Revlon Illuminance Serum Tint Tan Sand 28ml

Besides the occasional viral product, I’m not a drugstore makeup girl, never have been and never will be BUT I’ll always try something new and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this Serum Tint. I received the color Light Tan, which is just a touch too dark for me in the winter months but I was able to blend it out easily and once other products were added it matched perfectly. To me this is an extremely lightweight tinted moisturizer with SPF. Initially it provides very light coverage but can be built up to a sort of sheer medium coverage. For me it’s perfect for days I don’t want to look like I’m wearing any makeup. I did need to wear my normal moisturizer underneath this, as I found my skin didn’t look/feel as hydrated as normal when wearing this product alone, so I imagine this would be perfect for those with oily skin and likely will work as a stand-alone product for me in the summer months. I didn’t notice any of the skincare benefit claims, however it does take time for skincare products to show results and I haven’t been wearing this everyday. It goes give me a nice glow from within look and I might try using it as illuminating primer under one of my go-foundations. I found this applied best with a stippling brush that really pressed the product into my skin. It also applied nicely with a beautyblender, but I found I needed to use more product with that application. Overall I think this is a decent base product and will likely use it more often in the summer months or on vacation, when my skin needs less hydration and I want to have lightweight products on my face. I’m not sure if I’d purchase this in the future. This is a product I’ll need to use quite a bit before making that decision.

Evens out skin tone with natural soft glow

I'm a big fan of light coverage face make-up like BB creams to even out skin tone without looking made-up, so it was a pleasure to be able to trial this new product from Revlon. I have light warm yellowish skin (MAC shade NC17) and picked 117 Light Beige. This turned out to be a bit too light for me, but the neutral-warm tone was good. In general, the 'warm' shades in this line seem to lean neutral.The product comes in a tube packaging without a pump, and contains 28ml of product, which is less than the usual 30ml foundations. The coverage is decent for a tint - once a single layer is blended, it has enough coverage to reduce redness and even out skin tone, with small age spots still showing through. Even though the shade was a bit too light for me, it was still passable for one layer and it sort of blends in as the day progresses. This is buildable and you can add a second layer, so I would say it ranges from light to medium coverage depending on how much you use. The finish is slightly glowy but it doesn't make my combination skin feel oily like some dewy foundations can. It feels comfortable all day and I can get away without setting with powder.One thing I will say is that the claim of "Visibly reduces dark spots in 4 to 8 weeks" is off the mark. The Vit C, Vit E ingredients are towards the end of the ingredients list and aren't in concentrations that would make any visible difference - and as expected, I did not see any impovements. I will also say that the Australian RRP of $39 is overpriced when it is USD$18 in the US. It's a nice product if you can get a good shade match, but I just feel that there are better options in the market that are better value for money.

Ok so it's honestly been YEARS since I've tried a Revlon product, but I've seen this one circling around people I follow online with good reviews. I decided to try it yesterday. This product is literally stunning on the skin. I was only wearing it for a few hours when a woman complimented me on my beauty, which is hands down this tint. It makes you radiate, and it looks like it's from the inside out. I really have been disliking most makeup/foundations lately. I strongly dislike the layer of something on top the skin look. I need my finishes seamless, which I can admit I am as picky as they come in this regard. As someone who normally wears foundation with full coverage I am starting to lean more towards lightweight, natural looking products that makes your skin look like your skin but better. This was my first time trying out a skin tint and felt like it was the perfect opportunity to see if I would like these types of products. I like that it's a makeup product with skincare ingredients like vitamin C and vitamin E which is important. What I liked about the tint was that it was lightweight. For the days when you want to wear minimal makeup but still want your skin to look healthy and glowy this is a good option. The coverage is very light and sheer. The Revlon Illuminance Serum Tint is my new holy grail foundation! Goodbye Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, Hello Revlon!Although it is marketed as a tinted serum, this is without a doubt an amazing foundation!The coverage and finish is absolutely amazing. It’s a medium coverage (although certainly buildable) with a lightweight feel to it. It feels like i’m applying skincare and it’s giving me an even and glowing complexion. I personally can’t stand being able to feel a heavy product on my face and i didn’t encounter this issue. Not for me unfortunately

I experienced no reactions to this product. It also has moderate-to-high coverage which is more akin to a foundation than I expected.Now onto the cons: unfortunately, while trialling this product, I was experiencing a bit of skin flaking around my nose and this product really caked around any uneven skin texture and highlighted the flaws. Pleasant Sheer Base Product

I have quite oily skin, so tend to avoid any base products with "illuminance" in the name, but I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It does come out of the tube feeling quite thick and heavy and on applying I wasn't sure how it would go as it felt heavy. but weirdly as I spread the product it thinned and I didn't feel the heavy feeling anymore, in fact it didn't feel like I had anything on my skin at all. It dried down to a not quite matte but not dewy finish. it looked like "nice" skin. The coverage was sheer-light, it helped even out skin tone but didn't cover anything. It did however. cling onto some dry flaky patches, that I didn't even know I had, and it settled weirdly in that area. I sometimes like to add a drop of liquid highlighter into my foundation to get the dewy effect but this product replaces the need to do that. Even after using setting powders, bronzers and blushes over the top, the illuminance can still be seen. Now for the negative. With the beautiful sunny climate comes heat and humidity. I found this product to exacerbate my oil production during hot humid days. I found myself carrying extra beaty blenders in my purse to dab the excess oil away and by doing this, removing makeup. I quickly looked like a hot mess without constantly touching up my face with extra products; and let's face it, who wants to be carrying around their makeup products and reapplying/fixing their face throughout the day. I have a solid skincare routine and found using drying cleansers and moisturisers (ie. Acne products) with ingredients like salicylic acid, helped combat the extra oil created from Revlon's Illuminance Serum Tint. Sometimes with trying new products, I get some skin purging but I didn't experience that with this and I'm putting it down to the Ginger Root and Vitamin C and E. Overall, I recommend the product. I tend to reach for this product on work days where I will be in the air-conditioning so I know it will become a staple as the months roll into Winter.
