Great system at about half the cost of the big name brand competitors. Very high quality components, excellent fit and construction. I carry very long and delicate racing canoes with the system and it handles the wind shear and torque from the boats without loosening or shifting. Great product.

Shopped multiple brands when upgrading to a wide set of crossbars for our Explorer. Needed something with more guts than the flimsy factory style crossbars for our roof box, plus wanted to have the ability to add a ski rack down the road. Paired these 59" black aero bars with the sx100 feet and the maiden voyage across CO, WY, SD was a success. Winds in WY were sustained 40MPH with gusts over 60MPH, add in driving 75MPH and meeting semi's on 2 lane highways...that's as much convincing as I need. Rock solid for the roof box! Looking forward to adding a ski rack down the road. Install was a little tricky to get everything symmetrical while tightening the legs to the factory side rails, but it's not going anywhere now. May consider metal locks down the road as well as ... MoreShopped multiple brands when upgrading to a wide set of crossbars for our Explorer. May consider metal locks down the road as well as the factory ones are just heavy plastic. The black bars on black legs look very good. Wind noise doesn't seem any worse than with the factory cross bars.

Good so far, installation went well just followed the instructions, mountedOn F250 crew cab, took about 30 to 40 minutes had to adjust distance between rack do to the kayaks not sitting property at factory recommendations but went from colorado to the shores of Lake Superior in Minnesota with 2 kayaks on top and towing a trailer with no problems. Wind noise with and without kayaks was nominal. Product overall looks good on the truck, and is holding up adequately to The Kayaks and seems very secure the top of the truck, went through several rain storms and have had no problems with any leaks around the top of door frames where the rack attaches to the truck. Gave it a 4-star due to price seems like a lot of money for such a small amount of material, when the wife ... MoreGood so far, installation went well just followed the instructions, mountedOn F250 crew cab, took about 30 to 40 minutes had to adjust distance between rack do to the kayaks not sitting property at factory recommendations but went from colorado to the shores of Lake Superior in Minnesota with 2 kayaks on top and towing a trailer with no problems. I did a lot of online research prior to deciding on purchasing this model roof rack for my 2014 crew cab Ram 3500. I was a bit leary of my choices, as all brands had some truly awful reviews. I chose this model as the ratio of good to poor reviews was better than most of their competitors. I received my roof rack quickly and began studying the installation instructions. The reason for only 4 stars for “ease of installation” is that the directions were a little confusing at first (especially determining foot placement vs. truck model vs. rack model). But with a little effort, I finally figured out which chart to use. After that, installation was straight forward... just be careful to follow instructions and measure twice! My installation went a little longer than their estimated time, but I was meticulous in my process. The fit was superb. Other reviews complain about the wind noise, but I have experienced very little. The only time I notice wind noise is between 40 - 48 mph or when the air is very dense (like fog). Even then, the noise is not excessive and I have to open my windows to hear it. I have had the racks mounted for a couple months now, and check their tightness about every two weeks. They have not needed re-tightened yet. I use them exclusively to haul two kayaks while I tow my fifth wheel trailer. Even with the upward wind force on the kayaks at 70 mph, these racks hold tight to my roof. Bottom line: I am very happy with these roof racks and would (and have already) recommend them to others.
I had a set of heavy-duty bars which where "roaring" at speeds of 80km/h and above - I've replaced them with the Vortex Bars which are much quieter (don't hear them at all), though I'm not sure how strong they are - I'm sure they'll be fine for most things I need them for (ladders, large items from the hardware shop, kayaks... but can they handle a rooftop tent? (Rhino Rack doesn't seem to publish weight rating on their bars anymore, referring to the car manufacturer's ratings instead - so do I assume Rhino Rack's bars will handle anything within the car manufacturer's rating?)
Brilliant rack once assembled but need a Ikea degree to put it together working out what pads go where, in what direction and even thought the key was not supplied, but its tucked inside the rack. Fair bit of roof noise when empty, but bought it instead of a trailer, so a far better option. Rock solid and no concern about structure. Second Rhino rack I've bought.
A pain in the bum to fit but hopefully that makes them a pain in the bum to steal.Probably actually a bit short, very little overhang.despite the smooth shape they are quite noisy.
Lots of parts.I don't understand why Rhino can't put the rubber strips in the top of the bar and save the buyer the job of putting in 8 small rubber strips. The instructions are appallingly bad. I watched a few YouTube videos to understand how to remove the rail caps on the car and then how to install the bars.Overall, they look good, and are quiet when driving, but the installation is way too complicated.
Great-looking bars. Nothing in the documentation told me where the key and rubber numbers were. Thankfully Google came to the rescue. Otherwise fitting was perfect. My first drive was marred by whistling. I have made some adjustments that will hopefully cure the problem. Sounds like a lot of complaints but I have high hopes that all will be well.
I'm thrilled with the Rhino-Rack Vortex Cross Bar in Black, 71 inches, that I installed on the bed of my truck. They not only look great but were also incredibly easy to mount. The sleek design adds style, and the simple installation process made it a breeze. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and visually appealing solution for their truck bed.
