The detail in these models is not as high as more expensive brands however that is reflected in price and with the offer of 2 models for £15 make a very affordable intro to the hobby.More experienced model makers may find it lacking in detail etc but for amateurs or kids the instructions are easy enough to follow with a little persistence.Thumbs up for Star Wars fans like me

The TIE Fighter was just as realistic as the Star Wars saga with a beautifully simple as well as detailed cockpit with brilliant moulding. He model construction took about 2 days to complete with full painting. A brilliant kit for beginners!

Kit builds easily into a large model for the size of box its in. The included stand is a nice touch. The suggested paint scheme is simple but there are others if you wish to customise it. My daughter did hers in black and red like a First Order Tie Fighter from the new film, I did mine like the red/orange/yellow one that Sabine grafittied in the Star Wars Rebels cartoons. Both look great on display and are nice talking points with visitors. Do a bit of internet research and give yours that special paintjob!Recommended for both beginners and experts.
Simply put: it’s a cute design; that in all takes only a few minutes to an hour to make!My only criticism (if that’s the right word): are the lack of paints suggestions - which can only be found inside the box. And the window decal... Which doesn’t particularly want to to stick, more so because it seems a tad small for the window piece.Otherwise it is a great model for any Star Wars / model fan! Nicely detailed and joy to paint!Looks great hidden amongst the plants.
I love Star Wars, and I love models so this seemed like an easy buy for me. It wasn’t too difficult but there are parts of the model which are left in the original plastic grey rather than being painted which I wish was clearer in the instructions.
I think the paint in the kit was old, the red had completely separated. Otherwise it was a great kit, a fantastic introduction to model making.
After already building one of these TIE models (found the kit in HobbyCraft), I've bought this second one to kitbash and scratch build a Darth X1 TIE using the main body cockpit as the basis for the X1, and planning on using Plasticard + 3D printed parts to create correct scale. The extra wing foils will help out too create the 2nd TIE that got shot by Han in the trench run scene. Only real downside to this kit and the X-Wing & Darth X1 Tie is that all the scales are different so making a good scale diorama is more difficult straight out the box However, get some 1mm SMD leds, some 0.5mm plastic coated copper and your soldering iron out you can light up one of these pretty easily, and the detail of the kit is great compared to earlier AMT / ERTL kits. A lovely, easy to build kit. A good level of detail for it's size. Due to the shape of the model, i found it easier to paint the details before constructing the final model. This is, however,my personal preference for whenever i construct any models.I bought this kit to go with a 3 foot kit that i own of the Millennium Falcon, to create a more dynamic display. As it was easy to build, i intend to purchase a second one, along with a vader tie interceptor to re create the trench scene from star wars !
Great kit, nice and simple for a experienced maker but straight forward enough for a novice. painting is in blocks but theres enough detail in the actual model too make it something special if your painting skills are up too picking out those details
