Exactly what I needed. I had a plumbing elbow leaking behind a cabinet, and inside a wall, reachable at a very odd angle with only one hand. Thanks to this jewel I was able to cut it out for replacement within a few minutes. Saved me a ton of time and effort, as I would have had to remove a large heavy countertop w/sink and disassemble cabinetry. The cut was clean and square, job done within an hour. Highly recommended!

This product is made by Rigid it is a three-quarter inch Close Quarters tubing cutter catalog no. 32985 model No. 104 made in USA .I used it for cutting 3/16" steel brake line and 3/8 steel line gas line on my car it worked great. Even though the standard cutter wheel is for copper and aluminum ( cat. No. 33185 / model no. E - 3469). It didn't seem to dull it because I cut copper after that. There is also another cutter wheel for soft flexible plastic available ( cat no. 33200 / model no. E - 1740).I've also cut 1/2" copper when I replace the faucet and toilet in my bathroom. Several years ago I went to Home Depot to pick this cutter up, but they were out of stock. I bought the Husky brand, which was ok, but the cutting wheel screw kept working loose and falling out. Went back and got this one and haven't had any problems since. It's a Ridgid, works exactly as expected.

Several years ago I went to Home Depot to pick this cutter up, but they were out of stock. I bought the Husky brand, which was ok, but the cutting wheel screw kept working loose and falling out. Went back and got this one and haven't had any problems since. It's a Ridgid, works exactly as expected.
I used it to cut some smaller 3/8" Copper pipe. It worked great! I did like the package said. Center on the roller and apply a little pressure with the knob. I did 1 full turn around the pipe, then turned in the knob 1/8 to 1/4 turn. I repeated until it cut the pipe. It did a really smooth and even cut. I didn't really even have much if any burring. I then slid a Shark Bite connector over it. Tested, works!It's a solid little cutter. It's got some weight for a little bugger. It also looks like the cutting wheel is replaceable as well, which is a nice feature over my previous cheap cutter.
Needed some close quarters on the fly due to mine breaking. Picked these up with low expectations as I've used other brands and they either didn't last long or left ridges on my cuts. I was astounded by the durability and smooth adjustability. Perfect cut, no ridges. I'll have these in my tool inventory for years to come.
Paid 5 dollars more for occasional use under sinks in 2 houses. Well worth it. Took 4 minutes to figure out how to cut 1/2 inch pipe through. 3 minutes on second. Sweet even cut. Took it off twice thinking it was spiraling. Simple clean cut took soft sanding plumbers paper to edge, was already smooth. Very pleased with results. Can’t imagine it lasting a hundred cuts, but for tight under sink spots it should be good for a couple dozen at least. Don’t try to rusk the cut. Around and around then tiny tightening to prolong useage reccoment drop of cutting oil.
Pictured above with my Ridgid 15 and a piece of 3/4” copper tubing seated inside. I bought this to cut 1/2” and 3/4” copper in places where that Ridgid 15 will not fit.It takes a few more turns to cut pipe vs. the larger and much heavier cutter, but that was to be expected and is not a problem.A couple items of note to clarify conflicting info in the Q & A and Reviews sections:- The 104 does not come with a spare cutting wheel.- The 104 does not have notched rollers.What else can I say? I love all my Ridgid wrenches and cutters.
This is the Ridgid model 104 tubing cutter (pipe cutter).From a plumber's perspective, very useful for cutting 1/2 or 3/4 copper pipe that runs next to a wall or joist.I should point out that there are other options, which might be more or less useful depending on the situation and on the plumber. The Ridgid model 118, for example, only needs to be tightened once, not repeatedly. (See Youtube video on how to use it properly, many plumbers in my experience can't figure out how to use the tighten-once feature.) The Ridgid C-shaped model doesn't need to be tightened at all, it just snaps onto the pipe, and being "round" does not have protruding edges that "catch" on whatever the pipe is near to.Personally I recommend two mini cutters. Small yet powerful. For the first time changing the pipe valve required me to cut the pipe and this cutter allowed me to complete the task successfully. (Especially working in such a tight space) Highly recommend. Thank you Nate at the McDonough Home Depot for your expert guidance
The Rigid Model 104 is the best Close Quarters Tubing cutter there is! I have used this same model cutter for at least 30 years and it has alway's served me well. The blade is replaceable and the cut is alway's clean. The cutting has alway's been the smoothest of rotation of any small cutter I have ever used. So pay the extra money and get this Model 104 if you want a quality tubing cutter that will last decades! Just don't loose it!
