My previous 315L vitreous enamel lined hot water tank lasted 13 years with two anodes replaced during that time. The last was used up in less than 9 months, Tank developed rusty water and leaked, hence went for stainless steel type as no sacrificial anodes are needed. Set temperature to 55C, with single element, works fine no problems.

My Dad just installed a 30 gallon electric water heater. My old one (different brand) of 26+ years had begun to leak. When he turned on the water, & it filled up, we noticed a leak around the drain valve. After a brief search on the internet, we discovered other people had the same issue. So after emptying it, he removed the drain valve to discover a minimal amount of sealant. He replaced it with two different sealants & reinserted the valve. So far no more leaking. I highly recommend taking a look at the drain valve prior to filling the water heater to save yourself a lot of extra time & effort & water. Hoping for the best going forward as I had read that Rheem is a top brand.

The plumber have installed this item and working fine.
