With its robust design and powerful neodymium capsule, the RØDE M1 dynamic microphone with each even at the gripping Live-Gig. The ergonomic housing of the M1 fits perfectly in the hand. It feels robust, but by no means difficult or klobig. Handling noises are suppressed, thanks to a sophisticated design almost completely. With its warm and at the same time, surprisingly, defined sound (for a dynamic microphone) forms the M1 almost any voice of your chocolate side. The pronounced cardioid characteristic prevents the falling of many background noises and thus also feedback. Although the M1 has been designed as a vocal microphone, it is equally suitable for the approval of guitar amps, bass drum, snare, tom-toms and percussion. This text is machine translated.

Bought a Rode M1 mic advertised with a can. Did not receive can, instead received mic in a box. Bought this partly because of the can which apparently does not come with the mic. Complained about this, yet product is still being advertised falsely.

I'm very pleased with the purchase of my Rode M1 microphone. I have been a pro musician since 1972 and have had numerous mics over this period...of course Shure 58's were the popular choice, but the Rode M1 is a stand out great vocal mic with dynamic performance...love it!!I've found it very handy and responsive as an overhead mic on my drum kit as well...best of both worlds

Great mic. Used it for vocals for a solo guitarist recently and it sounded beautiful. Clean and full. Great price, too.

Best dynamic Mic for live performances
20 October 2017

Great for any live vocal performance. A major step up from shure sm58 standard at a similar price. Have owned both sm58 and rode m1 for over a decade and the quality of sound the m1 brings to the table makes it my favorite. Mostly rock music applications, some very heavy and some light stuff included. Again, bought mine many year's ago but have never been concerned that it didn't arrive in a metal box...

Excellent Mic
18 November 2009

Using a flat eq setting this mic was the winner of many that I tried at the Guitar Center. In the past, I tried several mics but kept going back to my SM58. I used the SM58 as my baseline for testing in the Guitar Center. I am still in the honeymoon phase; however, this mic is much warmer and fuller (and a bit more airy) than my SM58. It was simply the best that I tried in the store. I play guitar and sing - I like the SM58 because it is a bit forgiving on mic technique as I tend to move around a bit when I play. This mic is similar in that regard but just more hi/fi, warmer, and airy - just a more pleasing sound. No harshness. So far I am loving it.

Good not Great.
23 February 2011

I got this mic because my brother is obssesed with singing karaoke he can do it all day if he has to. The sound quility recored is good but could be better its not expensive and its realiable its very good if your an Amateur but its not for profesionals. Ive tried connecting it to fruity loops on my computer and the 7th edition of FL really makes things way better for amateurs like me. I think sony and other well known brands are better but I could be wrong if your not into karaoke then dont get it. The waranty is very good and makes me really proud of what ive bought. I use it like every two weeks the frequency range is like from 75hz to 18khz. Iove the feel of the product I must admit the perforfance is pretty awesome. But its just way too standard for me I kindo ... MoreI got this mic because my brother is obssesed with singing karaoke he can do it all day if he has to. So inconclusion the product is good but not great i really would recommend it to someone with a couple of bucks in their pocket. It would help to pass the time and keep you occupied, thanks for reading.

It sucks!
17 July 2017

It sucks! The microphone is very quiet. The paint quality is terrible. It's all covered with a rough grit! Tortured to scrub. Packaging is a cardboard box! No packing in metal tubes - as pictured on the website!!

Review of LR Baggs M1 Soundhole Pickup
10 May 2018

Great sound from this passive pickup, but using it with my Boss AC33 acoustic amp the volume was very low and I had to put it through a pre-amp (Boss VE8). The sound varies enormously depending on positioning of the pickup. One of the things the user documentation does not make clear is that actual body of the pickup should not be in contact with the edges of the soundhole (only the brackets should be in contact) so move the pickup about 1/8" toward the bridge to avoid too much treble. Contrary to most of the advice on the internet and LR Baggs forums, I did not really find that adjusting the pole pieces close to the strings had a major effect on either the volume or tone, but this may just be a case of playing in one setting for a few days and then making a change ... MoreGreat sound from this passive pickup, but using it with my Boss AC33 acoustic amp the volume was very low and I had to put it through a pre-amp (Boss VE8). I use headphones when making adjustments so that the sound I am getting via the pickup through the amp is not confused with the sound from the guitar body itself. I got my local guitar shop to hardwire the pickup into my Yamaha FG-441 S for £35. All in all I am very happy with the pickup, but if you don't have a pre-amp It might be a good idea to check it out (temporary install) with your amp to make sure that you get the volume before you buy (or get the active version).

Top quality mic
17 March 2020

The rode is a fantastic quality mic, feels great in the hand. Slightly darker with a richer fuller tone than my goto sm58. Live, it has great feedback suppression. Cannot fault it in any way!

better than the SM58

Sound:comparing this to its nemesis the shure SM58, i hate to say it after believing in shure for so long but the rode M1 is better in so many different ways. the sound is clearer, doesnt break up as early, picks up less background noise and it costs less than the shure which makes it sound even better.Features:no features besides sounding great, so it must be 10 out of 10Ease of Use:pretty dam easy if you know what your doing....Quality:made like a tank, and its heavy, rock solid...Value:$150au is what i paid and it was $50 cheaper than the SM58 and the rode comes with a ten year warranty.Manufacturer Support:its comes with a ten year warranty and if a company is that confident it'll last that long, then so am i, otherwise it'd be 12month like the ... MoreSound:comparing this to its nemesis the shure SM58, i hate to say it after believing in shure for so long but the rode M1 is better in so many different ways. the sound is clearer, doesnt break up as early, picks up less background noise and it costs less than the shure which makes it sound even better.Features:no features besides sounding great, so it must be 10 out of 10Ease of Use:pretty dam easy if you know what your doing....Quality:made like a tank, and its heavy, rock solid...Value:$150au is what i paid and it was $50 cheaper than the SM58 and the rode comes with a ten year warranty.Manufacturer Support:its comes with a ten year warranty and if a company is that confident it'll last that long, then so am i, otherwise it'd be 12month like the shureThe Wow Factor:yes pleaseOverall:its simple, its $50 cheaper than the SM58, it comes with a longer warranty and after using it at one rehearsal after using a SM58's for so long it sounds better. i didnt believe it at first but all i can say is does anyone wanna buy a shure SM58 cause im done with it
