Excellent for my needs. I have a Roland synthesizer and a heavier amplifier which was getting too much for me to transport. The Roland Cube is small but powerful enough for my needs and with 3 independent channels for a keyboard, microphone and a second instrument.

I bought this to use while practicing with recorded music (YouTube, etc.). I wanted something that was full range / flat response so that I could get a true representation of my guitar through the Tech 21 Fly Rig. Boy does this deliver. The sound is smooth and full. I'm getting usable bass down to 50 Hz with smooth midrange and treble extension to the limit of my hearing (12 KHz). Dispersion is also quite good so I don't have to be exactly on axis to get good sound. I have not tried it with the band so I can't comment on how well it would work as a personal monitor in a live setting but based on my experience with the Mackie SRM-150 I suspect this Roland would be up to the task with no issues provided it was up on a stand and close to the performer. In a live setting I'd expect to roll the bass down a bit to protect the woofer and clean up the sound. On the down-side, the system is heavier than I'd like. The little mic-stand adapter does not inspire confidence. But, again, I didn't buy it for stage monitor purposes so I'm OK with it as is.

Severely out of date units. At 30W per single unit, you'll need at least two to get any volume worth noticing. And even that is not really very loud at all.I bought a pair thinking I could use a single unit to amplify my percussionist on smaller gigs, and use both for larger gigs. It turns out a single unit produces hardly more volume than my percussionist already makes when he is unamplified. So there's no benefit in having these as separate units, since you'll need to use both of them to get the volume you need. Two units, two power cables, two stands, connecting speaker cable - where's the benefit? I returned them.I'll be in the market for a Bose S1 Pro, or preferably, a JBK Eon One Compact.

Roland CM30 review:This amp is advertised as having 30 watts, but, not advertised as peak or RMS power. Let me assure you that it is 30 watts of peak power. The RMS power is always 1/4 of the peak power. So, this is a 7.5 watt RMS (useable power) amp. Imagine the top speed of your car is 130 mph, that is the "Peak" power of your car. But, everytime you get behind the wheel you drive at 65 mph or slower, that is the useable power of your car (RMS). If you drive your car at its peak power everytime you get behind the wheel, that engine will only last you for a very, very short time. The same with your amp, if you try to use its full (peak) power all the time, it's not going to last long and be prepared to shell out more money for a new amp. This is an over-priced ... MoreRoland CM30 review:This amp is advertised as having 30 watts, but, not advertised as peak or RMS power. The same with your amp, if you try to use its full (peak) power all the time, it's not going to last long and be prepared to shell out more money for a new amp. This is an over-priced bedroom studio or practice amp and not a performing amp. However, it is built solid and it does have a clean sound and a nice tone.I have a Kustom PA50 which I compared with this amp side by side. The Kustom PA50 also has a nice and clean tone, 3 independent channels each with its own EQ, two 4.5 inch drivers and a horn with MUCH louder volume, solid construction and clean craftsmanship for a fraction of the price of Roland CM-30. And it weighs only 2 lbs more than this Roland. This comparison made me love my Kustom PA50 even more than I did before.Needless to say, I shipped back the Roland CM-30 and ordered another Kustom PA50; I can hook them up together for 100 watts of power.
I purchased the C-30 for use as a speaker/monitor for a keyboard that was used outside for garden events. It provides plenty of clear volume and is light and easily portable. It performs as I had hoped.
The sound is excellent for what this amp is for. You can use it as a home monitor or gig monitor. Obviously, it’s for low volume gigs, not for Wembley. You probably have enough power for a small duo gig, too (although I haven’t tried it in that situation).Very good value for money, considering the trustworthiness of the brand. You can probably find cheaper but many times that’s exactly what you get: “cheap”Although durability can be only judged after a prolonged time of usage it looks like a tough little amp and will withstand the test of time.It looks good enough for me. Unless you’re a narcissistic peacock you won’t need anything fancier in a mini amp.As a last resort, you can always cover it with fake diamond looking stickers from the pound shop.
Roland has really done something special with the CM-30. I call them my "magic music bricks". I loved the first one I got so much I bought a second and the true stereo effect they produce has wowed me. The Cm-30 produces wonderful sounds: crisp, accurate and bright. I have a Korg Pa-700 arranger and it seems a match made in heaven. They seem so well made, virtually indestructible and should last many years. Since getting the two CM-30s, I have sold my two old larger amps. They were so heavy to carry and didnt sound as balanced and crisp, or deep as these. Do yourself a favor and get two of these. You will not regret it for one second.
I was looking for another amp for my Nord Electro 6D so gave this little box a try. I have been impressed by its clarity and power. It performs well above its weight class. The rotary organs sound brilliant and all the electric pianos have deep timbre and crystal clear high note tinkles. While it's true you couldn't play for hundreds at a full recital hall with the CM-30, it is so small and easy to use - just about everywhere else you will sound great! It's a professional quality piece of gear and I think it is a tremendous value at its price point. I promise you won' regret buying this little gem.
I brought this Roland 30 cube amp over eleven months ago and it still sounds great I have a larger fender amp however I brought this one for my keyboard the sound quality is excellent. So, I tested it out when I gave my Neice a boss Gt- 1000 Core for Christmas she played her Stratocaster and bass guitar thru the Roland 30 cube sounding amazing even the volume at halfway. My Neice she received and excellent report card and her dad and I we all played for over an hour and a half learning the new sounds in the boss Gt- 1000 core. The smile is priceless when a child gets a present on Christmas when you get something you really liked, I did my research she didn't have any pedals yet. The Roland 30 cube amp complements the boss Gt- 1000 Core it sounds great even after 11 ... MoreI brought this Roland 30 cube amp over eleven months ago and it still sounds great I have a larger fender amp however I brought this one for my keyboard the sound quality is excellent. I will definitely buy another Roland 30 cube for my Neice for her guitars to play thru the sound quality is warm and fills a room 18x 24 sounding wonderful! I would buy it again
Nice unit. It's super small, not much bigger than a bookshelf speaker. But the sound is solid. I turn up the bass EQ a bit and it will never be a full-range bass speaker, but it's pretty good. I use it for keyboard and drum machine stuff and it sounds great. Not something you would use for recording or gigging (except as a monitor). The unit is well made, feels very solid and not like the knobs or grill are going to sustain damage very easily. But what I like best about it is how small it is. Oh, and the fact that it has 3 inputs and easy control knobs that don't feel so cheap.
