I'm not a fan of this light...there are far easier to use ones out there by other companies. Attaching this to the indicated flap on the Ruffwear harness means the light hits my eyes directly if I look at my dog making it harder for me to see in the surrounding darkness. It's incredibly challenging to use the clasp to attach & remove from the flap. The push button control is very stiff. This is the only Ruffwear product I've been disappointed in so far (I've used at least 6 other products!), but I regret this purchase.

Love that there are multiple colors, brightness, flashing, waterproof, USB charging. Unfortunately, I think we have gone through more than 10 of these lights in 6 years. When we go long times during the summer without using and charging because it is light outside for long, the battery fails and will not take a charge. Ruffwear has been good and replaced a few of these in the past for me, but I hate asking for a replacement every time they fail. I wish they would just fix the problem. The latest one I purchased a week or two ago will not hold a charge. It works if we use it right after pulling it off the charger, but is completely dead when we go to use it again the next evening. Really useful for early mornings and late evenings at the park. I use this safety light when exercising my Border Collie in the evening and early morning. It certainly gives me a piece of mind in these situations. The product is fantastic, long battery life and is light weight. It is smaller than I expected which is a positive for us.Another benefit is that the light is really useful for anyone wanting to stagger their training in more distracting environments. I'm not a fan of this light...there are far easier to use ones out there by other companies. I like the light itself. Bright, with a number of different settings, you can definitely make sure your dog is seen.Unfortunately, there are two parts of this item that I would change if I could.1. The button to turn on/ turn off/ cycle through modes is terribly hard to push or hold. Sometimes I find myself changing the light setting when I'm trying to turn it off. Sometimes I'm pushing and pushing and can't get the light to turn on. Seems like its either placed too deep in the device or just doesn't have enough spring to it.2. The charging port is on the back. Once I've clipped this on to my dog's harness, I have to unclip it to charge it. Love this light. Good visibility from all angles. I have a black dog, so walking at night absolutely requires a light so he doesn't startle people by blending into the darkness. The weird "ring" for attaching to the collar like a dog tag is very difficult to manipulate. Now that it is on, I won't be taking it off. I have had the light for about 6 months, just had to recharge it for the first time recently (probably lasted at least 15 hours). I just took my dog's collar off him so I could plug the light in for charging. That weird "ring" is not coming off without a fight. My other minor complaint is I like the slow blinking green light. If the green light worked as expected, and there were instructions on how to use the "clip", this would pretty much be perfect. I have two dogs and use blue for one dog and green for the other. It makes it so easy to keep tabs on them after dark! Now for the caveats: neither the "Quick Ring" nor the "Quick Clip" attachment devices work for me at all. I attach the light to the D ring on their collars and remove it when not needed (during the day). The Quick Ring is anything but quick! It makes it super difficult to get the lights on and off their collars. I ended up purchasing (elsewhere) mini double-gated carabiners to replace the Quick Rings and they work fantastic. The light is really difficult to turn on and off, especially with gloved hands in winter. 3 colors and flashing (so 6 options, each requiring a press) is nice but it just means you have to press that impossibly hard to press button more times. It’s annoying. The light is bright and the clip works well enough to clip to harness. It’s smaller thank I thought but bright enough that I can see my do in the woods at night or make him visible when walking at night. The recharge feature is great since the light lasted about 3 weeks and I was able to just plug it in and recharge it without the inconvenience of new batteries. If they fixed the switch it could be 5 stars I’m looking for a better solution frankly.
Everything working as designed. We use it almost daily. Seems durable although I agree with some other reviewers that I wish the clasp was fully metal. The plastic will probably breakdown at some point - but for a $30 light it should get plenty of use. I love that there is a slot for it on her harness and coat. Other reviewers claiming the controls are hard to use, but I am not having that issue at all. It does take a firm press from the top of your nail to change the light modes but I'd rather it require a firm press than to be changing colors all willy nilly. Happy with this product and have recommended to everyone I know who walks at night or in snowy conditions!

It also survived some rough play with a relatives puppy when it was on the collar. It fits securely on his collar, harness and his ruffwear high vis. Made him easy to see in the dark, which stops him being stepped on at running club. One thing is it requires a strong press to turn it on, so would be difficult for children or elderly to use if they're fingers are weak. Can imagine its hard to use it if you have cold fingers so turn it on before you go outside. Hold it for several minutes. Very easy to charge and charges quickly. This is the second light beacon I have bought for my dog ,but,it is by far the best . It is lovely and bright so we can be seen clearly ,on our early morning walks, and i can see him when he wonders off exploring. Also the fact that it's rechargeable is a great idea. The clip is very secure so we aren't going to loose it like our previous one ,when he goes running about I love the fact that you have all the colour options as well as the light setting. Would definitely recommend it, even though its a more expensive option
