I use the the RODE headphone/microphone combination with an iPhone. Works better than any headset I've used previously. Excellent product and great design.

I already own the Rode Procaster2 and a set of NTH Headphones, so when I saw that there is a compatible microphone I jumped at the chance to marry it up with the headphones and the Procaster 2. I plugged it all in and was unable to record anything using the NTH-MIC. No signal got through at all. Now, I am a user and radio program producer, not an engineer. I assumed that using all Rode compatible equipment, it should work perfectly. I contacted RODE to see if I could have my equipment checked. They helpfully advised that I didn’t need to have it checked, as there was nothing wrong with it. Apparently in order to use the RODE NTH-MIC, with the Rode NTH headphones and the Rode Procaster2, I needed to purchase an additional $64 adapter to provide the 5 volts the mic ... MoreI already own the Rode Procaster2 and a set of NTH Headphones, so when I saw that there is a compatible microphone I jumped at the chance to marry it up with the headphones and the Procaster 2. Apparently in order to use the RODE NTH-MIC, with the Rode NTH headphones and the Rode Procaster2, I needed to purchase an additional $64 adapter to provide the 5 volts the mic needs. WHAT????? I needed an additional expensive adapter in order to get this combination of what I thought was top-of-the-line compatible Rode equipment working? Why did none of their advertising mention this? It all suggests plug-and-play. Well it isn’t, and the advertising should say this before you purchase the $100 mic. Mind, now that I have spent the additional money to purchase the adapter, it all works really well. Recordings are clear and full-bodied. The recordings are not quite as good as those made using my large capsule studio condenser mic, but they are very, very close in quality and very suitable for radio and podcasting needs. I fully recommend purchasing the Rode NTH-MIC. Just be aware that it needs line-level 5 volts, so you may need to purchase an XLR to 3.5 mm power adapter, unless you are using some other audio interface between your computer and the mic/headset combination. It certainly does not like 48 volt phantom power. In fact, that might damage the sensitive mic. Using the NTH-MIC I can turn my head while reading scripts without needing to worry about mic placement. You get even level recordings that have great clarity using the mic-headphone combination. Overall, I thoroughly recommend the Rode NTH-MIC.

I greatly looked forward to receiving and trying this new mic out as an accessory to my NTH-100 headphones. My main purpose was to use it for livestreams on YouTube and podcasts if possible. I can say the audio sound is super highly impressive for such a small mic! Also, on video it really looks good and professional in appearance. Certainly many people will use these for gaming and other forms of livestream. But if you have a set of the first generation NTH-100s from RODE, GET THE NEW MIC!! It's low-cost for an excellent mic at $65 that will increase the use and versatility of your NTH-100 headphones! GREAT product!
