's room for improvement. First of all these panels are pretty heavy at about 38 lbs each. Surely there must be a way to lighten them up to save on materials and manufacturing cost (and don't call me Shirly). Secondly it would be nice if the controller had a built-in USB port so a small device could be charged without wiring up the rig. Otherwise there is no better deal out there for a 200w hard solar panel suitcase. Just make sure to tighten all the nuts and bolts that shake loose during shipping.
I purchased this because I thought it was for camping. I found out that it is not suitable for camping and per the manufacturer was made to be "mounted where there is no shade" I found out from the manufacturer that it is normal for this panel to go from putting out 9.2 amps to .9 amps if 10% of the panel is in shade. I was told I purchased the wrong kind of panel. I needed a panel that has bypass diodes in it so it will keep putting out if part of the panel gets in shade. This panel does not have bypass diodes. other than that it works well if there is a place where you camping where there are no tree branches around. One very small branch will shut this panel down.
I bought the same panel a year ago (May, 2021) and at nearly 50 pounds it is *heavy*!! Looks like your new product lost 15 pounds. My panels work ok, I had a lot of inconsistent performance, so the charge controller is being replace on warranty. I hope it works better with the new controller. The spade connectors from the panel to the charge controller and to the batter are a weak point... these should all be Anderson connectors. I was also underwhelmed by the quality of the stand (clumsy to position and reposition), fasteners and clips that hold the suitcase closed... but this seems to be the standard these days. Last, the carrying bag needs zipper on three sides, it is just about impossible for one person to put the suitcase panels back in the bag... a second set ... MoreI bought the same panel a year ago (May, 2021) and at nearly 50 pounds it is *heavy*!! The bottom of our bag has already worn through.
The Walmart experience was great.I had an issue with Canadian CC online store so had to go to physical store to buy gift cards to use at online store. Also couldn’t ship to pickup at store so needed a temp address.Except for these minor things, purchase was great. Delivery was quick and free.As far as the product, it’s great. My only complaint is Renogy sells multiple kits with similar specs, but it’s hard to tell them apart from the website. Read carefully.
This is a great, somewhat portable, solar cell. I’ve compared its output to several other panels I own and it is very efficient. I almost always get a higher watt output in identical sunlight and the foldability makes it great for an RV or camper. Don’t confuse this panel with a lightweight, foldable one. It’s a legit PV panel and is pretty heavy. It folds into a manageable shape, has a handle and cool case to store your cables as well. I’m very happy with it.
Bought this a couple weeks ago. Just finished an 8 day RV trip, using it every day. Kept the batteries up nicely while using vent fans, lights, water pump, and power awning. Never touched the generator. The suitcase kept my twin batteries crisp all the time.Instructions need a little work on clarifying which connectors go where, and to be sure to UNPLUG the panel from the controller before hooking to the battery. Not being used to solar, the terminology was slightly confusing, with a big downside if not done right.
I purchased four of these to charge our awesome Ecoflow Delta Pro solar generator and the 300Ahr LiFePo4 battery for our pop-up camper. I have not had the opportunity to use them yet, as the weather has not cooperated enough to open up the camper and get everything installed. They seem well built and the case is pretty nice. I probably will not use the charge controllers that came wit the panels, as i have a separate MPPT controller to run all four. I've read good things about them and seen many good reviews, so im certain they will perform as expected. I cannot give 5 stars as, i mentioned before, i have not used them thus far. I will give an update when ive tested them properly. And add photos then as well.
