Cheap and barely usable
I bought these for a generic non-visible retaining wall.ALL sleepers arrived with heavy edge chipping and multiple cracks all the way through the sleeper body. So far they are holding their shape but glad it's not load-bearing. No way would any of them passed any ASNZ standard or quality control.... Show more

Excellent product - shame about the QA
Excellent product - shame about the QA. The sleepers create a perfect wall BUT the ends wouldn’t fit into the posts because the sleepers had been taken out of the mould before they were fully dry. See photos attached - we had to cut EVERY END of nearly all 80 sleepers!... Show more

Good product, not completely DIY
Overall a good product, however, best that you inspect each sleeper to identify cracks and other issues. Need familiarity with using heavy cutting tools as this is required for notching ends and shortening lengths.... Show more

Looks great if built three high without any pressure on the back.
The design change from previous 65mm thick to 50mm thick have weakened the centre part of the sleeper as I found today when purchasing some had cracked through the middle. It’s seems that profit comes over quality.... Show more

Poorly manufactured
Most of the sleepers cracked right through, with the bottom and edge sleepers damaged the most. The sleeper ends are wider than 50mm and didn't really fit the rigi posts, I had to purchase a grinder and a diamond blade to cut them to make them fit. I am extremely unhappy with the product.... Poor quality at premium prices
I purchased this product three months ago and thought it was a bad batch to find so many with cracks in the middle of the sleeper. Go to buy more today and notice firstly that I would have to pay $14 more per sleeper in Qld versus Vic and the entire stock had cracks in the middle. This is common across multiple stores and I wish I had supported my local landscaper.Bunnings should be ashamed to provide such an inferior product for a premium price.... purchased for planter box
I finished the install and just need to buy turf to complete the project.Looks great, but now for the factsnegativesDefinitely not DIY. I have experience in this area and these are the issues:1. do not have the product delivered as inspection is a must. I picked mine but had to put up with cracks in the product. Over half had hairline cracks all the way through and you can feel the flex and weaknesses in the sleeper3. the reinforcement used within the sleepers does not provide enough tensional stress loading. So I question the life of these products if large roots press against the wall in the long term3. all of the sleeper rebates had to be ground to fit into the posts. Failure to do this will cause stress and frustration during install. I not only had to grind the rebate face but also the width as there were inconsistencies and I was building 2 squares.Positives.1. The sleepers are parallel and true, fitting together well2. smooth finish allows for painting, but I wouldn't recommend it. Perhaps a rock texture coat would go well.3. once the posts are in and set assembly of the sleepers flows quickly.Only time will now determine if I could recommend this product.... Show more
