This can be removed easily and stored in the rear jacket map pocket. Solid jacket with great value for money. I've put about 500 miles on the jacket so far and I've only got good things to say. Fit is accurate (I'm 6'1"/180) and LG is perfect). Plenty of features but fully opening/stowing the chest vents can be fiddly. The included back protector is functional but can prevent airflow & make your back sweaty.The only other tiny issue is the camo color. It appears to have a bit of a purplish hue in sunlight rather than a pure grey/black camo vibe. Not a big deal to me but YMMV.
