(137 reviews)

The Retractable Hose Reel Mounting Post is an optional extra mounting solution designed to work with Hoselink's Classic Retractable Reel. The powder-coated metal post can be located anywhere in the garden and is ideal if you want a Retractable Reel but don't have a wall on which to mount the bracket. Please note that unlike the standard wall bracket, the reel cannot be locked on to the Hose Reel Post with a padlock. There is a hole on top of the post to hold the hose reel pin in place, allowing the reel to swivel 360° and follow you as you move around the garden. This product is suitable for use with all Hoselink Classic Retractable Hose Reel sizes. *Not suitable for use with the Evolve Series Hose Reels. Installation Advice The post must be secured in the ground to take the weight of the reel, which can be accomplished with concrete (not supplied). Fill with gravel for the first 100mm before setting the Mounting Post on top and filling with concrete, ensuring a concrete depth of 250mm up the post. This will require approximately 30kg of concrete. Please note: you will need to allow the concrete to set for 24 hours before putting the hose reel in place. For the complete installation guide, please watch our video here. What's Included 1x Retractable Hose Reel Mounting Post. Hose Reels are sold separately. Our reels are pre-boxed with a Wall Bracket and the package cannot be altered. You Will Also Need Cement and gravel from your local hardware store. *Reel not included.

I am so impressed with the quality of my new Hoselink Retractable Hose Reels! It is so easy to pull, it retracts smoothly and the sprayer works so well! Everything is quality! It
is a pleasure to use . I have 2 hose reels, a 20m in my yard and a 30m on a steel post at the side of my long driveway (battle axe block). My neighbour is just as impressed
with the quality. Thanks for such quality products, not to mention the excellent service!

Mounted post to a retaining wall and it worked well, allowed me to locate the hose where I needed to in the garden. Works great and allows hose reel to spin 360 if needed.
Slim size makes unobtrusive in garden. If I was mounting ithe post in the ground I feel the reel, if post mounted deep into ground to give the strength needed to handle a 30m
hose, ithe reel would only be slightly above the grass. Perhaps making a grey or monument colour option would be good.

I think the post is to short. I prefer to put more post in the ground as the reel is heavy and than pulling on the hose the post may move over time. Also, the instructions say to
mount the reel at waist height. However, the post is not long enough unless you mean the hose comes out at waist height. I dug the hole deeper and wider and used another
bag of concrete. My grandfather taught me to put the post in the ground as much as it is out. All his strainer post were eight foot. It felt very strange not to put more of the reel
support into the ground. Despite my thoughts the post is doing it s job

Issues with using concrete to install post
7 October 2023
I just received the pole, watched the installation video and it seemed all very easy. However, after checking the material of the post, it's aluminium, I realised that all quick set concrete products advise against the use with aluminium components. The chemical process creates significant heat that would weaken the material. Fairly disappointing, have to work something out now, as I don't want any problems in the future, planning to use pole for longer than 2-3 years. I would recommend that Hoselink addresses this issue, perhaps following up with the manufacturer regarding their recommendations, changing the design or, at the very least, the instructions.... Mounting post
10 February 2021
We purchased the retractable hose with a mounting post.Installation is Fiddly but manageable. Biggest issues were; When retracting hose back,it swings too much possibly because it's on a mount. Also we had our Gardner's come to cut the lawn and realised they had broken our mount. Seeing as it was set in concrete we don't understand how it broke inside. We believe our gardeners may have accidentally fell on it to add pressure but disappointed that it was not firm enough to hold its spot.So once again..having to now redig up concrete and reorder another mount as no option. If I could hang the hose anywhere else I definitely would. This is our last option with it and unfortunately no other choice.... Show more

I found your video great to follow precisely forthe correct height and mounting in the ground!Put one out the back as I brought the retractablehose over a year ago with a mounting pole andjust had to buy both again for the front gardenfor summer! Best decision ever! Quality is the best!... Show more

Security for hosereel
4 April 2019
I had to purchase a mounting post because the hose reel would be positioned in the front garden where there are no walls. It would therefore be vulnerable to theft. By drilling a 7.5mm hole in the aluminium post at the same level as the hole in the round tubular post in the hose reel, I was able to padlock the hose reel to the post. This required a great deal of care to get the hole in the aluminium post at the same level as the hole in the round tubular post in the hose reel. I suggest that the aluminium post be supplied with a 7.5mm hole in the correct position to make life easier for the purchaser. Lockwood make a 40mm extended shackle alloy silicone padlock just right for the task, I took photos but have been unable to attach them. Sturdy Mounting Post
23 November 2022
This mounting post was just what we needed. Easy to install following the video instructions. I agree with another reviewer that a simple hole through the post would be ideal to be able to keep the hose padlocked in place.Also....please make sure you do get the correct quick set concrete. There are a couple on the market and luckily our friendly Bunnings salesman checked the hoselink website video in the store and realised the quick set concrete we were going to purchase CANNOT BE USED WITH METAL. The hi strength quick set concrete (yellow & black bag) is the one you need to purchase.... Show more

Too Short
22 November 2022
The post is way too short to provide enough support, especially if you want your hose reel to be 40cm or more above ground. More so in my sandy soil.I had to bolt on some galvanised angle to make it's length more suitable. I noticed the post is either stainless steel or aluminium? My magnetic spirit level did not want to ling to it when concreting it in place and making sure it was vertical. So, the material seems good, just not the length. Come on Hoselink, here is your chance to improve, as you want to know these things.... Show more

Very short, doesn t come with instructions - haven t installed yet as I ve had to rethink install due to not being what I expected
6 October 2023
They want install no higher than 900mm yet post is 800mm and hasn t even been installed yetIt s almost going to be touching the ground once installed which is not what I would have expected to mount a hose and they didn t seem to have alternate sizing. A little disappointed with purchase as longer would have been better... Show more
