An excellent quality, very well built, sturdy, precision tool that should last a long time. Has a great feel to it with some heft that speaks of quality and durability. Easy to use. Cuts EMT very cleanly and precisely with no 'wandering' of the cut line. It's actually a pleasure using this tool. The one thing that could be improved is the built in deburrer, which I found somewhat difficult to use and which did not do the best job in removing the burrs. Aside from that one 'weakness', this tool is great for cutting EMT pipe..

The Ridgid Model 15 is rated for light steel tubing and is very hefty. After carefully marking the length and taping off both sides of the cut line to protect the bluing from the cutter roller I began the cutting process. After 12-15 twists around the barrel, gradually tightening the tool, the cut portion fell away. The cut itself was very clean, exactly flush and square to the barrel and required very little deburring. And the roller did not mar the existing blue finish. It is easy to use, cuts very smoothly and precisely and the weight of this cutter eliminates any chatter or skipping out of the cut track. And you can buy replacement cutter wheels if needed. I highly recommend the Model 15 tube cutter by Ridgid. It exceeded my expectations!

I first bought a Husky at Home Depot and another product from a hardware store. The Husky's poorer structure allowed the cutting wheel to track poorly. The Rigid model 15 was rock solid. It is heavy, but it is built so well that it actually eliminates the headaches and misdirection's of the Husky. I highly recommend this product. However, the photo provided is of the 6 bearing Model 15SI (15si) not the model 15 which has a black handle and two bearings. I got my Model 15 at Home Depot and over the years and it has never let me down. Not that I use it every day but when I do, I appreciate the feel of a solid tool in my hands and one that I know is going to get the job done. And I appreciate that Ridgid was thoughtful enough to put a spare cutting wheel in the handle. Recently I had to cut a line made of 3/4 inch black iron pipe. No way to get a proper pipe cutter into the space. My only options were a 3 or 4 wheel cutter - expensive for one or two cuts - or a sawzall - or so I thought. I really did not relish the thought of cutting the pipes in place with a sawzall and then trying to get a decent thread on them. Just for yucks I tried the Model 15. With tools you have consumer grade on one end and professional on the other with a lot of marketing money spent on a whole lot of pro-sumer stuff in the middle. Love how Ridgid has been able to stay at the professional end of the tool market.

I used this to cut 1" diameter electrical conduit pipe for the frames of my two canvas wall tents. The tool is perfect for this job, very sturdy and excellent quality. The blade cuts efficiently through the steel pipe. For all of the total pipes I needed to cut for two wall tents, I replaced the blade once. Once cut, the outside diameter of the cut is rolled in, so there are no burrs on the outside rim of the fresh cut. That is nice. However, the rolled steel is pushed into the inside diameter, so you might consider getting the Ridgid brand demurring tool if safety is a concern for you. This is what I got, also on Home Essentials Direct, and it works great: RIDGID 29983 223S Stainless Steel Pipe Reamer, 1/4-inch to 1-1/4-inch Inner/Outer ReamerSteel burrs make a ... MoreI used this to cut 1" diameter electrical conduit pipe for the frames of my two canvas wall tents. Bought new no.20 copper tube cutters and they walk. I have not used them very much. I tried replacing the cutting wheel and tighten the screws and no luck. Ridgid wants me to send them back. Can’t be without them for a long time. The supply house where I bought them from should just exchange them and deal with ridgid on returning them.

Pricey unit, but works very well, even on thin steel piping used for conduit. I checked many stores, online sites, and read reviews of the lesser brands to learn most people do not recognize that the lower priced options generally will not cut through steel conduit.....but this one does, very well. It has a very smooth operation, takes only a bit of practice to work up a nice technique, and gives really clean cuts with little or no left overs to worry about slicing your finger. Of course it is always good to round off cut pipe ends with a file, but this cutter does such a good job that filing after the cut may not be needed most of the time. Very happy customer, would gladly purchase it again.......but it is so well built that it will likely last quite a long time.

Ridgid sells several pipe cutters. This particular model isn't the one I wanted but the only one HD stocks. It's a little high priced for the model it is in my opinion. It cuts thin wall conduit just fine. I didn't have any issues. Cutting wheels can be changed. The reamer which is standard on these pipe cutters isn't worth a hoot. If all you want to cut is thin wall conduit or maybe some copper pipe and you don't mind spending more than you should for a tool to do so then this one will certainly for the bill.If you want to cut SS, Black pipe or a thicker wall conduit.. look to other Ridgid models or another brand.Ridgid pipe cutters are good, no doubt. Used to cut thru golf stainless steel shafts. Probably too large for this task as you have to stabilize to get an even cut and I was off a little bit on two shafts. Used inside reamer for burrs, then file to round outside edges. Liked having a spare cutting wheel.

Worked great right out of the package. I bought this to cut 1" EMT conduit for a project, but I could not haul the 10 foot long sections in my jeep. A little math and this tool, cut conduit down to six 5 foot section. Those fit perfectly in the jeep. At home I used this again to make 4 more cuts. No issues, no strange edges. All nice cuts. Put it in my tool box for the next project. Worth every penny.
