Love this pen. Perfect weight, good writing for a ball point pen. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the silver "cover" on the clicker portion of the pen kept falling off in my purse and it finally got lost. Otherwise, love the pen.

I'd heard great things about this mechanical pencil and it lived up to all of them! It uses 1.0 lead and when I use the soft lead, I can easily see its markings. With the unique bottom rubbery material, it's easy to hold and my hand doesn't tire from writing and drawing a lot. There are little rubber ovals that are a bit higher than the band on the bottom and these seem to be the secret ingredient that makes the pencil so comfortable. I also like the color of the bottom - almost camouflaged - different from any other pencil I've used. The eraser is easy to get to by removing the small metal top cover and it doesn't look weird if I leave off the meatl top because I use the eraser so much! The Rotring Tikky 0.5 mm pencil is really nice. I like the looks as well as features I wanted (i.e. good grip, eraser w/ cap, no lead indicator, etc.). Good quality and feels sturdy in your hand unlike a lot of mechanicals out there.

Very solid, well-constructed pen, and an amazing deal given the price. It fits into that rare middle ground between a disposable pen and an expensive "executive" model, which makes it a great every day choice. The width of the body makes it very comfortable to write with. The ballpoint refill it comes with is fairly run-of-the-mill, but it takes a standard Parker refill, so you have an abundance of options. I highly recommend the Schmidt easyFLOW 9000, which is somewhere between a JetStream ballpoint and a gel ink refill.

This is my review for the Rotring 0.7 mechanical pencil - but the 1.0 is the other pencil that I grab the most: This is my go-to for pencil drawing! I like doing small size pencil sketches of street scenes and I always reach for this pencil first. I love the weight and balance in my hand. The eraser works great. The lead is smooth; not too dark and not too light. The rubber grip is perfect without making the pen fatter. The 1.0 is great for shading and getting that thicker (not darker) line work.

Ok I have the rotring 800 and the 800 plus. This pencil is so much lighter. I found myself reaching for this one more often and it quickly became my favorite pencil. The grip is decent and the eraser is quite small. However I use the mono knock by tombow so this isn't a problem.

Great pencil. Very satisfying tikk... I haven't figured out what the mysterious blue dot is doing next to the clip, but on occasion it catches my eye and makes me feel subtly paranoid. The body of this pencil is slightly cheaper feeling than other pencils I like, but it works out that this pencil is quite light as a result.

I bought one for me and one for my son. We both love this pencil and the 1.0 mm lead. It's a great pencil that is comfortable to write with and I love being able to get the bigger diameter lead. So many pencils are in the 0.5 and 0.7 diameter and those just don't work for me. I wish more pencils came in the 0.9 and 1.0 mm diameters. Great pencil. Love it.

Nice mechanical pencil

I like the slightly beefy barrel here, compared to some of the competition. Also the choice of colors is very nice. Other than that, it's a mechanical pencil, and my past experience is this brand holds up well.

Rotring Pencil - excellent quality and value

Very good pencil. Rotring makes excellent quality products. They are especially good for people in technical fields such as engineering, the sciences, or even just hand-drawn designs. Very nice grip on this pencil.
