My senior chi-mix is overweight, but still "spunky" for the most part. He coughs a lot but that's a different issue. He's not particularly happy with his prescription food. He'll eat it when he realizes noth8ng else is com8ng his way. Because of that, I buy the dry food and alternate with the wet. Nineties they can be mixed, if portions are considered. He likes the wet food better, but dry is good for him too. Thanks for having both available. I wish the price were more affordable though. It makes it hard to do what's right for our fur babies when we can't even afford it.

I’ve worked with dogs for the past 25 years. I’ve tried all sorts of ‘diet’/weight management kibble. Some seem to taste ok to dogs, but the weight stays on stubbornly. Others are more successful at weight reduction, probably because it’s unappetizing enough that dogs will only eat it as a last resort.Dogs love this kibble though, and it works! It really got the weight off my rescued mastiff, and it was a LOT of weight that needed to go. It worked so well I recommended it to 3 of my clients and it’s worked great for them too.

Dog not Losing Weight with Royal Canin Satiety

I have been feeding my Shih Tzu mix the Royal Canin Wet & Dry Satiety food for the last 6 months. He has not lost an ounce. We go to the park every day and he wrestles with other dogs and runs around so he is getting plenty of exercise. Why isn't he losing any weight? I feed him 4 oz dry in morning 7:30 am and 4 oz wet at 5;30-6:30 pm. At new gets two baby carrots, or a dog treat, at night he gets his teeth cleaning treat. He weighs 24 lbs and should weigh 15-20 lbs.

Low calorie, high palatability
24 September 2024

This is the only food that can reliably keep our chihuahua's weight in check. She has normal bowl movements. The relatively low caloric content of this food has allowed better quality of life* for our little foodie. I've noticed that since we switched to Royal Canin (Satiety for Bean and just the normal breed appropriate sized varieties for our other dogs), their coats are so soft!* What we define "better quality of life" as: keeping weight steady to keep her joints pain free and allowing her to have a snack/treat with our other dogs. These points are very important for her happiness and health.

My boy Ozzie loves his Satiety and looks forward to dinner every night. Delivery was super fast. Many thanks from Irene and Ozzie😁🐅

Ozzie is slowly loosing weight. Its taking a little longer than i expected but the vet is very happy with his progress. Ozzie being a 4yr old rottweiler/border collie/kelpie/staff mix rescue..he is very food orientated. The vet says he has a very heathy shiny black coat. He is a very friendly dog and loves being around people and other dogs. Many thanks from Ozzie and Irene 🐅😁

My dog was not satiated and wanted him leaving for more
7 September 2024

I switched to feeding my dog half of his previous diet (raw food, primarily protein) and this Satiety diet because he started putting on weight as an older dog almost 11 years old and around 60 lbs. I like to keep him around the 55-60lb weight range but as soon as he started passing the 60lb mark and you could see he was more round, I knew it was time to make a change. He doesn't get many treats and on training days, the extra kibble he gets for rewards is suited for the extra calories he's burning during nosework. Well I can say that he was always still hungry and begging for more food by dinner time. I tried this for a solid six months plus with no results so I'm switching to Hill's Metabolic to see if there's a difference. Didn't love that the food came in the loaf style because it was a pain cleaning out all the cans to recycle and I had to scrap all the food out of the can along all the crevices. Two stars because my dog liked the food but he's not picky.

Recommend, unless?

We've always used Royal Canin Veterinary Satiety Dry Dog Food and have never had an issue until recently. It seems Royal Canin may have updated the ingredients which is now staining our dog's white coat brown. The stain remains even after multiple grooming sessions/baths!Nonetheless, our dog's health is most important and he still loves the taste. We'll continue to buy it but proceed with caution if you've a light/white coat dog!

This food has helped my "podgy" furry friend finally loose some weight gradually. 2 kilos !!! To be exact. I've tried so many types of foods to no avail! Yet this has finally helped. If your Vet is suggested to try for weight issues, please give it a try. I can 100% honestly recommend.

Review of ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition Satiety Weight Management Dry Dog Food 6kg Bag
11 September 2024

My little daxie girl lost her weight easily without going hungry. She needed to lose 1 kg, 20%of her weight, and was successful in about 2-3 weeks. She’s still on it but eats more of it. Her poops were never loose and actually didn’t change at all, maybe she pooped a bit more but that’s it. Great product. I recommend it.

This dog food is a regular purchase for me. If your dog has weight issues it is well worth trying. Millie has lost around 2 kilos since being on it, and as she has a heart condition it has definitely helped health wise. She absolutely loves meal times !! The meat is a light texture and is mousse like. My only complaint is that it does stick to the tin and it is hard to clean out, but other than that it is on the expensive side buta worth while purchase.
