I was very frugal when I bought a replacement and it lasted a week and a half.I then paid a little more for the Rexel (still not hugely expensive) and the whole office seem very happy with it.

This shredder is not fit for purpose and a waste of money - the manual feed jams up even with only 2 A4 sheets fed at a time, and the autofeed option is totally useless, as it blocks and jams every few seconds. The machine is just not strong or powerful enough to cope with normal paper shredding. We have asked for a refund and to return the item, but to date this has not happened yet, three weeks later.....

Great product. Effortless you can just put in paper and walk away and it does it automatically. Also it doesn't make a huge noise. All it can improve on when emptying the drum it messes at the back so almost have to vacuum out the remaining dirt.

What a load of rubbish!! I would still be annoyed if this had only cost a quarter of the price. It only shreds 4 or 5 sheets before jamming or over heating - I have only loaded 10 sheets into the auto feeder which, is supposed to take up to 60. It's impossible to empty the bin without making a mess everywhere. When placing the order, there was no indication that expensive Rexel Oil Sheets are to be used after every third bin emptying.
Good shredding and auto feed works well. Only thing is shredded paper gets between bin and housing and stops the shredding. Needs to be cleaned out to get going again.
This is a great idea, place up to 60 sheets into the hopper and walk away. Two problems here, one is that it seems not to like certain types of A4 paper and the rubber wheels do not grip them enough to drag them through; Second, it overheats in no time and well before 60 sheets could be shredded.True, you can just leave it and it comes on to shred some more until it overheats again, and so on, (if you are happy to walk away and leave it!).I got this for my small home business, DON'T. I am back to hand shredding, or only shredding while busy in the office and can keep tending to it.I will be looking for either an industrial product or a cheap supermarket version.
Been through a few shredders recently. Most not very good. This is a very good product for home or small office. Best thing is the auto feeder. Pop the sheets in the top. Close the door and off it goes!! Obviously, everything has its limits but very easy to use and saves loads of time not having to stand there feeding in sheet by sheet.
Delivery service from Viking was excellent. However, the product was very disappointing. Having counted out 60 sheets, and checking that none had print on the reverse (was not aware of this limitation) I placed them in the shredder. It jammed before completing the sixty sheets as the shredded paper piled up rather than spreading equally over the catchment basket. I also discovered that the oil that had been suggested when I purchased (as being purchased by others) was not in fact usable. Instead I had to buy oil impregnated sheets. I costed these out assuming using as recommended and it meant that every single sheet I shredded, cost 1P for oil.
Good shredder although the explanation of how to shred credit cards and disk is limited, so much so I ended up getting a card jammed in the credit card slot with no way to remove it. The main shredder still works fine. Good feature that you can fill it with paper and leave it to get on with it.You cant overuse it too much or it overheats so its ok for a small office (15 employees) but if you have more go for bigger model.
For 8k I would have expected that it came with oil sheets included as I subsequently found out these are required, after getting much paper jamming, or at least say you will need these when purchasing. The shreddedpaper falls down behind the bin so when emptying it and putting it back the bin does not close unless you pull out all the extra shredding left behind. I wouldn't buy another one.
