I bought this food for my Maine C cat because it’s a larger kibble, and it’s the solution for cats who swallow food whole and hack it back up. My Maine C likes it, but he will eat anything. The real surprise is my slightly-wild-barncat-stock shorthair tabby Winston who insisted, INSISTED on eating this food as a tiny kitten. He was hacking up his kitten kibbles and grew afraid of dry food. He then started eating from my Maine C’s dish and wouldn’t eat anything else. I read that cats sometimes like the sensation of crunching bones, and that’s the impression I get when I watch Winston eat. He never hacks up these kibbles, they are the size of a dog kibble almost. They contain Omega 3 oils to help with Maine C tendency to hip arthritis, and have a slightly fishy odor. ... MoreI bought this food for my Maine C cat because it’s a larger kibble, and it’s the solution for cats who swallow food whole and hack it back up. They contain Omega 3 oils to help with Maine C tendency to hip arthritis, and have a slightly fishy odor. Winston is now 5 years old and has never eaten another kibble. He gets angry if I try to introduce anything else. My cats get a bit of wet food too, but because of this quality kibble I can spend less on the wet food. My Maine C gets a second kibble because he eats anything and that stretches the bag some, it’s pricey. I’m terrified they will stop making this, I don’t know what I would do. During the lockdowns I ordered backup bags in case of shortages but luckily we didn’t have any. My cats have shiny fur with a plushy undercoat. If your cat hacks up kibble, give this a try. You can get auto ship at places like Chewy and save a little.

Our little darling Kenzie just loves this kibble. It is larger than others helping to keep her teeth cleaner and hampers her from gobbling down too much at a time. It is also good for her joints. I also like the large size of the bag making it cheaper by the pound. Royal Canin is not cheap but you do get a better quality cat food for this price.

Either it’s STALE or made for actual lions. The kibble is the size my departed Great Dane ate.Trying to make lemonade out of lemons, I tried using a meat mallet to break up without any success. I then pulled out coffee bean grinder. That also only worked on a few kibble.Save your money- don’t buy.

Our two Maine Coon cats absolutely love this Dry food. It’s large and crunchy and both cats go nuts for it. Been using it for a few years now and won’t change to any other. Highly recommend for any Maine Coon parents. They have beautiful shiny coats and are both very healthy cats. Love it.
I have a Tortoiseshell Maine Coon that loves this kibble. I also have a black tabby cat that eat this kibble and likes it he walk away from the smaller kibble. To add to that I have a black and white cat that eat this as well and last a tortoiseshell calico cat that loves this stuff. Its a higher end protein diet for cats.
Our family has 3 Maine Coons. Two that live at the family home with mom, dad and two kids and one that lives with the two college kids and visits often. We decided to try Royal CANIN Maine Coon mostly because our one boy Maine Coon ,Caspian ( who is the youngest of the three at 1.5 years) sheds really bad , while the girls don’t. We thought maybe trying a food formulated just for Maine Coons would help and half way through the first bag it seems like we are headed in the right direction but this isn’t what I wanted to share.Yes all three cats LOVE this food . It is crazy. But even more crazy is the difference in our sweet Gussy. She is 15 years old and has arthritis and a hearing problem. It is crazy. But even more crazy is the difference in our sweet Gussy. She is 15 years old and has arthritis and a hearing problem. A week into first eating this new diet found Gussy more alert and agile. Her walk is smoother and her temperament is calmer. AND this is a biggie , for the first time ever instead of meowing all night because she is scared ,she jumped up on our high bed and slept all night and was able to get down all by herself in the morning. In fact that’s her new favorite place to sleep. So, this new diet is helping Caspian with his shedding but it has given Gussy a new lease on life. It is pricey but even my husband had to admit it is worth it.
My maine coons got a sample bag of this from a friend of ours and our kitties loved it so much we bought a full size bag to mix in with their normal food. Our cats absolutely loved it and would high grade it out of their bowls but I didn't pay close enough attention to the ingredients. There was a lot more corn and rice in this than I prefer to feed my cats due to the risk to their hearts. I mistakenly felt that it would be healthier and more protein forward because it's offered at our vets. We're currently giving a bit of it as treats from time to time but we won't be buying again.
In the past I have served the cats this cat food. They loved it. The best thing about it is the kibble is large so they had to bite and chew it to swallow it. The large kibble and the lamb based recipe made for less digestive issues. Currently, the kibble is still large, but the Royal Canin food is chicken based. I believe the meat change is one of the reasons the cats regurgitate their food. It makes for more clean up, but other brands have split pea-sized kibble, and the cats suck it up whole and then regurgitate it. Hopefully, with Royal Canin the cats are getting more nutrition with the larger kibble because digestion begins in the mouth. By the way, I did have maine coon cats, but now my cats are large cats from feral colonies. They take well to it, but ... MoreIn the past I have served the cats this cat food. They loved it. I was shocked by the size of this kibble. I thought I was sent the wrong dry food because the kibble looked like the size of dog food. It’s like watching my cats eat a jaw breaker because it’s literally the size of a marble and my cats are unable to eat more than a couple because I believe their jaws get too sore. Thank goodness for the great support at Chewy’s because they gave me a store credit equal to what I paid so I can order Royal Canin in a smaller bite sized kibble.
