Revlon ColorStay Looks Book Palette, Maverick

The palette is TINY. In my view it’s a bit overpriced for what it was - 11.29$ at CVS. The bright side? It is so small you can fit it ANYWHERE. A tiny clutch. A carry on bag. It’s smaller than a mini Kit Kat. The color choices are fun and interesting but also practical - you could dress them up or dress them down, there are some great nudes and some great funky colors. The shades aren’t very pigmented. The shimmers were better than the mattes, the mattes were quite patchy. Overall it was okay, not worth the original price, I’m glad I used a 40% off coupon because it’s so portable.

This is very pigmented - I picked this mainly because of the shimmery lime green color. I had been looking high and low for the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion mini palettes, but they were discontinued… I then came across this palette when browsing on Target.com and said “Hey, that looks just like that lime green shade that I love so much!” The price point is great and nobody will be able to tell if this is Maybelline or Revlon or Mac or Urban Decay - they’ll just see an awesome pigmented color. Now I figure I should’ve bought 2 in case this gets discontinued.

The eyeshadow palette is a cute neutral mini that is nicely packaged. I was excited to swatch it before applying it to my eyes. The satiny shimmer shades do give a soft glittery fall off. You will need a dampened or wetted makeup brush for them. You might be able to get your fingertip wet and then apply. The product washes off easily with just water. I applied a tan sort of pale yellow matte across my lid and slightly above my crease for a transition shade. I used the darkest matte in my outer corner, and both of the lighter shimmers in my lid center and inner corner.I've never had a brow powder product, and the tip looked like it would create very thin, hairlike strokes. I didn’t remember seeing this collection released 2 years ago, so it was new to me when I saw it 3 days ago at Rite Aid. Soon as I saw it, I had to have it!! The colors are more stunning in person!!😍. You can create so many looks with this color story alone, or as a colab with any other colors. All shades appear to have some sparkle but the brown beige shade goes on matte. All are buttery-soft. Very little fall-out, buildable, blends ok. Not the best formula, but the shades are to live for!! It’s only $9, worth it. The size is perfect to take along to add a pop of color to any look.

Affordable, versatile palette great for everyday use

I wanted to get an eyeshadow palette that had many colours that I liked and was more affordable. I’m a big fan of palettes and have spent probably way too much on these items (like the Urban Decay ones) because the cheaper ones I’ve gotten in the past haven’t been that great. Revlon is a good brand in general and this palette was 40% off at Priceline so I could not resist buying it to see how it fared against the more expensive brands.The double-ended brush that comes with this palette is a great little brush. It allows me to apply eyeshadow smoothly and evenly.The palette itself is very thin so it’s handy to carry around in your handbag. It’s good for travel too, especially because it comes with a brush! I’ve worn these to work and they have stayed on for the 10+ hours. I haven’t had any problems with creasing or clumping either (I note that I always apply an eyeshadow primer underneath though). I have had some fallout with the shimmery shades but that is quite common with shimmers. It wasn’t much so it wasn’t an issue for me. The colours are also pigmented - another tick for this product.I would recommend this palette as it is great for the price! The colours are more neutral so you can wear them everyday. I’ve been using this palette for months and it doesn’t look like it will run out anytime soon.

All the eyeshadow you will need on a weekly basis!

If you are going to buy one eyeshadow palette this season, make it this one.I am a professional makeup artist and in my opinion this handy little palette is what I wish all my palettes were like.The pigmentation is high, so you don't end up using much and makes little to no fall out So it's pretty fool proof.The shades suit and enhances all eye colours and there is a good amount of highlight lowlight and transitioning shades (the ones that help blend the others together).It's most definitely a favourite in both my personal makeup bag and my professional kit.Oh and It's inexpensive!!! Great value.

Four-eyes POP, SPARKLE & SHINE

I received Revlon’s ColorStay Looks Book™ Eyeshadow - Original; containing eight (8) gradient shades that descend from a deep smokey grayish/brown to a soft, light gold. Four (4) shades are matte eyeshadows that are beautifully pigmented. Applying was easy and silky smooth. The fourth & lightest of the matte colors is slightly hinted with a bit of glimmer as the pallet also offers four (4) stunning shades dripping with glitter!! I have dark black hair, dark brown eyes, wear glasses & have pale skin & this tiny pallet offered amazing options. Pans are narrow, but I love these palettes

I love these palettes' colors. They have good pigment (and good shimmer on the shimmer pans) and they last quite some time. I have both Enigma and Maverick and I use them a lot. My only gripe is that the pans are pretty narrow (about a cm) so it's tough to get a single color, but since I use narrow brushes for 90% of my makeup looks it's not too much of an issue for me but a fair concern for others. When I use up my current palettes, I will be re-buying.

This is a good palette for natural makeup days

The shimmer shades are fantastic. They are pigmented and apply very easily. They are also very reflectivr and catch the light beautifully. The mattes however, aren't the most pigmented shadows. You can layer them and build them up a little, but it takes a while. They do blend out really nicely, you just have to work a little harder to get them there. This palette works best for more natural makeup looks because it's not extremely pigmented. I can also see this palette being good for a beginner. Very pigmented and long lasting

I tried this eyeshadow palette in 'ENIGMA' which is a nice mix of dark matte purples, and light shimmery shades. Unfortunately during postage, the very top dark purple shade fell out and went everywhere. I could tell straight away just how pigmented it was because it stained everything haha! It's definitely very long lasting and good for creating various looks - from natural daytime looks to bold nighttime looks. The palette is small and portable, so ideal for travelling. I did find it a bit difficult just getting one shade onto my brush at a time, so definitely use small makeup brushes for application. You can use an eyeshadow base first, but I found concealer worked just as well. The eyeshadows stayed on all day, so I'd definitely try them out again.
