I have been buying these crab pots for the last few years. Just purchased two more. Very good results catching crabs compared to my wire pots. They are a good design and with a little bit of TLC will give you many years of service. (Wash them after use with the hose)I modified mine with a xed steel wire on the opening side for easy pull ups. See photo

These pots are fine. Anyone that thinks you can walk into a store a buy a crab pot ready to throw is kidding themselves.Absolutely pays to check mesh, knots, and overal shop bought condition prior to use - but this is part of preparation. As for rusting - unless you are using them in freshwater they will get some rust - so after using it pays to hose thoroughly and stand to dry.Sort of glad that people rated these pots pretty low because it likely means they didn't catch crabs and the more were left for me.

Inexpensive. Not too heavy. Aluminium so don’t rust. Lightweight webbing. Not sure how long they will last.

Crab pots. 4 entry
2 April 2020

Purchased 2 weeks ago. Set next day. Overnight. Capture in excess of 30 crabs. Only 3 legals. Pots are best i have used. Love the fact the poly pipe supports separate from the pot. Bait holder is so easy to use.

Good value for money
7 June 2020

A fair dinkum crab pot at a reasonable price. Heavy rings, thick mesh, bait bag, and wear ropes. I zip tied the ends of the wear ropes to the frame, otherwise nothing I would change. Perfect for muddies or sandies, won't wash away, won't get chewed to bits.

Great value, Poor quality control.
23 January 2021

Pots tuned up in the mail quickly. Good value for money pots. I suggest buying from store if possible. 2 of 4 pots had large holes in net I had to patch. 1 of 4 pots metal bar was wonky and plastic legs needed trimming shorter to fit the pot. I zip tied the ends of orange rope wrap as it looks like it would come lose easily. Can't argue for price value L, I woukd buy them again.

NOT heavy duty!
19 January 2023

Pot is too light (only 10mm rings), mesh is fairy floss and half the knots come undone when you set it up. Better off investing in gear made by professionals for professionals rather than these mass manufactured river chokers.

Overpriced, poor quality crab pot is a Rogue
16 June 2018

Rogue Heavy Duty Crab Pot is of poor quality. The 10 mm galvanized rings begin to rust within a few months. The mesh is weak and is not woven together effectively at the join (half way between top and bottom ring). However BCF did honor the 12 month guarantee and replaced all four pots but new ones are just as bad. For the price these Rogue pots should last a very long time but they don't.

Poor quality crab pots
12 January 2022

Purchased 4 new pots from Oxenford BCF store, one pot plastic pole wasn't even looped inside the frame came across it during usage so ended up using only the three plastic poles to hold up the pot. 2 out of the 4 pots purchased had rusted frame after one day soak.

Rogue heavy duty crab pot ok for light action
13 August 2018

The Rogue Heavy Duty crab pot is a satisfactory crab pot for occasional crabbers only. However the pot is poorly made and will not suit crabbers who use the pot on a regular basis. The mesh does not last long. Crabs will easily chew their way out. The rings are said to be galvanised but will rust within 4 months. Too expensive, look elsewhere.
