The rodecaster pro has a blue tooth function available but a cable connection will always give you far better quality of connection so you need this if you're making calls for your pod for interviews.

When you buy a cable, you want it to work as intended. This one does. I needed something to connect my iPhone to my Rodecaster Pro. I didn't want to test a dozen different products or talk to tech support or read technical manuals. I just wanted to plug one end of the cable into the Rodecaster and the other into my phone and for it to work. It did. End of review ;-)
I had a few other TRRS cables that I tried in the Rodecaster and although they worked, I wanted a longer cable to allow me to move my phone around more easily when having someone call into while recording. It's nice to have a long cable offered by Rode so I know the quality is there as well!
We have bluetooth access to use our phones with the mixer but this TRRS goes perfectly with the RODECaster Pro and it just gives it a slightly better sound than the bluetooth. Good for those that use your phone or external devices or other devices with your mixers.
Decided I wanted the option to add video clips to my podcast but didn't want to buy webcams, etc.. This was essentially a plug-and-play solution for both the old iPhone and a Galaxy S21 Ultra. No latency that I've noticed although the audio records to the phone in mono. That stinks but it's worth the trade off. You'll need the adapter for your phone (available at Best Buy) and Rode's cable is ridiculously priced, as you can see, but I still paid it and will again if I get bored and want to easily add a second camera.
TRRS cables are not widely used, and therefore not widely available. I had to order online, but the RODE pricing was a bit steep in my personal opinion.
If you use a protective case on your phone, there's a good chance this won't fit unless you remove the case. The plug itself is much larger than usual and doesn't seat properly unless your case has a truly large audio port opening. Take a look at the product photo. Bad design in my opinion. Every other headphone plug fits through the hold in my case . . . but not this one. So . . . ensure compatibility but also frustration by purchasing this overpriced Rode cable, or buy something else which may not be compatible, but will fit your phone case, and cost half as much. You decide! There's no circuitry in this right? So how could another TRRS cable not be compatible unless it's mechanically defective? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
