Josef Hoffman was a prolific Austrian-Moravian architect and furniture designer. He created this stunning Bentwood Chair type in 1930, and named it type no. 811 Dining Chair in Dark Walnut based on this design. Using heat and pressure, the timber can be bent into the organic shapes that you see in this fine dining chair. This modern yet timeless design produces a very comfortable chair that allows hours of use without any loss of comfort. The bentwood curved timber feature under the seat creates an Art Deco look and is an exquisite finishing touch. The Bentwood frame is made from European Beech timber and stained dark walnut, and the seat and backrest have a natural woven cane webbing . There is a gauze underneath the seat to add stength and ensure longevity of use of this famous chair.
