I think some doubt how much a good DAC can improve rendering. And I am a huge "law of diminishing returns" person and do not spend large amounts of money on individual components and this one is pushing it. But let me tell ya...wow...it really made a big difference esp compared to stock, internal DACs. Most high-end DACs...more expensive ones...don't have the features this one has because it's targeted to the pro audience. I'm a pro sound guy and an audiophile. I got this more for just listening but you could do some wonderful mastering with this baby as well. I've had it several months now and it's the perfect compliment to my PC based Roon core. Oh and headphones? I would get this just for headphone listening if that was my thing. Handles my Hi-Z phones no problem ... MoreI think some doubt how much a good DAC can improve rendering. A superb device which has a very pleasing neutrality in its audio presentation and a multitude of features - thankfully well documented in their manuals. Very easy to get it up and running, but note that if you want to reuse RCA connections then you'll need 6.35mm jacks to RCA connectors. I went with XLR as my amplifier supports this. The included remote is also a step up from many included remotes.

Extremely clean sound and impeccable build quality. Small footprint that is perfect for small desks.
This is a niche product. If you need good DSP with presets but only 5 parametric EQ bands, this is for you. Most people don't though. If you need a headphone amp and DAC combo, the non-Pro version works the same and is much cheaper. If you need an ADC, there are a cheaper options that do as well. This might make more sense for studio use, I use it to EQ my headphones in between my DAC and headphone amplifiers. It was the cheapest high quality option that provided the features I wanted.
The RME ADI pro is a great DAC. Last in you audio chain. Small and compact. The headphone amps are excellentI am hearing things on my favourite reference tracks I hand not heard before
superb quality and build
