This is a great pen. The colour is amazing in person, the pictures don't do it justice it's unbelievably deep and rich. The weight is just right and balanced. The knurling is comfortable and the hexagonal barrel compliments the grip section allowing it to rest comfortably in my hand. I'm not crazy about the standard refill that comes with the rotring 600. It's a good refill, it writes as a ballpoint should but it's not fun for me to use everyday. Since I got this pen I've had in my pocket everyday and have been using it from shopping lists to taking notes, signing delivery dockets and just general writing. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a solid pen.

This pen uses the Parker refill with a better ink flow. The clip is strong as is the barrel, it has an expensive feel to it and has a nice weight. Shop around as the price is not the same everywhere. I will be buying this pens refills in the future.

A good pen, but as others have noted, not up to the standard of the Rotring 600 mechanical pencils. The ink cartridge fit is a little loose and as a consequence it rattles. Nothing serious but enough to take away that 'quality' feel that you expect from something like this.
I am a professional navigator and I need good pen for my work. This model works great for me. I like the weight of it and the mechanism is efficient. I ordered 2. The black model looks way better though.
The pen has very good weight plus the knurled grip makes for an excellent writing instrument. Pair it with a good gel type refill like the Schmidt easy flow 9000, or the Itoya gel refill, and you have got an outstanding writing instrument for about 35 bucks.
This rOtring 600 is a continuation of the legendary 90's rOtring 600, which is now a collectible fetching up incredible (ridiculous) price. It's only a supprise to anyone that it took manufactures (be that Germany or Japanese) so long to decide to keep this legend alive. The design can be told from the very first glimpse that it is for PRECISION, and definitely an engineer-use pen: Solid Hexagonal Shaft, Knurl Grip for a firm hold when writing, Slender, yet durable and robust. It makes a perfect memorable gift for friends who enjoy a lifelong companionship of a piece of writing tool eminating nothing but the gesture of being sharp-minded and graceful. Prediction: it's gonna be a total sell-out soon. And I intend to buy more for stock, sure.
I ordered two of these pens - years ago (like, over 20...). I actually had them personalized back then. I thought I lost one at work. I've used these pens on the job for over twenty years. I was crushed. I actually sent an email out to everyone asking if anyone saw it. I later found it and had overlooked it. Yes, it was that important that I took the ribbing from all my coworkers. Fantastic tool that you will enjoy using and others will ask you about when they borrow it.
Great quality from Rotring, it was my go to brand when studying graphic design in the 90s.
