I have used all of the Royal Canin products for fostering kittens, and I literally cannot recommend anything more for your pet. The science and passion behind this brand to make sure your kittens, (and pregnant or lactating mothers) are recieving not just the proper nutrition- but also without excess fillers- is completely visible in the results you will personally see with your kitten or Mother cat itself. Also- I have not EVER recieved any sort of compensation for this review- and I want to really drive home that I have fostered numerous cats and kittens over the last 12 years, and I do not believe there is a better kitten food on the market. So much so, that I pay for it myself, out of pocket- even though other brands have been donated, to ensure healthy starts ... MoreI have used all of the Royal Canin products for fostering kittens, and I literally cannot recommend anything more for your pet. I bought this when the store was out of the Purina One kitten food, but then I talked to a knowledgeable employee at a local pet store who ripped it apart based on the first ingredient lol. I think it was chicken meal, but I can’t remember the name at the moment. Whatever it is, he said it’s the left-over parts of the chicken that humans don’t want to eat, so it’s not nearly as nutritious as brands that have the better parts of the chicken, not just left overs. He essentially said that this product was very over priced for the quality of contents and that hills/purina one/purina pro are much better science diets. My cat is obsessed with purina one anyways, so I’m back to that brand.

This has bee n the best received flavour for my 3 kittens, yes it is slightly harder to get out of the packet, but i just use and spoon and it works like a charm! i can get the whole packet out in one scoop now. I feed my 3 kitten 1.5 packets per meal, so 3 full packets a day between all of them. They love it and eat it all! one of my kittens actually prefers the royal canin dry food over the wet, so he leaves a little in his bowl as he likes to snack on it haha. But 100% the best flavour, the jelly is good too. The loaf is eh.... none of my kitties really liked it and it comes out really weird and dry? and i think it made one of them sick. If you are unsure on which flavour to pick GRAVY IT IS!! 110%

Could be the product, probably my cat
23 July 2022

When my two cats first ate this product by itself, both were fine. However, because of my experience with Royal Canin Mother And Baby Stage 2 Wet Cat Food Trays (one cat produced perfectly normal stool, the other produced slightly mushy (WALTHAM Grade 3?) stool) I purchased some Feline Natural as well for backup. Since I didn't want the FN to just sit there, I tried mixing RC with FN and having the cats eat both. After I started mixing the food, on two separate occasions weeks apart the ratio was more RC than FN and on each occasion the cat that reacted poorly to the Mother and Baby reacted poorly to this (Instinctive Jelly). Eventually both cats started avoiding the RC meat chunks and leaving them in the bowl after all the FN is finished. In short, if you're ... MoreWhen my two cats first ate this product by itself, both were fine. That said, both my cats have been free feeding Royal Canin's Kitten Dry Cat Food and so far they seem fine.

Loved by my 5 month old kitten
9 October 2019

I feed my 5 month old kitten on one pouch per day plus the Royal Canin Kitten Food with a couple of teaspoons of luke warm water and she loves it.I use the water and gravy to mix everything together and to help with her digestion of the dry food (not recommended by Royal Canin specifically) but I got her recently and when I fed her hard food was worried about her teeth. Although the kibble and the pouch meat are in small chunks for small mouths. My kitten loves the combination. I moved her straight onto this food as her previous owner wasn't very clear on what she was previously fed and their were not upset tummies or stools.A really good quality food!

My kitten was not a fan
3 May 2023

I tried offering my kitten some Royal Canin wet food as I received a few free pouches as part of a promotion. He enjoys RC dry kitten food so I thought he would enjoy the pouches, but he didn't really like them. I mixed a small amount in with his favourite wet food (Paw and Spoon kitten recipes) but he completely left the chunks in his dish. He didn't mind the gravy and would lick that clean, but he wouldn't eat any chunks at all. He seemed to slightly prefer the loaf texture as he did eat most of that mixed in. I'll finish what I have but won't be purchasing as unfortunately my kitten just doesn't like it.

No problem transitioning
22 November 2021

Our cat needed to switch to a urinary maintenance diet after we dealt with some blockage issues through our vet. This wet food never made his tummy upset and he loved it from his first taste. We appreciate how easy it was to transition him to this food, especially because precious attempts to other foods have caused giant GI problems. We combine the wet with the dry version of the same.

Not sure what’s in it…
16 February 2023

Whatever it is, my 2 Norwegian forest cats love it! My older 2 year old usually leaves his wet food unfinished but will eat intermittently but when I put this out, he’ll gobble everything up in one go! My younger one - he eats anything as long as it’s food! And he wants more after gobbling it up! They also have the Norwegian forest cat kibble which gives them the soft and glossy coat! I will definitely recommend and continue the buying more

Orphaned Kittens
15 February 2022

I had become foster mother for 8 orphaned 4 week old kittens. They did superbly on the kitten jelly. To start with I blended it with kitten formula because they could lap. At 5.5 weeks old they had it neat out of the packet and they loved it, grew very fast and when I took them back to the shelter to be microchipped and vaccinated, I gave the shelter a few packs for them to try on their other kittens. The shelter has decided to buy more.

My kitten absolutely loves both the dry and wet food in the kitten range. The gravy sachet are his favourite. It also reduces his toilet smells and his bad breath. Other cheap brand have him stinking the entire house out when he goes to the toilet and his breath stinks bad. So this is a wonderful product if you have an issue with smells.
