It took about an hour before I could comfortably get around on the totalmix layout but once I figured it out, I was up and running even better than on my old motu 2408 mkll! The cue mix software sounds fantastic and pretty simple to operate! I feel like a blanket has been lifted of my speakers. I recorded a quick except of drums and keyboards. The tracks sounded so amazing dry that no efx were even needed! I 100% recommend this unit. You won’t be able to go back to anything lesser I promise you!!

It has all the I/O need. The pramps are great sounding. I am able to record at 192K with a 128 buffer size without an issue. On playback I raise the buffer to 256. I use the front Midi ports for my Roland electronic drum set and the rear Midi ports for my SSL88 controller and Roland Integra 7.It's great to have the digital I/O but I mostly use the analog. This unit has been stable and it's sound quality is fantastic. The Totalmix is amazing for it's routing capabilities. I haven't tried recording to a memory stick yet but i will try it out. I'm looking forward to many years of making great music with it.

The most important thing to know about the RME UFX lineup, is that they all sound unbelievably good. The UFX II and UFX+ (My current unit) are the cream of the crop. The reliability, support (timely firmware updates) and usability are the best around. Bar none. I've had audio interfaces with better specifications, but not by much, and in real life usage, none sounded this good. With such an incredibly low noise floor and true to life sound, you really do get the feeling of having a blanket removed from your recordings. I had a MOTU before I went with RME. I figured that the RME was hyped and overpriced. I was completely wrong. They are the top dog along with Universal Audio and both brands offer professional, studio quality rack mount gear. I figured that the RME was hyped and overpriced. I was completely wrong. They are the top dog along with Universal Audio and both brands offer professional, studio quality rack mount gear. But, UA doesn't have USB interfaces for their top units. Thunderbolt, but not USB? Seems like a huge mistake to me. Not everybody uses ProTools, especially these days. But anyway, you miss out on nothing vs. UA with the RME unless you're a big plug-in guy. I'm not. I record direct in with my Roland TD27, via the AXE FX III for guitar and bass, MIDI keyboards and various Mic's for acoustic guitar. BTW...UFX Mic Pre's are LEGENDARY! The RME works seamlessly with all inputs active, maintains low noise, (That you can actually monitor with included Bit Level Noisefloor software) via excellent internal isolation of all inputs and makes work flow extremely easy with the elegant and highly configurable TotalMix Software. It alot to drop on gear, but this will be your centerpiece item in your or live recording rig for years and years to come. RME never stops supporting their legacy gear. So you know that you can be covered for the next 10+ years, easily, when you buy RME gear. German engineered for longevity and pristine quality. I'm done gushing. Get it.
This is my first audio interface. I research online and found the RME Fireface UFX 11. Its well worth the money. Total Mix gives you a lot of control once you figure it out. Great all around product! Many ins and outs. Pick the unit that suites your needs. I won't need to upgrade for a while!
Great unit, replaced my FF800 which died. However, for some reason the chassis is a few mm bigger than the FF800 and wouldn’t fit in the rack on my desk. Why would they make it bigger?? Probably my desk, but if your FF800 is already a bit snug, and you’re looking to upgrade, bear this in mind.
The best sound quality without complaints.Have chemistry with high-end condenser microphones.
This audio interface is a very well-built interface with very low latency and regularly updated drivers. The recording sounds are top quality (with the appropriate mic) and the listening is very detailed either on Headphones and monitors.Total Mix is a very complete and helpful application, it has tons of possibilities but is simple to use when you just want plug and play solutions (DAW mode).
A gorgeous thing !!! Everything is working!!! The sound is great !!!
This item was perfect for me requirements. Installing the Fireface UFX ii and its software went without a hitch. It now just sits on my desk and works perfectly. I can easily play the Pro Tools demo song with a buffer of 32 samples and no dropouts! Much better performance than my old firewire interfaces.
