This harness fits great and looks great too. I wasn't in love with the colors online, but they look fantastic in person and we've gotten lots of compliments on how great she looks, especially coordinated with the leash and collar. My only disappointment is the front attachment loop, which is only a piece of rope. That loop feels pretty flimsy and easily worn down. At least on the Front Range harness the loop is strengthened with a polymer, but this one feels a bit fragile and weak. It's worked so far, but it makes me a bit nervous to use it. Otherwise I love the harness.

I have a shiba inu who is very fussy with his harnesses and will often try to slink away when we prepare for a walk once it comes out. He typically hates when I put things over his head and needs to be held by the collar, which I hate doing. He seemed to especially dislike putting on the Front Range, so I haven't used it, despite being happy with the build quality. While he still isn't thrilled to have something over his head, he is much less reluctant to put it on and will let me put it over his head with just a few treats!! I prefer these over other harnesses due to the free moving open shoulder design. Love how lightweight but sturdy they are. Would like to see a small handle added. There is some shifting while walking due to leash angle and the fact that in many small dogs, the neck straps just don't seem to fit perfectly. If it's Tight enough for their neck. you can't slip the harness over the dogs head and loose enough to do so is too loose on their neck and allows more shifting. My dogs aren't heavy pullers so these issues dont detract too much from the value of having a very lightweight but strong harness that is easy on and off.

As a professional dog training and care company we would prefer to go with other options because we have a high standard for our personal dogs. If you are on a budget or need something quick to satisfy a safety risk by all means get these or something similar, we certainly did. No one piece of equipment is the best, they all have their pros and cons and each buyer has factors that influence their buying choices. I bought this harness for my staffie Miss Ethel and usually I have a hard time with harnesses because she’s thick around the chest but short - this harness fit her wonderfully! It’s very adjustable around the chest and the neck (she wears a medium). Ethel is 65 lbs! She wore it on my dads sailboat and it was comfortable all day and helpful for getting her in and out of the boat. Ethel is also a BIG roller and this harness is easily thrown in the washing machine when she encounters things she just can’t resis dropping her shoulder in. I love it and she does too! Though it is lightweight it is also very durable. Ethel wears it three times a day and walks about 3.5 miles a day in it!
This harness is exactly what I needed for my dog. It’s lightweight, no padding, and has two leash clip points. A medium is a perfect fit for my 1 yo German shorthaired pointer - the harness can adjust as he continues to grow. My only complaint (a small one) it the top leash attachment ring is very close to the fabric loop for attaching a light. As my dog wanders, the leash clip will snag on the fabric loop and get twisted on the harness. The solution is to clip the leash on so that the clip is facing down. I personally prefer the clip facing up so it can’t rub on any fabric or risk snagging and unclipping itself. But on this harness, when the clip faces up it will snag on the fabric flashlight loop.

He measures 32" around the widest part of his chest, so he's right on the cusp of the M or L sizing. He has always been a Large in Ruffwear harnesses (the Front Range specifically), but I had to return the Large Hi & Light for a Medium as the straps around the neck were way too big, even tightened all the way! The Large harness gaped at the neck. I was super bummed! Thankfully Ruffwear returns are super quick and easy, so I received the Medium replacement quickly, and it fits well, although maybe a little short on his torso. Overall, though, I adore the color, and I absolutely love how lightweight the material is! Gibson gets hot easily and living in the South, I want to keep him as comfortable as possible, so this is an excellent summer alternative to the Front Range. I love the option to clip the leash to the front of the harness, although I do wish the front clip wasn't made of fabric (metal would feel more secure). The only problem I have is that the harness twists on him when he pulls even the slightest bit, and I find myself adjusting it on him frequently. This might be user error, though, and I'll keep working on figuring out the best fit for him. With a few tweaks, it would be perfect!
I really like this harness because it is lightweight and doesn't end up with a lot of hair stuck and clingy to it like the original version of this. However the sizing doesn't work for my dog. I measured him per the instructions and per the size guide and his measurement, he should have fit into a Small. When I got the small - the neck fit but the waist was too small. So I exchanged it for a medium and now the waist fits but the neck is too big and the neck is way too loose and I can't get it any tighter. It was a bit of a waste of money because then I waited too long to try and find a replacement and cannot get my money back. You should check to make sure that all sizes with the size ranges given will work no matter what the other dimension is.
I got this harness for my active and very fluffy girl. Her fur is very thick and bulky (poodle chow mix) and I wanted a very lightweight harness. This is it. This one is perfect. We've have other harnesses before but this is our favorite. Very straight forward, minimal harness. Perfect for a dog who gets hot easily and is bulky as it. Got a size small for my dog who I generally consider a medium. We followed the sizing and sure enough small fits perfect. She's 33lb pounds and like I mentioned, a lot of fluff.
I was hesitant about paying this amount of money for a harness, but it is far superior than anything I have tried before. It is very light and my pup is barely aware he is wearing it. My pup had sores and scabs in his armpits with other harnesses which is why I tried this one. The Hi & Light Dog Harness does not but up against his armpits, as others did, so it is light and comfortable for him. He no longer fights us when it's time to put on a harness. Previously, it was a daily struggle. I am very happy I paid the extra money and would highly recommend this harness.
