If you regularly pull in a bench (like the REP AB-3000 I purchased) you may want the MAX for the extra space in the center. If you're considering the added weight stack like I was maybe this will help. My max bench press with free weights is about 300 lbs. I did NOT get the added weight stack and there is more than enough weight here for me.

Don’t worry about size or quality. It is gold
23 December 2024

I am 5’10ā€ and weigh 195 pounds. I would consider myself an intermediate to advanced lifter. I was initially worried about this functional trainer being either too short or not wide enough for a good stretch. However, I find it absolutely wonderful. The action is very smooth. I added extra weight, and to be honest, I haven’t even touched the higher weights. I think it’s a good idea to buy the heavier weight stack just in case, as it also gives the functional trainer a bit more ballast. If I had a higher ceiling, I would go for the max version. However, if you’re looking for something more compact and are concerned this might be too small, don’t worry at all—it’s absolutely wonderful. Just FYI, it took me about five hours, without a break, to assemble.

Over all the product is amazing, it feels and looks great, I wouldn't expect to get a function trainer this nice for the price. If you have the space, i think this is a much better option than the functional trainer squat racks. The rep handles it comes with feel incredible.I am 6 foot 1 with slightly longer than average arms for my height and the pull up bar feels really nice, I have to bend my knees a touch but it feels like a natural position.I put it together a few months ago but I remember a few parts not being detected well in the instructions like attaching the weight stack pully covers, you have to pull the cable down and loop it in and the instructions don't show it so it cost me like 30 minutes to go back and re do it.So I think the assembly ...Ā MoreOver all the product is amazing, it feels and looks great, I wouldn't expect to get a function trainer this nice for the price. If you have the space, i think this is a much better option than the functional trainer squat racks. The rep handles it comes with feel incredible.I am 6 foot 1 with slightly longer than average arms for my height and the pull up bar feels really nice, I have to bend my knees a touch but it feels like a natural position.I put it together a few months ago but I remember a few parts not being detected well in the instructions like attaching the weight stack pully covers, you have to pull the cable down and loop it in and the instructions don't show it so it cost me like 30 minutes to go back and re do it.So I think the assembly instructions should be I proved but appart from that it is incredible. First, the machine is beautiful. Secondly it’s the perfect size for me and my basement space. I have a 92ā€ ceiling and I’m about 5’7ā€. So I can almost fully hang without bending knees from pull up bar and have plenty of clearance for my head on pull ups. Front levers are also nice using the pull up bar as the machine is very stable. As a frame of reference my max bench is about 205 pounds and I EZ bar curl about 80 pounds for 10 reps as an opening set. The standard stacks are plenty heavy for standing cable flys - I’ll never max this machine out on that movement. The only movement where the weight stack might be an issue is for tricep rope pull downs if you bench like 250+ pounds. I can do about half the stack for 10 reps. The 10lb minimum weight is a bit high for ...Ā MoreFirst, the machine is beautiful. Secondly it’s the perfect size for me and my basement space. I’m able to use that 10lb weight but I wish it started at 5 pounds. One of the cables looks like it’s already a little damaged but I think it’ll be ok. Also, when installing the cables make sure the cable is UNDER the bolt used to attach the pull up bar. You can see in one photo we messed that up initially. And no, the damaged cable isn’t the one we initially installed incorrectly.Overall, though I highly recommend and REP customer service is fast and responsive.

A+ on the REP for provided detail instructions. It took me two days to put together but than again, I took breaks, but I could have done it in one day.Cons: Not very much. The wooden box Arcadia came in was complete cracked on one side. Luckily nothing was damaged. My advice for REP, if possible, I wouldn’t package the weight stacks all on one side of the wooden box. I think one side got to heavy, thus causing cracking/breaking on shipping. My advice for those thinking about purchasing Arcadia vs. other functional, GET ARCADIA!Also, if you are on the fence about buy heavier weight stack, don’t think about it, and purchase it. I think it is a lot of work to have to add five plates later on.Last advise, take your time putting Arcadia together, as I said instruction are great but it is very easy to make error if you rush through it.

With that being said, I proceeded to lug everything downstairs and into my gym. As I started to assemble it I noticed more and more imperfections in the finish of the paint and I also noticed a gouge at the top of one of the uprights. It looked like the paint application was not even or didn’t cure properly during manufacturing. If that wasn’t bad enough, I realized that I was shorted a box of weight plates and was now unable to finish the right side of my FT!I called the customer service number and was instructed to start a claim online and I would get a response in the next 24hrs. Once I was messaged back, the representative had me send multiple pictures to show the damage and paint issues I was referring to. I sent several pictures illustrating all the issues i had with this product. In the next day or so a representative apologized for my inconvenience but said based on my pictures there appeared to be no damage in its functionality and overall just cosmetic damage. For this she offered my a 10% discount?!? I responded to her stating that although it was mostly cosmetic flaws I still paid top dollar for a piece of equipment that looked more like a used FT I bought off of Facebook marketplace or Craig’s list. I told her that that offer was not enough for the condition of what I received and what was advertised. I suggested 20% of a discount but instead she agreed to $15 and i ended up settling for that My weight plates i was missing were sent to me the following week. My overall impression of Rep was disappointing and i don’t think I would ever chance purchasing an expensive piece of equipment from them again. Poor quality control and weak customer service.

Very good- but finicky to set up
5 January 2023

I’ve owned this product for about 4 months now, use it at least every other day, and here’s some thoughts:1. Really excellent at giving you options for exercise. The sheer number of exercises available are daunting at first, but if you can pick a routine and write it down (or use an app) it will help reduce the mental barrier of ā€˜what do I do today?’2. I am having some problems where the left side of the machine is always tight- there is no slack in the metal cable. This makes changing weights difficult since it appears to always want to lift the weights up. The main bolt that engages the shuttle (height adjustment pully) is no farther out or in than the one on the right, and yet there is still tension. I am concerned loosening the bolt further could compromise safety.3. There is induced rotation of pully above weight stack. I discovered that unless you pre-rotate and tighten the pully system above the weight stack when installing, the cable braid will induce a rotation that will tangle your cable as the pully starts twisting around and around. You need to tighten the stack pully slightly so it has modest friction against the little rubber top of the weight stack, that stopped the rotation.4. Cable balls will not stay in place- just above where the cable is captured with set screws to the equipment attachment point there is a ball that is supposed to help keep proper spacing- the tiny rubber insert that is supposed to go into the hole around the cable is not functional . I’ve had to use duct table to keep the ball from dislodging and causing extra friction and annoyance.Final words: no equipment is going to be totally hassle free, but this one is worth the effort for the amount of options it gives at a competitive price point. Just make sure you use it!
