With a slightly tapered opening, the large bowl develops intense aromas and demonstrates mouth-filling fruit, a dignified structure, and a long, sweet finish on the palate.

I bought these to replace one of the same style, though much older, that I broke by accident.Great that Riedel still provide the exact same glass design. Put next to each other one could not tell the difference between the old (>15 years I think) and new. And still great looking glasses, with a clear long-lasting 'ting' when tapping together during a toast. The only reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is that the new glasses are much thinner than the old ones. This might be due to big advances in glass technology and I could be doing Riedel a disservice. But being much thinner I wonder if they will last as long. On the other hand, the new ones are much lighter.

These very thin and somewhat fragile glasses are fantastic for bringing out the best in whatever red wine you are drinking. I've used them for Cab, Zin, and even Vintage and LBV ports. I hope they are always available at BB&B.
This offering in the Reidel Vinum series is a good value in crystal glassware which is designed specifically for certain grape/wine varietals. These are crafted for California and Bordeaux type varietals that are predominately Cab Sauvignon and/or Merlot. The bowl is generous and you might be inclined to fill 'er up, but the fill level depicted is actually appropriate, around 6 oz... OK maybe 7 oz. This leaves adequate room for swirling to help aerate the juice. The diameter of the rim allows most noses access to the bowl- afterall, smelling is a big part of tasting. I think this glass compliments the experience of drinking the wines it is designed for. One word of warning- handle these with care. The stems are long and thin- elegant to behold, but somewhat fragile. I recommend hand washing the glasses rather than putting them in the dishwasher- they can stand up to automatic washers, but they water jets may knock them over resulting in chips or breaks. Cheers!
I have been buying Riedel wine glasses for many years now. Their Vinum range of varietal glasses are really beautiful both to drink from and to look at. Unfortunately, even the best glasses get broken on occasion, and these were purchased to replace two recent breakages.I have never come across wine glasses as good as these from any other manufacturer, and would happily continue buying from the Vinum range as long as it remains available - I did recently notice that they now have a new range, which unfortunately just look tacky by comparison, so I am hoping for less breakages if they discontinue the Vinum range.
19 Crimes Red Blend has been our favorite winter red for a number of years. Don't buy it if you like powerful red wines. Smooth drinking similar to the best Merlot's. Ladies love it.
These Riedel glasses enhance the drinking experience by bringing out the intensity and bouquet of the wine. At 700ml capacity & 24.5cm tall, they are elegant and sophisticated - a joy to use. The shape is perfectly designed to ensure the the wine is enjoyed at its optimum tasting experience. These glasses are a masterstroke of craftmanship.
For any medium or better glass of red wine, I find these are excellent glasses to bring out the bouquet and flavour. It's remarkable how wine can taste far better when drank out of a decent glass. They look elegant, and lovely and crystal clear. They are rightly shaped to take a quantity that you can swirl in your glass, and enough space to appreciate the nose before sipping. They are called Shiraz, but I find them good all rounders, for Shiraz, Cab, Monastrell, Grenache. (But for Pinot Noir they are not right... go shop elsewhere if you care about your PN).There are some Cab Sauv glasses in this range, I had a couple of those, magnificent, but they were just too tall to be practical in daily use, so easy to break.
