I would recommend to anyone without hesitation to buy it !
10 November 2019
11-10-19 I was putting in a back-up sump pump. I was configuring a single discharge PVC pipe to a Y PVC discharge pipe. Two sump discharge pipes into one house discharge pipe. I had to make several cuts of a 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe to make the Y configuration. This Ridgid RC-2375 Ratchet Action 2" Pipe and Tubing Cutter, cut through the 1 1/2 inch PVC like BUTTER ! Yes it could be viewed as a little pricey BUT it made my job simple, quick, with CLEAN CUTS and it let me focus on the other steps of the task quickly ! The flow of the project was NOT slowed down waiting tohack-saw a measured cut. As you may perceive, I am quite pleased with this tool.... Show more

Man I love these cutters. I didn’t see any sense in getting the 1 1/2” ones because these can obviously do both. Clean cuts and the great thing is theres no plastic to clean up if you’re using a reciprocating saw instead. I use it for everything from 3/4 PVC up to 2” ABS/PVC. Blade life is good so far. Ive been using it for a month now with use at least 10 times a day and its still cutting nice... Show more

Love them but weak spring

I am Journeyman Fire Sprinkler Fitter. I primarily work with cpvc and have been buying and using these cutters from day one as an apprentice. I know this product through and through. They have been my choice cutters for cpvc sized .75”-1.25” anything bigger than that I use a sawzall since it’s much less strain I have tried the bigger size though and have cut 2” pipe with them and it does work, but it’s tiring to squeeze all day. I highly recommend using cutters vs a sawzall for anything 1.25” and under. That said the spring is the link. It always has been, but in the past I’ve been able to get at least 6 months of daily use cutting hundreds of feet of pipe. This last purchase I didn’t even have a month before the spring went though. You can reattach it, and I have but it seems once it slips it continues to slip often and it’s not easily reattached. It’s truly unfortunate that this problem seems to be getting worse rather than better. If it continues I’m going to have to be forced to start buying another brand. It’s too much of a pain being out in the field and having the spring slip.... Show more

This cutter seems be well built, as I would expect any tool from RIDGID to be. For these prices they should be. I've only used it a couple times. I was cutting 2" ID, Schedule 40 PVC. The cut was cleaner than other cutters I have used recently. That said, it still wasn't the perfectly square cut I think I have a right to expect from a nearly $100.00 tool.Once this job is finished, most of my cuts should be either 1/2" or 3/4" PEX. I certainly hope those cuts will be cleaner.... Show more

Smooth action, straight cuts, sharp blade, and more durable than others. If you're looking for a ratcheting cutter for plastic this is the one. This cutter saves a lot of time in tight spots where the sawzall doesn't fit so well.... Show more

Worth It
24 October 2022
Creates quick clean cuts. Much faster than other options. Some reviews of this and other similar cuters complain that it does not create square cuts. There is a trick to using this tool to get a square cut; both sides of a cut need to bend away from the blade to cut squarely. The jaw of the cutter is chamfered for it to work this way. If you hold the cutter square to the pipe it will force the blade through at an angle.... Show more
