I've used the other Rufus & Coco litters which have been amazing so when I saw this one I thought it would also be fantastic. Nope. What an epic fail. The smell is terrible - funky, wet/damp earthy odour, it's not nearly as absorbent/clumpy as the other litters are and the bottom or my cat's litter tray is often still wet. I'm using way more of it, way faster. I'm so disappointed, even more so that I bought two of the 9kg bags that I now need to get through.

I’ve been using the Rufus & Coco natural clumping litters for years with foster kittens and recently tried the bamboo. It clumps well and is even less dusty than the others and stands up well to stinky little boy kittens! Will definitely be my first choice whenever it’s available.

Long lasting, very little tracking, no smell, way less dust compared to corn varieties making it more economical. Definitely staying with this one. Note 2x 9k bags are cheaper than 1x 18k !

Oh my, I thought yay, how exciting, bamboo! Great for the environment! BUT, i received it, let my cats use it and in a matter of a day, it began to stink like something crawled in there and died. It started to stink out the room with the litter in it and I have covered litter trays. This is probably the grossest litter I have ever bought for my cats and I have tried a few. Not only that, but it also seems to fizz at the bottom where the urine is and doesn't absorb very well like the other ones, its also harder.
Although it’s better at odour control due to the inclusion of charcoal, it doesn’t clump, making it far too difficult to clear. We’re going back to the corn version but always in the lookout for something that will absorb kitty litter smell better.
The bamboo variety isnt as absorbing as the other varieties. I have 3 cats. Less dusty but far less absorbant.
After trying the plant based litter, which is quite dusty, I've now tried this bamboo based one and it's less dusty, not much tracking at all and does a good job on odour control as well as being kind on paws and eco flushable. I've found my new fave litter brand!
If I could give this a rating of 0, I would. Worst “clumping” pellets I have tried so far. False advertising printed on the packet, as soon as you scoop the “clump” of litter where your cat has gone, it falls apart into individual pieces. Do not recommend.
This variety smells like a zoo enclosure; The mix of dark pellets makes it difficult to ensure all waste is removed. The regular version smelled like bananas after using this for a month!
I adopted my cat Roxie when she was 6 months old, noticed she never covered her “business” In her litter tray, only scratched the wall and everything around the litter box to cover it up besides the actual litter. This continued and 4 months later she started weeing on my bed on occasion. I tried a few brands of litter in this time but had the same behaviour. THIS litter was the one that changed it. I’ve actually seen her covering in the litter box WITH the litter for the first time ever. It’s early days but I’m so thankful. Fingers crossed this continues!
