Rubik's 3x3 Cube

Durability - 5/5 For a $10 toy the durability is quite good, I gifted it to my kid who breaks a lot of things but he has yet to figure this one out. It's survived multiple drops on tile, carpet, and even concret. The pieces can be popped out and put back in so long as no plastic parts chip off. But to pop a piece out you would need to stick something in there and use leverage. The only part that isn't durable are the stickers. There's a clear protective layer on top of the sticker. These have peeled and frayed making the cube feel rough. Overall, we've had this for a year, and have used it a lot, and it still fells more or less as it did when we got it. But instead of trying to solve it and aiming to just solve one side was stil a challenge and plenty of fun. My 10 year old put the puzzle down for a while, but when I did suggest aiming for smaller goals he seemed to enjoy it more. With that said we still both gave up and looked up how to do it. Now that we know, it's hardly replayable, doing it again is like doing it every other time. One way I can see this having a high replay value is if you are doing this competitvely and are aiming to improve your times. Age appropirate - 4/5 It's a simple puzzle, you know what you have to do, each side rotates, this is easy to understand and execute. My kid had no issues with this, just solving it is very challenging. The cube is gender neutral as well.

Enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding. Helps me focus. Awesome design, that's simple but can be challenging. Time passes by, and this cube still provides good quality fun. Can be intriguing.

#gotitfree Gone are the removable stickers of the past that we all tried to cheat the cube in the past. Now the 3x3 cube has solid beautiful coloured squares. This newer version also moves more smoothly than they used to, allowing kids (and adults) to keep improving on their solving time. My kids love it, and even want to take it with them places to use as a fidget toy. While the Rubiks cube has been around for years, it has managed to improve and remain a go-to toy for kids of all ages.
