Sassa is a 10 year old Maine coon cat. We started using Royal Canin Satiety Support weight management Dry Cat Food, over a year ago at the suggestion of our veterinarian to aid in help her lose some excess weight. Within a few months she was a different girl. Sassa had lost weight, her long-hair coat was heathier and she loved to play again. GREAT CRUNCHIES BUT BEWARE OPENING BOX

Satiety food is great though my cat, after many years, has not lost weight but then again, she's not gotten any fatter either. :D Unfortunately, I made the same mistake twice opening the box. Used one side of the scissors to run along the tape only to find that I've also slashed a long gash in the food packet (sigh). Packing tape patches it up but... Lesson hopefully learned for next time!

Kitty loves it, maybe a little bit too much

I'm feeding this to my slightly overweight 7 year old cat. She shredded the bag open when I first purchased it, so I think she finds it quite delicious. I followed the recommendations for feeding her 5/8 cup at first, then reducing to 1/2 cup. But she is still insatiable and I'm wondering if it's related to her first 10 months as a feral kitten begging for restaurant food. I've been able to slow down her eating by putting half of her food for the day in a food ball and she doesn't seem to be in a panic as long as she knows there is food there. I had to increase the daily food back to 5/8 cup so that she wasn't so frantic. I'm hoping that will still be effective for weight loss as it's about half the calories of what she was getting previously. Her coat is soft and shiny and her energy levels are great.

My cat loves it!

I purchased this product a few weeks ago. It is still too early to tell if my cat has lost weight, but I see a huge difference in him already. My cat is 16.8 lbs....he's not supposed to be a big cat as he is on the smaller frame size but he is so overweight. He's supposed to be around 12 lbs. My goal is to get him to 14lbs at least.When we started feeding him, I noticed he loves the food and he stays fuller longer. He's supposed to be eating 3/4 cup per day but only eats 1/2 cup...so I know the food is doing what it's supposed to be doing. He is also drinking more water. He's starting to be more friendly and come around to cuddle.

Opposite effect!

My nine year old cat was about 13 pounds with otherwise normal bloodwork, a year and a half ago. My vet recommended this food, and she lost weight. However, now she has hyperthyroidism, which she did not have before she ate this food. We followed the vet’s instructions, and the bag’s recommended feeding dosages, for one year. Her thyroid levels went from a normal range (anywhere from 1 to 4.7) up to 15.6. I’m concerned aboutPBDEs, and why a normal/healthy (albeit slightly overweight) cat would now have a new serious medical problem, after having this (prescribed!) food.

Overall great product

We have been feeding my cat this product on our vet's advice for a little while now. When we adopted him he was very overweight and he has managed to lose enough using this product to keep him in the healthy range without too much pain in reducing feeding quantities etc. He is now in really good condition, with a great coat and loads more energy to play now he's lost those extra kilos!My cat is VERY good oriented, we now feed him small portions of his daily allowance throughout the day using a Catmate feeder and a Royal Canin Feline Obesity pouch in the evening which works well. Cat likes these biscuits and eats them every time. She even accepts them instead of treats for training and play. This brand was recommended by the vet for cat weight loss. So far she has lost about half of the necessary weight.

The food is for a diet for my kitties, as recommended by my vet. If I’m honest I and the kitties prefer the pate they used to have before changing them to this. It’s supposed to be meat in gravy but the kitties lick off all the gravy to reveal a spongey oval shape which doesn’t look like meat, more like quorn… I don’t know if it is or isn’t. They eventually go back to eat it, so I do have clean dishes by the time lunchtime comes round but I suspect that’s just hunger. They don’t seem to enjoy it as much as much as they did the Royal Canin Gastrointestinal pate

Works Amazing Sensitive Tummy

My little kitty loves this food, and it's been amazing for her weight and hygiene. She's a very fluffy cat and previously would get little dingleberries and streaks all in her tail and pantaloons, and bc she was a little chonky she couldn't quite reach to clean herself. But since we swapped over to this food in March she's been the picture of health. She quickly lost weight and has maintained a healthy weight since then. She's much happier grooming herself and has far less to clean. She loves this food and she hasn't had any tummy issues since she's been on it. She definitely still begs for food, although not as much as she used to when she was on other brands. We will be using this forever
