With optional viewfinder and snap-on rectangular shade, this approaches the feel of a traditional fine rangefinder, so it will appeal to Photo-J's and travellers who LIKE TO GET CLOSE to subjects with WIDE angles. Impressive build and amazingly low weight earns it's spot in my pocket when i want to travel light. Even with the fast-acting shutter-response to the shutter release button, my dissapointment is that the RAW files write terribly slowly, forcing you to lose precious spontaneity that even old crank film cameras can capture faster. This removes the benefit that the camera's otherwise excellent design and features attempt to give. The images are also a bit noisier than I would have expected from a costly P&S camera. However, if you are not a "decisive moments" ... MoreWith optional viewfinder and snap-on rectangular shade, this approaches the feel of a traditional fine rangefinder, so it will appeal to Photo-J's and travellers who LIKE TO GET CLOSE to subjects with WIDE angles. But if you like to capture sequential RAW frames, wait until Ricoh's next version or the competition. You will see these in the hands of photogs who are attracted to it's beautiful looks and cool add-on shade and finder, but they won't admit to losing precioius moments with the loss of file-writing speed.

For a compact street photographer like myself this is the bees knees. No excuse not to go out and shoot with this camera. Cant wait to use it more. Its a product that feels good and natural in the hand. I WANT to go out and go shooting with it, it makes shooting fun and a joy again. No more complicated shoots. Just grab it and head out the door.

the only thing negative is the lens lets-in dust when in operation and does reach the sensor. so be careful in those dusty and windy environment my camera had two dust specs on the sensor.

Quite a specialised bit of kit but superb at what it does. Excellent image quality, the most extensive & simple to use menus on any camera(!!) very easy to carry very easy to slip into a pocket or purse. Only the single focull length of the camera stops me giving it 5 stars - but it's also which makes it so superb
Intuitive to use and lots of customisation options. Great size. Images are sharp and detailed. WiFi app is OK, sometimes struggles to connect to my 'phone but thus is not really a big deal to me. High ISO noise and general low light performance isn't great but for most situations this is an enjoyable camera to use.
As the saying goes. 'The best camera is the one you've got with you', and this one is the best in (compact) class. Although, obviously, not up to a DSLR with decent glass, I'm very impressed with the image quality and the thought that's gone into the controls should put many camera manufacturers to shame it's just so intuitive and quick. If it had a built in viewfinder / rangefinder it would be perfect; but then, I suppose, it would be a different beast more like the Fuji X100, which I also own and stays at home more these days. The best thing I like about this camera is that it makes you less noticed on the street sometimes I'm in, taken the photo, and out again before people notice what's happened. Tiny camera, will fit in your pocket, great for taking everywhere with you. Fantastic images straight out of camera, the lens is so sharp and the snap focus function is brilliant for street photography.
Does exactly what it says on the box. Great pics. Small very easy to set up to your style of shooting. I take it everywhere and shoot in B&W. I recommend this for street on the fly photography.
Fantastic little camera that would even notice you have it on you. fantastic image quality. very sharp lens. built-in ND filter and many other useful features.
The camera I purchased has an issue that causes the batteries to drain overnight when the camera is turned off. As a result, I have to store the battery outside of the camera when its not in use.
