Roborock Q5 Pro+ Robot Vacuum and Mop with Auto-Empty Dock

The Q Revo has saved my sanity. I used to have a robot vacuum that I thought was smart, until I realised how much I had to baby it, especially when it was mopping. Instead of saving me time, I just felt like I was spending more time cleaning another thing up. It just wasn’t the future that I envisioned. So I decided to get on the tube(you) and DYOR and found robots that actually save you time and clean up after themselves and not make you feel miserable.And that’s how I ended up with the Q Revo. I just fill the clean water tank, empty out the dirty water tank when needed, and check on the dust bin inside the dock every couple weeks or so. A big step up for us as a basic robot vacuum.

We previously had the Wyze Robot vacuum. It had served us well, but from previous testing, when the Robo Rock went on sale, I already knew I liked the app and mapping better. Being able to connect rooms to inside walls really makes a differnce in being able to divide rooms. The text is a little hard to see, but over all not bad. Wyze Alexa integration had been broken for a while, so taking a chance on Roborock putting more effort in. Honestly I'm convinced it's Amazon causing the issues. It works ...better. you have to really annunciate and pause just the right amount between "Robo" and "Rock" to get it to activate. Not a deal breaker but annoying as if you say it to fast, Alexa responds "I don't know how to set (vacuum name) to that setting. So it knows the vacuum name but appears to get confused with RoboVac naming. I like how you can remove the dust bin from the back, as we have its base setup under a piece of furniture which is awesome because it's really out of the way. The dust bin also seems to fill up better and not get clogged. The twin rollers are amazing, probably not quite as "fluffing" as brushes, but they allow far more debris through and don't clog with hair. Maintenance has been much lower. I also noticed the unit is pretty light and I though that might be an issue, but the rollers float in the unit to contact the ground. The Wyze was heavy and because it followed the same path, had really matted down track marks in the carpet. Being able to vacuum both directions if you select more than 1x cleaning is a great feature too. I really like the automatic suction, where it ups the suction on carpets,and lowers on hard floors. Overall, it improves on so many things without being worse at any. It does managed to catch the edge of chairs and "clunk" more on occasion. Bump noises were very minimal on Wyze.The mop however is pretty pointless,so much so I haven't used it. It's just basically dragging a rag that it continually moistens from a small clip on flat reservoir under the unit. So you can't mop areas with mixed rug/carpet and hard floors. It's not important to us, and I feel it's just a feature they added to say it "mops".

The best price was on Roborock's website and with my student discount. It was really affordable with the discount (I appreciate that Roborock). I previously had an iRobot Roomba i3, which destroyed the fringe on my carpet and tried climbing up my bed skirt (I returned it after three days). After doing research, I came across this robot vacuum. The navigation is fantastic, and the no-go zones are very accurate. The pickup ability is about the same as the i3. The dustbin is humongous, and the battery life is perfect. I was able to vacuum over 1000 square feet on one charge. The charge time seems long, but it is a big battery, so it is okay. I have mostly hard floors and a dog that does not shed much. It can get long hair tangled in the brush rolls. I recommend cleaning them out after you can see hair tangled. I wish more replacement parts were available online, but I am sure as this robot gets older, more parts will be available. Overall, this has been a great purchase. It can certainly do everything I need it to do.

Best vacuum we've ever had

We have a Miele canister vac that we thought couldn't be beat for picking up hair from two dogs and cat. The dogs especially produce mini tumbleweeds constantly. We purchased the Roborock Q5 for in-between deep vacuuming with the Miele but ... the Roborock does a far superior job! The Miele is in the closet. We have wood floors and oriental carpets located on two floors. It's been four months and this thing ... rocks!

Exceeded every expectation!

I bought the Q5 Pro+ to replace a Roomba S9+ after 2 years of frustration. This robot is light years better than the Roomba in every aspect of its features and performance. I could go through all the areas one by one but suffice it to say that there is not a single area that it has not exceeded our expectations and unbelievably outperformed the Roomba at almost half the price. The quality of the mapping and navigation alone would justify the purchase and combined with the functionality and performance we feel it is unbeatable after 8 years with Roombas. Thank you for a great product.

HORRIBLE VACUUM, MOPPING, AND SERVICE ROBOROCK

The vacuum cleaner does not clean properly. It leaves dog hair and dust behind.The mopping is a joke as it doesn't mop at all. It leaves the floor a bit wet but no moping is done. After contacting the Roborock customer service team which by the way is via chat or email no phone number is provided anywhere online or on their website. I asked to exchange the device for one that has a higher sucking power and actually mops. I was told that would not be possible, but that another service team would contact me via email. This is a joke. I only had this device for two months and was only able to use it twice in max sucking with no success. After more research online many others had the same complaint I have. Love this!

I’ve tried the roomba, shark, and some off brand vacuum but nothing compared to Roborock. It actually maps your house and goes in a line back and forth over everything so there are no spots missed unlike the other vacuums that just go in random directions. The pro also has more space in the dust chamber so I don’t have to dump it everyday like the regular Q5 (which I also loved.) the mop feature is okay but I wish it had the rotating scrub brushes like the more expensive model has. This mop basically just wets the floor and you need to remove it once it’s done otherwise you’ll have a big wet spot under the vacuum but that’s also stated in the instructions. :)

Not great

I give it credit for having a decent app and mapping system. However, I have never been able to run a single cycle without it eating something. Anything that is near the floor or plugged into a wall will be eaten up by this thing and cause it to get stuck and stop operating. It's not very useful if it can never finish a cycle. It also doesn't suck up dog hair from rugs. It pushes the hair to the edge of the rug and leaves it there in piles.

Love this robot vacuum! I have a dog with long hair and a cat. This vacuum does an amazing job picking up all of the hair. Life changing! The mopping function works great too. The self-emptying function is a must have. This is a smart vacuum. So easy to program. It is an incredible value for what you get. I love it so much, I am buying a second one.
