Very sturdy and light enough to attach to existing roof racks with included brackets that also fit pioneer rack systems. The 2.5m span gives extra room under shade compared to other brands 2.0 to 2.1m . Extra corner extension or side wall makes it work on dual cab ute as well.

I always get told to park in the shadow by my finance which makes my life a bit harder ( just that part =) ) as its not always possible. Now it really doesn't matter as the awning covers the side and back of our truck camper. We are very pleased. The only caveat not bad it that you have to be careful extending and retracting in order not to break anything.I also got a great deal from Moosejaw with coupons and the credits they give you.

I’ve used this awning on my SUV over the past 3 years and have concluded it is a good value. At first I was disappointed in how easily the plastic connections would break at the spindle if the awning was unsecured and picked up by the wind. However, it is an easy fix and I keep extra parts in the rope bag. I also secure it down with lines and stakes and it does well with moderate wind gusts. The coverage is ample and it is light enough I can install or take it off by myself. What sets this awning apart from others is that it can be integrated to an OZ tent as well as wall panels and overhead extensions. I have another 270 degree awning that I can do pull-ups on without down poles but I still tend to use the batwing more often as it is simply more multifunctional.

Bought recently and installed on our DIY cargo trailer RV. High quality and well thought out. Easy for one person to deploy and retract. Durability is TBD. Only flaw is that the bag lets rain water in so i am concerned about mold.
This is a really god product very nice materials and easy to install. Easy to deploy and easy to pack up. the only thing that worries me is the Nylon fittings at the hinge. I haven't had one break yet but it dose concern me even with out any wind. I always open it carefully and bring down each leg as I get around to the last one. So far so good. I would not recommend opening this up with out lowering the legs. The slightest breeze could cause sever damage to the unit. Securing it down with the ropes seems to be the best method.
I purchased my RhinoRack Left Hand Batwing Awning in August of 2020 and I've use it exactly 6 times. The first time was to test the setup in my driveway seemed pretty easy to set up.The 2nd and 3rd time everything seemed ok. The 4th time during normal set up 2 of the pole ends broke on the first day of a 5 day camping trip.Great, now my awning that I planned on using for some shelter is useless for the rest of the trip. Sure I could go to a RhinoRack retailer and buy some more pole endsif I wasn't camping in one of the most remote corners of Utah.I called Rhino Rack when I got back and they suggested I use the included extra poles ends and order a spare set which costs $25.89 ($16.00 + $9.89 shipping item CA1175)They said the pole ends are designed to break to ... MoreI purchased my RhinoRack Left Hand Batwing Awning in August of 2020 and I've use it exactly 6 times. The first time was to test the setup in my driveway seemed pretty easy to set up.The 2nd and 3rd time everything seemed ok. Hmmm so that's why they sent extra pole endsClearly they are aware that this design flaw is an issue, otherwise why include extra pole ends.......So I repaired the pole ends (which was not the easiest task) and thoroughly reviewed the set up instructions to make absolutely sure I followed their guidelines5th time set it up and everything seemed ok. 6th time the awning set up ok, but when attempting to fold the awning backup 3 pole ends broke under their own weighton level ground with zero wind. I emailed RhinoRack and they said I had voided the warranty by how I was using it. I emailed back saying I had specifically followed their instructions and was then told the pole ends are not covered by warranty. So now I am forced to buy 2 pole end kits @ $16.00 and $9.89 shipping for a total of $41.89.So that's 5 pole end breaks in 6 uses for a total of $67.78 on top the already over $700 price tag. Needless to say I am more than frustrated and disappointed in this product.I have had other similar awnings on my off-road camp trailer for a fraction of the price last 5 years (so far) with zero issues. Here's why I will never buy another RhinoRack product. They do not stand by their products when it comes to support. They clearly have a designed and/or engineering flaw and refuse to acknowledge it and blame the customer for improper use. Your time, money and frustration are not worth buying this product.
The Rhino Rack Batwing 270 awning is an awesome feature to have. We use it every time we go camping. The first time we used it it was raining and this was such a huge help in dealing with that. It has also provided the perfect amount of shade for us to cook or sit under. I love this product and would not want to be without it.
I purchased this fantastic product after carefully considering all 270 degree awnings. And I'm very glad I did. It ties seamlessly in with my existing Rhino rack and accessories and the shade it provides is greater than I thought. With the oversized awning cover, it means I no longer have to fight trying to get it back in its cover. What is an outstanding feature is the ability to leave the pegs and guide ropes inside the setup. This means they should never get lost. With additional side walls and entrances, this is almost the complete package. Hopefully, Rhino rack will add a side tent to the attachments list which would take this already excellent awning to a whole other level.
Its a great concept but like most things look to good to me true it falls way short of the reliability goal. Broke one of the swing arm knuckles on the very first use. Rhino obviously knows its an issue because they provide 2 spare knuckles. When I emailed the manufacturer they told me it was designed to break at the pivot knuckle to avoid damage in high wind. Great concept but it broke inside my shop. Not much wind inside my shop. They told me I could place and order for more knuckles but they were currently on backorder. No kidding, because you need a bucket full of them to make the product practical. When I wrote back complaining they pulled a single replacement knuckle out of a new awning and shipped it to me. All in all its a great concept but just isnt ... MoreIts a great concept but like most things look to good to me true it falls way short of the reliability goal. Maybe good enough for tailgating but not what I was looking to do with it.
This has been a great addition to my rooftop tent and rack system on my truck. Provides plenty of area and protection from sun and rain. Can’t what to use more camping and tailgating. Also work well on construction sites for shade.
