For the price, they really aren't very good gloves. Made in China, and if I knew that, I would have never purchased. I am 160 lbs. The 16oz is a very tight fit and hurts my thumbs when throwing certain punches (especially left hooks). Overall, very disappointed and will never purchase another pair of Rival gloves.

These gloves have outdone my expectations by far. They fit like a glove (pardon the pun) and are a delight to put my hand in every time I slide them on, they're extremely comfortable.They give me the best feedback I've ever had out of any set of gloves, you really get that snap when doing pad work. Not to mention how precise and responsive they feel whilst sparring.As someone with heavy hands I'm glad to have found a glove that I'm confident in the knuckle padding and wrist support, I'm no longer worried about blowing my knuckles out. These feel like a perfect blend of a pillow punchers/defensive glove. I've unfortunately learnt my lesson with Mexican style punchers gloves. Not good if u have big hands. I have these and the older 2 strap version. The old ones are so good. These ones are so small, the 16oz fits like a 12oz. I put my hand in and the whole last digit of my fingers is past the padded and just smashed up against the solid leather with no protection. Cant throw a punch with them on without feeling like im stubbing my (toe) fingers against the end of the finger compartment. Also cant fit them on with wraps on really. I have pretty average sized hands and never had a problem with any other glove before including other rival gloves

100% recommend, especially if you can't go to work with a black eye or broken nose. Fits good, looks good and protects great. Love it! You will certainly loose some peripheral vision, but that is expected. If you are focused on your opponent 100% you can see and feel the shots coming anyway. Because this head gear is so effective at minimizing face damage, be sure you do not get in the habit of "accepting" punches needlessly. Thanks again Rival!
I have very long fingers (especially my thumbs) and these are the only gloves I’ve used that truly give me the room that I need. The quality is superb. The wrist support is great. I never leave reviews, but I had to for these. Best gloves I’ve ever had.

Pros:-Wrist strap is amazing; far better than other velcros to the point of being almost as good as laces (but not quite)-Very durable. I use them both for training and sparring since I don't like the 6oz weight difference between bag gloves and sparring gloves.-Good protection. I have decent punching power and barely feel a thing in these gloves. I do think people with extreme punching power will need something even softer like RS10s or Winning.Neutral:-Synthetic leather is of very high quality. I personally prefer real leather for that 'vintage' feel, but the synthetic needs virtually no maintenance unlike leather-The mesh on the hand is quite thick. This helps catching with people who have strong jabs, but the also makes the glove quite hot. There were a few loose threads and such but nothing too drastic. I have two issues. One with the product and now one with the brand. With the product, my issue is sizing as the title states. I am 155 lb and 5'9". I also have a palm diameter of 21.5 cm which based on the sizing charts for the gloves indicates my hand is a little oversized for these gloves. Nothing could be further from the truth. I had to cinch the velcro straps so tight that half the velcro was hanging off. Even then my hand was swimming inside the glove. I did try them in one sparring session as I thought maybe once used they might form a bit better to my hand. I was wrong. Halfway through my first round my hand started sliding out of the glove. Now that I have used them I cannot return them which I knew would happen.My second issue is with Rival's customer service. This is the main reason for the 2 stars. I reached out about my experience to let them know. I didn't ask for anything, threaten them with any type of slandering and was not rude in my email. It has been over a week since I sent my email and other than an auto reply I have not heard a thing back from the company. This is the most disappointing thing.
I had great expectation about these gloves, they are the more expensive ones from your line. But unfortunately, I have excruciating pain in my wrists and knuckles every time I use them. I do boxing for more than 7 years, and my hands are conditioned to impact, and I have no problem working a heavy bag with just bag mitts. But these gloves don’t allow me to form a proper fist, and any work really hurts, I even had to take time off the gym because of this. Initially, I thought I just need to break them up on a heavy bag and they will be fine, but after almost a month of using them on the bag and pads, I cannot suffer any more. I have to admit that these gloves are not for me.
I couldn’t be happier with my new sparring gloves. Great fit and hand protection, amazing wrist support. Love the finger bar and they’re easy to put on and close with the other hand already gloved up. Shipping was within 3 days. Won’t be my last purchase from Rival.
